1 Chapter 1- Arrival

On a cozy house sitting atop a steep mountain, An Ling spent his days lost in thought, often staring at the sky. His life took a strange turn when he was reborn into this world after a heart attack took him at only thirty years old.

Before, he was a big fan of books, especially ones about martial arts and adventure. In this new world, An Ling grew up in a family setting that reminded him of the old-fashioned families he read about.

He hoped he might have been reborn into a world like the adventurous stories he loved, but he quickly learned it was dangerous, especially the Murim world where martial arts ruled.

Despite wishing for special powers like the heroes in his books, An Ling didn't have any. Instead of getting involved in the martial world, he preferred a peaceful life away from all the chaos.

As the moon bathed their home in its gentle light, An Ling, brimming with curiosity, sought out his older brother Swang Ling. For days, he had been captivated by the sight of Swang Ling's graceful movements during his martial arts practice, and now he longed to understand more about this ancient discipline.

An Ling: "Hey, big brother! Your martial arts practice has left me intrigued. Could you shed some light on how it all works?"

Swang Ling: "Of course, little brother! I'd be delighted to share what I know. Let's start with the basics. Martial arts is organized into different levels, beginning with what we call third-rate warriors."

An Ling: "Third-rate warriors? What exactly does that entail?"

Swang Ling: "Third-rate warriors are essentially beginners, just taking their first steps into the world of martial arts. They possess a rudimentary grasp of combat techniques but are still in the early stages of their training."

An Ling: "Ah, I see. And what lies beyond the realm of third-rate warriors?"

Swang Ling: "Progressing from third-rate warriors, we encounter second-rate warriors. These individuals have honed their skills further, demonstrating a greater mastery of combat techniques and the ability to execute more advanced moves with ease. They garner respect for their proficiency in martial arts."

An Ling: "Impressive! And what awaits those who ascend even higher?"

Swang Ling: "Ascending further up the hierarchy, we find first-rate warriors. These martial artists are highly skilled and proficient, earning admiration and recognition from their peers for their exceptional abilities."

An Ling: "Fascinating! But what pinnacle awaits those who strive for mastery?"

Swang Ling: "The pinnacle of martial arts excellence is achieved by becoming a peak warrior. These elite fighters are revered for their unparalleled skill and prowess in combat. It requires unwavering dedication and tireless effort to reach such heights."

An Ling: "I aspire to become a peak warrior one day! But is there anything beyond that?"

Swang Ling: "Indeed, there are supreme warriors – individuals who have transcended the boundaries of ordinary mastery, attaining a level of martial prowess that borders on the superhuman. They are legends in their own right, embodying the pinnacle of martial arts mastery."

An Ling: "Such feats seem almost unbelievable! I can hardly contain my excitement to delve deeper into the world of martial arts."

Swang Ling: "Remember, little brother, while aspiring to become a peak warrior is commendable, the journey does not end there. I myself aim to reach the lofty heights of a celestial master, surpassing even the legendary supreme warriors."

An Ling: "Wow, that's truly inspiring, brother!"

Swang Ling: "And what about you, An Ling? What are your aspirations?"

An Ling: "I share your ambition, brother. I too wish to ascend to the ranks of celestial masters."

Their conversation continued long into the night, as An Ling absorbed every word of wisdom imparted by his brother. Yet amidst the excitement and determination, there lingered a shadow of concern.

Swang Ling had observed An Ling's tendency towards laziness and a lack of commitment to his training regimen. It was a concern that weighed heavily on his mind, for he knew that without dedication and perseverance, An Ling's dreams of martial arts mastery would remain but a distant fantasy.

As they bid farewell to the night and retired to their chambers. After that they are called for dinner.

An Ling's father, Suyange Ling, approached him as they both sat down for dinner. His expression was serious, a stark contrast to An Ling's relaxed demeanor.

Suyange cleared his throat, catching An Ling's attention. "Son, I've noticed you seem distant lately. Is everything alright?"

An Ling glanced up, momentarily startled by his father's directness. He paused, contemplating how to respond. "I'm fine, Father. Just lost in thought, I suppose."

Suyange's gaze softened, but concern still lingered in his eyes. "You know, An Ling, life isn't just about daydreaming and reading books. There's a world out there waiting for you to explore. You have potential, son, but you need to find your place in it."

An Ling nodded slowly, digesting his father's words. "I understand, Father. I'll do my best."

Suyange placed a reassuring hand on An Ling's shoulder. "I believe in you, son. But remember, it's not enough to just exist in this world. You must live it, embrace it, and make your mark upon it."

An Ling met his father's gaze, a sense of determination flickering within him. "I won't let you down, Father. I promise."

Suyange Ling's expression was grave as he broached the topic that had been weighing on his mind. "An Ling, I've been thinking," Suyange began, his tone gentle yet firm. "It's time for you to take on a new responsibility."

An Ling raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "What do you mean, Father?"

Suyange leaned forward, his eyes locking with his son's. "I want you to go to the family's old rock mine. It's been abandoned for years, but I believe there's still value to be found there. I want you to refurbish it, make it operational again."

An Ling's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected request. He hadn't anticipated being tasked with such a monumental undertaking. "But Father, why me? Why now?"

Suyange sighed, a hint of sadness tingeing his features. "Because, my son, I see potential in you. You may not have the skills of a warrior, but you possess intelligence and determination. I believe this endeavor will help you discover your strengths and find your place in this world."

An Ling swallowed hard, the weight of his father's words settling heavily upon him. "I understand, Father. I'll do my best to make you proud."

A small smile tugged at the corners of Suyange's lips. "I have no doubt you will, An Ling. Remember, I'll always be here to support you, every step of the way."

After saying goodbye to his family, An Ling left home and made his way to the family's old rock mine.
