Chapter#13: Hello Lauren

The doorbell rang and Della opened it, "Hey Lauren! What a pleasant surprise?"

"Hey! Is Jenifer home?" asked Lauren.

"Yeah, she must be in her room."

"Is she alright, she told me she was in some kind of trouble?"

"She's having a bad fever and burden of work. You know she takes things seriously."

"That is true but she sounded as if she's caught up in some misery."

"Go meet her in her room."

"I was thinking the same."

"I'll bring coffee for you both."

"That'll be lovely."

Knock! Knock!

"Who's there?" asked Jenifer while lying in the bed.

"The witch from the woods." A creepy voice replied.

Jenifer tugged herself in the quilt and closed her eyes tightly. "This is a dream… this is a dream."

"Are you okay Jen?" someone put hand on Jenifer's shoulder.

Jenifer opened her eyes and was glad to see Lauren. She was sweating badly.

"Why are you sweating that much?" asked Lauren.

"I'm in trouble Lauran. Please help me." cried Jenifer.

"Jen calm down. Can you please tell me what actually happened?"

Jenifer told Lauren about that house, her dreams and Medora. She told her about every single thing that had happened, "I'm so confused Lauran."

"Confusion is the chief cause of worries Jen."

"That girl resembles me. It's like she's connected to me somehow."

"This all is having a big secret."

"And the dreams, they're killing me."

"What if someone is playing with you?"

"Playing with me?'

"Yeah! Playing with your dreams."

"How can someone play with anyone's dreams?"

"Jen, there is another world beside this world. It is the world of darkness, magic, demons. It is filled with terror and horror."

"You mean to say that someone has done black magic on me?"

"That's the point."

"But why would someone do that?"

"How would I know that? I don't even know that someone if I could ask him or her the reason."

"What about Kate and Dalton? Are they under magic too?"

"Can't say anything about that, we're not even confirmed if you're under magic."

"I'm caught up with that house. How is this all connected to it?"

"Every house has a dark side and that house is not different but its dark side is much reveled I guess."

"So how is this supposed to connect with this all?"

"Hmmmm… cant guess that."

"I, Kate and Dalton are somehow connected to that house and that house belongs to Medora."

"So you'll get the answers when you meet her."

"I'll meet her on Saturday. At first after seeing the pictures, I and Jack went to the orphanage. We got her address to where she was adopted. We went there and we were told that she only comes on Saturday's to visit the apartment."

"Who's Jack by the way?"

"Don't you remember him?"

"Don't tell me it's that Jack."

"Yes he is and guess what, we're teammates."

"I always told you that you both were connected by heart."

"Laur stop that. I'm not in a mood to joke."

"This is the truth Jen! Accept it."

"It's not the time to waste in such stupid talks."

"Okay calm down. Its only two days left for Saturday."

"A day feels like a thousand years."

"You told me that your dreams were hurting you. How? "

"Whatever scar I get in my dreams, I get it for real."

"You're kidding me, right."

"Same is the case with Dalton and Kate."

"Things are getting messy right now."

"I can't find my way out."

"Jen don't cry. I'll help you to get out. You're not alone in this fight. I'm always there for you."

"Thank you for always being there for me!"

"This is what friends are for. What dream did you have last time?"

"I was lying in my bed and someone knocked at the door. I asked that who's there and then a creepy voice replied the witch from the woods and…"

"Hold on Jen! That is not your dream."

"How can you say that?"

"Because that was me who knocked at the door and you were awake at that time because you asked that who's there."

"Why would you answer like that?"

"I was trying to scare you. I didn't know what you were going through and that you were already scared. I remember you used to be courageous."

"And now I'm getting weaker day by day. It's like something's eating me from inside."

"What dream you had last night?"

"Dalton and Kate came to me and they told that the girl from the dreams is outside and she's screaming. When I peeped out from the window, she was there. I asked her that what she wanted from us and then…"

"Then what Jen?"

Jennifer started to cry.

"It's okay if you can't tell. Don't cry Jen. It'll make you weaker."

"No let me tell. I can fight this. When I turned back, it was Kate and Dalton holding their heads I n their hands and crying out the word revenge in loud voices. I rushed to my bed and closed my eyes tightly. The voices got fainter and fainter and they disappeared. I opened my eyes. There was no one there and it was morning."

"That's a terrible one."

"I don't even know if it's a dream or not."

"What?"

"As far as I remember, I didn't sleep the whole night but mom told me that when she came to wake me up, I was in deep sleep and was burning with fever so she thought not to wake me up."

"That seems like a dream to me."

"But every dream is so real." Jennifer told Lauren about her dreams which she had. Lauren was shocked to hear.

Both the friends had a great time together. Jennifer asked Lauren if she could come with her to meet Medora and Lauren agreed. It was now time for Lauren to leave. Jennifer felt relieved after talking to Lauren. She was happy now but the mystery was not yet solved.
