A new move/A decision

"So those were the ranks and powers of all those superheroes and villains that I've run into," Joshua thought turning off SuperTube. "If only Mr. Owens had explained all of the element and superhero stuff like that dude," Joshua said aloud. "Urgh," Joshua groaned as he turned to face the wall. "At least now I know what I have to do," Joshua thought as his mom and the doctors entered the room.

"It seems there are no issues with you anymore and it looks like your stamina is replenished," the doctor explained as Joshua listened closely. "The only problem you may have are small bouts of pain in your stomach every now and again," the doctors said telling his mom he could be discharged.

*A few hours later* "I don't understand," Joshua said as Mr. Owens explained what they had gone over that day. "Hone your focus on one big move and launch it out, to create a powerful move with your power," Mr. Owens said again simplifying it. "Oh, all I need to do is visualize it and estimate how big it should be?" Joshua asked, getting a slight nod in return. "Should I try to chant it or just spend a while thinking and visualizing it?" Joshua asked. "I would suggest visualizing it a couple of times then make a chant to go along with it," Mr. Owens said assuming that would be the best path for Joshua to take.

"Thank you, Mr. Owens," Joshua said to him giving him a slight smile. "I'm not letting you go out unsupervised from now on though. When you train ask me to come to the gym with you it seems Peter might hold a grudge noticing you are alive," Mr. Owens said giving Joshua no room to refuse. "Yes, sir," Joshua responded defeated and not being able to refuse. "Ethan is still inside the gym so I would suggest you join him, he was worried about you," Mr. Owens explained.

"Alright, got anything else I should know?" Joshua asked. "Yes actually now that you reminded me, Andrea was hit dead on by one of Elizabeth's fireballs so she's in the infirmary," Mr. Owens explained. "Is she okay?" Joshua asked facing his teacher. "Yeah, she's fine should just leave a small scar if none at all," Mr. Owens said as they pulled into the school's parking lot.

"That's good," Joshua responded getting out of the car. "Oh right! Mr. Owens, how many days do we have till the mission?" Joshua asked entering the gym. "26 days as of now," Mr. Owens said checking the date. "JOSHUA! Ethan yelled happily hugging Joshua. "Ow, Ow, my ribs," Joshua croaked out leading Ethan to release his grip. "Are you okay?" Ethan asked. "As good as I'll get we need to figure out our teamwork and our powers more otherwise we won't be able to beat Peter," Joshua said making sure his teacher was listening as well.

"Joshua, Ethan, Elizabeth come over here!" Mr. Owens yelled out leading the 3 to line up. "So Joshua brought up a valid point you all are horrible at teamwork. So for the next 7 days, I want you all to fight each other at once and when those 7 days are over I want all of you including Andrea to fight me together," Mr. Owens explained. "What about time to create our moves?" Ethan asked. "You can focus on developing new moves and abilities while fighting each other. The best moves are created in the heat of battle," Mr. Owens answered.

"For the rest of today Elizabeth you and Ethan will spar first to 5 wins, and a friend of mine wanted to speak to Joshua regarding something so he will be gone momentarily," Mr. Owens said, Elizabeth giving Joshua a jealous look. "Alright second-floor room 2," Mr. Owens whispered to Joshua, getting a nod as Joshua left the gym.

"You wanted to see me, Nathan?" Joshua asked entering the room. "How'd you figure out I called for you?" Nathan asked. "Well it was pretty obvious you said you wanted a decision by today so I'm here to give you my answer," Joshua said. "Smart kid, so what is your answer?" Nathan asked. "No," Joshua said.

"No, what you won't come with me? Or no as in you don't wanna endure the enormous pain you would go through here and join me?" Nathan asked, anger slowly rising on his face as his pupils dilated and his breathing became rough. "I can't go with you Nathan as much as I would need to. I think I want to make my own connection to avoid death," Joshua answered reiterating the previous answer.

"Smart answer," Nathan said his face returning to normal. "You aren't mad?" Joshua asked surprised by the sudden change. "No, I have no reason to be mad you want to live your life according to your own ways, who would be mad at that?" Nathan said giving Joshua a smile. "I didn't expect this to go like this I won't lie," Joshua said sitting down at an empty desk.

"Well, I can't stay here for long anyway, I don't work here like Cleric and Hypothermia," Nathan said standing up. "Are they the only heroes working here?" Joshua asked curious. "Yeah, unfortunately, most of the others live near the outskirts of the city," Nathan explained. "So hypothetically if a villain stronger than Hypothermia and Cleric were to appear we would be screwed?" Joshua asked worried. "Not entirely, the headmaster isn't a hero but he is still pretty strong," Nathan said sensing Joshua's growing worry.

"Do you think I can do it?" Joshua asked. "Do what?" Nathan responded curious. "Do you think I can grow my power enough to not die?" Joshua said, reasking his question. "You have 2 years before it will kill you, in that time you have to gain solid control of your power and reach rank 4," Nathan said. "So can I?" Joshua asked again. "Yeah, I believe you can," Nathan said his watch ringing.

"I have to go looks like some weaklings are robbing a store," Nathan said pulling out his bag. "Do you wanna come along and see a real hero in action?" Nathan asked pulling out Porcupine's hero costume. "I should have figured you were Porcupine, but yes!" Joshua said excitedly. "Here put this on to hide your identity," Nathan said tossing Joshua a bat mask.

"Why do you have a bat mask in your bag?" Joshua asked putting it on as they ran through the hall. "In case my costume is in the wash I use it to hide my identity," Nathan answered jumping to the side to avoid a student from seeing them as they left the school. "Let's do this!" Porcupine said creating a slingshot out of the earth.
