’Chui Shi’

Shu Wei and Mo Chen, the Shu family head and Mo Clan patriarch, immediately welcomed Qai and the team.

"Good.. good," Mo Chen greeted with a wide smile.

"Patriarch," Qai greeted back as he bowed his head. "We indeed had a good haul," he added.

"Great grandfather," Mo Shui called. "This portion should be enough to give the sect as our levy."

Mo Shui then handed over a spatial ring.

The ring was one of those that Qai took from those they killed but its content was already sorted out from all their harvest. It consisted of various cores and herbs, some of which were thousand-year herbs, plus some weapons they got from the different spatial rings.

"Ho ho," Mo Chen was surprised by what were inside the ring.

"Are you certain we're gonna give them all?" one of the Mo Clan elders asked after he took a peek into the ring.

"Then that must mean our first team has gained a lot inside the wasteland," another elder said.

Most of those around Qai and the team immediately grew their eyes wide. They thought that if what they're truly surrendering was only a tenth, then their total harvest must indeed be huge.

The father and son, Shu Wei and Shu Wu could not hide the smiles on their faces in excitement.

After some breaths, the group finally went to the location where the Purple Mist Sect Master and elders were stationed. The team was assisted by the Mo Clan's patriarch and elders.

"Ahem."

The Mo Clan patriarch proudly approached the Sect Master Han.

"Here's the ten percent share of the sect," the patriarch respectfully said as he handed over the spatial ring.

The Emperor Void in turn peeked into the ring and saw the things inside. He simply smiled and looked at each of the members of the Mo Clan's first team then tossed the ring over to one of the sect elders.

"Good.. this is a great haul..," he mused after looking into its contents, ".. as expected of the Mo Clan disciples."

*************

Soon after, the teams composed of sect disciples arrived.

They directly went to the Sect Master and reported everything especially regarding the treasured cauldron and told about the participation of Mo Clan, the Black Shadow and the intervention of Qai.

"Hmmm," the Emperor Void pondered, "so that's what happened.."

The sect master could clearly imagine what transpired as each sect disciple narrated everything in details especially the portion where Qai took down the three Black Shadow members.

"Good.. good," the sect master commented in reply.

"Sect Master," Duan Mu politely called. "There's one more thing.."

Duan Mu took all their gains and showed them all in front of the sect master and elders.

"These ones are all from the cauldron we mentioned," he said as he pointed on one of the portions of the treasures.

He then bowed and picked the myterious box.

"But this one," he paused after he replied. "We could not open it.. so we have no idea what could be in it."

The Emperor Void simply nodded and gestured the disciple to hand it over to him to which Duan Mu quickly obliged.

After inspecting every corner of the box, the Sect Master mustered his void element and created a space on the surface of the box. He then looked into it and took what was inside.

When he pulled it out, everyone saw what it was.

It was some sort of pendant.

"If I think I'm right," the Emperor Void said with a small grin, "..then this must be a 'Chui Shi'."

"Chui Shi!?"

Everyone had no idea what a 'Chui Shi' is.

Chui Shi was actually the term for a spatial pendant that could store contracted demonic beasts—it was so special that it could store a 'living' beast for a long period of time. However, it could only contain the specific 'contracted' demonic beast. It was yet to be proven whether or not it could also store 'domesticated' demonic beasts.

It was not like Qai was the first to ever 'domesticate' demonic beasts in the history of the cultivation world—it was just that such kind of technique had long been a lost art in a sense. So, there were no written records of anything about 'domesticated' demonic beasts.
