Chapter 3

***Adrian's POV***

"Excuse me, are you calling for someone?" As I asked, the woman slowly turned her head around to face me. She looked me in the eyes, as if wondering who I am and why I called her out. And as soon as her eyes met mine, she looked at me almost the same way as I looked at her.

I was mesmerised. No, in fact, I was beyond hooked. I couldn't help myself. I didn't think anyone would be able to help themselves when faced by such a woman. Her beauty was hypnotising.

She had rust wavy hair that was tied up in a ponytail behind the head of her heart shaped face. Her eyes were deep and she had a pointed nose as well as a full pink lips that were like cherry blossoms.

***Frances' POV***

After I turned around to look for who called me, I barely believed my own eyes.

I was stunned to see the owner of the voice. He had a strong body and his height was probably approximately 186 cm since I needed to look up just so I could see his beautiful, enticing eyes.

His shoulders were so broad that I could imagine my head being perfectly placed and rested on it while he made me dependable on him. Despite his grey training shirt, I could still see the hardness of his chest and the lining of his muscular body. The simple shirt he had on was a perfect fit on him. I think he would be able to make any clothes, even rugs, look good with his physique.

He had an oval shaped face and a pair of mesmerising blue eyes that could entice any woman. Not to mention that he had an attractive jawline and pointed nose that sharpened his features even more. What made him more attractive was his voluptuous lips.

I couldn't help but stare at him as I swallowed my own saliva out of thirst. My throat was suddenly dry, and I think it was him whom I was thirsty for.

"Hi, I'm Adrian."

I was still staring at him and taking in his godly appearance when he introduced himself which brought me back to reality. I blinked a couple of times and fixed my posture as I tried hard to register his words and act properly. Stopping myself from acting like a complete fool.

"Hello, I'm Frances," I told him after I cleared my throat swiftly to find my voice back.

He looked at me for a while before he asked in his manly gentle voice, "You are new here?"

"Oh, yes! I'm going to visit my friend, Teresa," I mumbled without thinking too much that before I realised it, I already made the mistake. It was too late and I could no longer take it back.

For one thing, despite the fact that I already texted Teresa and the others that we should meet at the entrance of Cagayan Valley, Teresa wasn't aware that I would be using her name when I came here.

He nodded his head in understanding before his eyebrow knitted swiftly and he tilted his head a bit on the side while staring at me as he asked in wonder, "Oh, I see, but it seems like you were calling for someone's name earlier?"

"Oh, yes! I'm sorry, I was mentioning my friend's name Elizabeth, we have an agreement that we are going to meet her in front of the gate of Cagayan valley." I explained to him swiftly. I didn't even know why I suddenly blurted out Elizabeth's name earlier. It just happened subconsciously.

The man nodded his head.

"You can wait for her from there in the waiting shed if you want. The sun will shine soon and it's would hotter," the man suggested as he pointed out towards the waiting shed that was only a few feet away from us.

"Thank you, I will do that." I replied and I was about to start walking when he spoke again.

"Does your friend know that you are coming?"

"Yes, she does," I replied with a small smile and a simple nod.

"Okay that's great. Nice meeting you Frances," the man said and he stretched out his hand for a handshake. I immediately accepted it out of kindness, but as soon as our hands touched, I felt an electricity run over my core. I felt like I was electrocuted, but it was different. It was not painful, but a bit pleasurable even though it was totally weird.

"S-same here." I replied and I couldn't help but stammer. I hate myself for this.

"See you around, bye," Adrian said as he waved his hand swiftly before he turned around and left. I couldn't help but give him a swift lingering look as he ran away from me.

After that, we separated ways. He went to run to where he would probably need to go while I went to the waiting shed that he pointed at me. It was a common shed that was a bit more comfortable than the normal ones I used to see in the city.

The bench was a bit broader and longer and so was the roof. I sat on the bench and looked up ahead at the view that was in front of me.

The scenery was really beautiful and enchanting. It was surreal. I was already in the midst of believing that I might be under a spell because of the surreal beauty that was in front of me, but I knew that it was all read.

The green were trees like a forest in a park, and outside of it was a flower plantation. I just didn't know what kind of trees those were in front of me since I'm not familiar with agricultural matters. But those tree leaves were very green.

Remembering why I was here, I took out my phone from my pocket and was more than surprised that it already had a low battery. I saw that I had three notifications; messages from Elizabeth, Paige, and Zelda.

The messages all have the same content but were said in different manners. They were all informing me that they were on their way and coming to me.

Shrugging, I opened my bag and took out a snack that I had brought with me as I felt my stomach growling in starvation. After I was done eating a pack of my biscuits, I roamed around the place to look for any presence of my friends.

However, it was all in vain as I still couldn't see any of them. None of them showed up. I couldn't wait for them any longer so I decided to stand up and walk back to the gate of the Cagayan valley to check if they were in there. However, I saw there was a group of men approaching instead. I could see the evident lustful look reflecting from their eyes.

Fear overwhelmed me, and I wanted to run away as fast as I could, but I suddenly felt that there's no strength in my feet and legs. I feel like my feet had already rooted to where I was standing. I couldn't move it no matter how much effort and force I used.

I was shaking and fearful. I was on the stage where I wanted to accept my fate and was willing to die in that place. I suddenly thought that my brother was probably already dead and was eaten by the werewolves, so I should accept the same fate as well.

In fear, I continued to shake right where I stood and chose to close my eyes instead. Taking in whatever might happen next. However, a few minutes already passed and none of them touched me. Instead, I heard a baritone voice that I've heard earlier.

"Are you sure your friend knows you are coming?" He asked again as he stared at me.

I immediately opened my eyes and was surprised that the people I saw earlier weren't there anymore. I roamed my eyes swiftly and there wasn't even a trace that they were there earlier.

I quickly stared at him and nodded my head as my answer as I was still a bit frightened by what I saw earlier. He stared at me for a while as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. It was as if he was assessing me.

"Don't be scared of those guys. They are gone. Now, tell me honestly if your friend knows that you are coming?" He asked again in a firmer manner, but somehow I could still feel his gentleness.

"Yes, she knows. Actually there are five of us who's coming here." I confessed to him.

"Then where are they? If your friend knows that you are coming, she or he should be here by now because it's dangerous to stay outside of the valley. You are safe if you are inside of the valley, but if you step out here, a lot of things might happen to you." Adrian said that instantly made me freak out.

Way to comfort my freaking heart.
