1 Prologue

The storm raged more and more ferociously as the night went on. Both Harry and Lily couldn't even get a wink of sleep. She shivered and turned over, trying to get comfortable, her stomach rumbling with hunger. Eyeing his sister, Harry took off his oversized shirt and wrapped it around his sister's fragile body. Giving a small smile, Harry sat there in silence along with her. Dudley's snores weren't drowned by the heavy and loud thunder, it still can be heard by the other two occupants in the room, making Lily roll her eyes at the sleeping git. The lighted dial of Dudley's watch, which was dangling over the edge of the sofa on his fat wrist, told her that the both of them would be eleven in ten minutes' time. She stared blankly towards the creaky old floor while Harry lay and watched their birthday tick nearer, wondering if the Dursleys would remember at all, not that they would ever care, a small familiar voice rang in his head. Knowing it was his sister, he sighed and waved her off cutting the telephatical connection they just shared. He wondered where the letter writer was now.

Five minutes to go. Harry heard something creak outside, Lily of course oblivious towards the sound, earning a sickening nudge from him. He hoped the roof wasn't going to fall in, 'although it might be warmer for us if it did' Lily barged in on his mind and made a snarky remark, earning a light glare from him 'how did you manage to break in my mind again' he asked mentally, glancing at Lily who was still stsring blankly towards the floor 'Well you can't exactly cut the connection off. After all we're mentally and physically bounded together' he didn't replied to her instead, he focused on Dudley's watch and squinted. Four minutes to go. Maybe the house in Privet Drive would be so full of letters when they got back that he'd somehow be able to steal one for him and his sister.

Three minutes to go. Was that the sea, slapping hard on the rock like that? And (two minutes to go) what was that funny crunching noise? Was the rock crumbling into the sea? 'Or was that just your stomach rumbling loudly since you refused to eat earlier?' Harry now glared hard at his sister who was grinning at him, finally shaken out of her dazed state.

One minute to go and they'd be eleven. Heaven, who knows that whatever rainbow stick gods up there that heard her prayers of wanting to escape this living hell would finally grant her wish 'What the fuck is a rainbow stick god?'  her brother asked her telephatically while giving her a disbelief face. Thirty seconds... twenty... ten... nine -- maybe she'd wake Dudley up, just to annoy him 'No Lily.' 'Party pooper' she pouted-- three... two... one...

BOOM.

The whole shack shivered and Lily jumped into her brother's extremely skinny arms whilst hugging him and shrieking loudly, Harry stared at the door, he seemed to be calculating something while Lily stared back and forth from the door towards her brother. Someone was outside, knocking to come in, and Lily didn't like the idea of being murdered in the middle of no where on her 11th birthday.
