A smile appeared on Jiayi's face as she watched her son look confused. Just before the late heavenly king died, she had told him that Jiu Jan wasn't his son but the son of Fengge. This was actually to fool the prime evil lord so he would have a special connection with her son. The prime evil lord and the late heavenly king never got along for reasons she didn't know. She was afraid that hatred might affect her son. But having Fengge think that Jiu Jan was his son might work in her favor. No matter how much Fengge might have changed, she didn't believe he would denounce his son.

Besides, Jiu Jan was different from them. She doesn't know how it happened but Jiu Jan, although he was a full fledged demon, looked and behaved like a celestial. A pure celestial. How would Fengge hate a pure good innocent boy that reminded him of himself?
