12 The leader of the Eaters

Seeing the people who appeared in front of him, the monster growled and jumped at them with a running start. While the monster was flying at them, two people gripped the sword tighter and jumped straight at the monster.

Being in the air in front of the monster, the wars synchronously changed their position in opposite directions, passing the monster between each other. As soon as the front half of the monster flew by, the warriors simultaneously slashed with their glowing maples. With a flash of yellow light, the monster was split in half, and half of the devourer rolled head over heels on the ground, leaving behind a ground covered with blood and pieces of organs.

A similar pattern occurred in other places where the eaters were able to get close to the wall. The wars that killed the monster without removing the sword quickly went to the next one.

The number of monsters was decreasing every second until an incredibly loud scream rang out from the dark forest. Urug, who was watching from the gate, stopped his lesson and frowned, narrowing his glowing yellow eyes. The swordsmen, who were destroying monsters two by two, after hearing the cry, exchanged glances with each other and turned around, stopping killing the eaters, ran towards the wall.

After a few tens of seconds, the soldiers gathered on the wall and watched attentively as the trees in the dark fox began to stagger, and some to fall. A few minutes later, at the edge of the forest, one by one, the eaters began to appear running towards the wall.

They differed from ordinary eaters by their larger size and more terrifying appearance. Most of the monsters were about five meters in size. Their skin was covered with tumors, various holes behind which bone plates were visible. Other areas were covered with blisters from which a foul-smelling liquid flowed out. Some monsters had dozens of red-colored eyes that were located in different places of their body. Various bone appendages protruded from all possible places. The monsters' bodies themselves had a variety of shapes.

The face of the Urug watching them became darker and darker.

"Fortified devourers, there are about 40 of them, not counting the remaining ordinary devourers, there is still a leader, this is too many, we will not be able to defeat them without great losses, if at all."

Suddenly, something flew out of the forest at an incredible speed towards the wall. Urug who abruptly came out of his thoughts and with a lightning movement reached his hands behind his back, grabbing his broadswords, he abruptly pulled them out of their scabbards. When the broadswords left the scabbard, they lit up with orange flames and Urug slashed in front of him, the broadswords collided with a sharp bone and knocked it aside.

Having beaten off the bone, Urug looked in both directions where the soldiers were and got angry. Most of the warriors were unharmed, but seven people were hit by a bone, piercing the armor reinforced by rashu, leaving them seriously wounded and bleeding, two were unlucky and they died. One was punched in the head, revealing a destroyed and leaking brain, and another bone hit the heart, flying through, leaving a bleeding hole in the chest.

After assessing the situation with the wounded, Urug turned his evil gaze to the battlefield and saw a monster thirteen meters high and about twenty-four meters long coming out of the forest. He had a flattened body with one pair of legs in front and two behind, the legs themselves were thin and had two bending places. The body of the devourer, like that of his younger brethren, had many tumors, ulcers and protruding bones. On the back of the monster there were many long tentacles with sharp bone edges.

After looking at a wall full of people with dozens of red eyes, the monster opened its mouth filled with hundreds of thin and needle-long teeth and roared and ran to attack.

Seeing the actions of the devourer, Urug assessed his strength and swung the maples into the sky with a flourish, creating a wave of flame tens of meters high. Then he picked up the shocked Nora and the child quickly jumped over the wall and threw them, he said.

- It's dangerous on the wall now and I'll be busy. - After which, turning around, he returned to the wall.

When he returned to the wall, Urug began shouting orders to the soldiers who had been in a small stupor.

- All attention, archers, attack without sparing arrows, try to wound the fortified eaters as much as possible before they get close to the wall. Vladimir's group will go with me. You will restrain the death eaters who will try to prevent me from fighting with the leader. The rest of you try to contain as many monsters as possible until help arrives from other gates.

Having finished speaking, Urug jumped off the wall and after waiting a few seconds, Vladimir's group approached him.

- Follow me and keep up.

Having said that, Urug ran at an excess of human speed, Vlaim's group followed him without question at a slightly lower speed. While the group was running towards the leader, they were blocked several times by fortified eaters, but they were all cut into pieces and burned by the Urug running ahead.

The group under the leadership of Urug was rapidly approaching like an arrow shot from a bow. When the group approached the leader at a fairly close distance, Urug waved his sword and signaled the group not to follow further. Having stopped, Vadim gathered a team around him and gave several commands.

- We all act together and do not disperse, we support each other. If Mr. Urug has any problems, we will have to help, it's clear to everyone.

While speaking the last part of his order, he looked at the two people with a serious and slightly threatening expression. Upon hearing the order, all the members of the group nodded with serious expressions and distributed themselves, went to the nearest devourer who ran in their direction.

Meanwhile, Urug, who was running towards the leader of the devourers, clutching his broadswords tighter in his hands, began to send a large number of rashu to them. The blades of the broadswords began to light up with orange flames. While at one point, the distance between Urug and the leader of the devourers remained about fifteen meters, he swung and struck in the direction of the devourer.
