9 Lydia's advice

"They have potential," Elijah said to Elias as he looked from Scott to Stiles. They had both only been bitten last night and yet they were already coming into their supernatural gifts. Elijah paused as he locked gazes with Stiles, it didn't take long for Stiles to visibly shiver and look away.

"Let's go, Elias, I may have forgotten to show you one last place."

Elias nodded turning to follow his father, he had a feeling he would create amazing memories at this school.

"Thank you for showing us around Elias will be here tomorrow, I hope the school takes care of him."

"You have my word." The principal said seriously, not only did he need the money so did the school.

Elias followed his father until no one was around to see them, they disappeared vamp speeding away.

They stopped in front of a huge house, some would say it was a mansion. An Arrow Blue Porsche 918 sat in the long driveway and Elias was immediately mesmerized by it and the house.

"Whichever friend this is has to be rich," Elias said looking to his father who only smiled.

"This isn't one of my friends' houses, Elias it's ours." Elijah pulled out a pair of keys one led to the house the other to the car.

"The cars yours I can't have you vamp speeding around town people will get suspicious."

"But I don't know how to drive," Elias said reaching for the key anyways.

"Well, you have all day to learn before you do let's get everything inside settled." Elias entered the house, it was just as beautiful on the inside.

He grew up in a small house with his sister and his grams, they didn't struggle but they were in no way rich. Seeing huge houses and expensive cars would amaze anyone.

Looking around he noticed there were bags of food, including bags of blood. He was a hybrid but even before he knew that he ate regular food to survive.

Human blood to him was like a dessert, only one most people should never try. He usually stayed away from it but he knew it could come in handy especially in a sticky situation.

Besides the food, there were his clothes they had recently bought. He looked around the already furnished house, pictures hung on the wall of him. In one picture he sat next to bonnie, behind him stood three adults, in the middle to Shelia Bennett his grams. on the right stood his father and on the left stood Niklaus Michaelson himself.

He remembered that day vividly it was his birthday and his grams and uncle Niklaus put aside their differences for a day. It had become a tradition to meet up on his birthday yesterday was the first time since it had begun that they didn't meet up. Apparently, His father and his uncle were currently angry at each other, Elias wasn't privy to the reason why.

"We'll clean up in here before I teach you to drive."

Elias smiled hearing that before he disappeared in a gust of wind. The bags of food vanished first magically appearing in the refrigerator and cupboards. Next were hired clothes which he quickly hung in a random room's closet. Last was the blood bags which has to be stored in the basement, placed neatly in freezers separated by type.

He soon appeared in front of his father holding the key to the Porsche in his hand.

The rest of the day was father-son bonding time, Elijah was a great teacher. He took his time to explain things thoroughly leaving no room for error.

He listened to Elias's questions answering the best he could and by the time nighttime came Elias seemed perfectly capable of handling himself out on the road.

After eating pizza and doing a little exploring Elias decided to head off for bed.

"Night Dad," Elias said heading up the stairs.

"Sleep, well son." Elijah waited for a little listening for Elias's breathing, once he was sure he was sleeping he vamp sped away. He stopped in front of a black SUV just outside the woods.

Entering the vehicle he was greeted by a middle-aged man wearing a black trench coat.

"It's nice to see you again old friend, it's just too bad this isn't a social call." the man spoke with a smile.

"What I need from you is simple, keep a leash on your hunters. If I have to do it myself let's just say I don't know how many I'll be able to leave alive."

"We don't interfere in vampire business why are you interfering in ours."

"Because my son's starting school in this town and I'd like it if I didn't have to destroy a family of renown hunters to send a message."

"Your son," Chris paused letting that piece of information sink into his mind. " I'll keep them in line but I'll need a favor."

Elijah nodded he saw no reason to deny Chris as a friend he at least owed him that.

The next morning

Elias arrived at school parking his car in the first open spot he could find. Through the window, he could see people starting at the car, though two people looked more annoyed than anything.

Scott and Stiles assumed the person driving the car was Jackson, and boy did they hate Jackson.

Elias stepped out of the car ignoring the looks of surprise on some people's faces. Heading inside Elias didn't get far before he heard a voice, "Mr.Michaelson." Elias turned around to see the principal smiling beckoning for him to confer closer.

"Let meet introduce you one of Beacon Hills finest, Lydia Martin."

Elias turned to see a cherry blonde bombshell with her hand extended.

"Elias Michaelson, nice to meet you." Elias shook her hand politely before letting go.

"Come along since our schedules are mostly the same, I was begged to show you from class to class." Lydia immediately started walking, Elias smiled before following.

"Listen closely, your family may be rich but unless you want to buy your friends you're gonna wanna follow my advice. 1st of all stay away from the geeks, those aren't the smart people. Smart people know how to adapt to the social hierarchy of high school. Your car and looks alone will get most girls to fall head over hills for you but if you want a queen like me you're gonna have to play lacrosse. Stay away from the loners like Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, and Vernon Boyd."

"So I should be smart and act dumb, hiding amongst the sheep?" Elias raised an eyebrow, hearing his question Lydia paused in her tracks.

"This is high school, you're either popular or you're not. You're rich so maybe you think that excludes you from social norms, but if you genuinely want people to like you, you have to sacrifice." Lydia stopped in front of their 1st-period class.

"I don't think I'm willing to be someone I'm not to please a bunch of people I could care less about. Thank you for the advice allow me to return the favor, be yourself if people don't like you for who you are it's their loss." Elias headed inside standing next to the teacher's desk.

Lydia watch as he walked away, she thought she was helping him but as it turns out he ended up helping her. Honestly, she was tired of this facade doing her best to make idiots feel good about themselves. It was time she made friends, real friends that didn't mind her IQ level.

Walking in class she stopped in front of Elias, " Don't make me regret this Elias, I'll be your first friend here at Beacon Hill High and you'll help by being the first friend to known who I truly am." Lydia turned around heading towards her seat.

Elias could only quietly kick himself he honestly had no interest in being friends with Lydia.

The teacher soon entered directing Elias to one of the students who lacked a partner. "Mr. Stalinski I hope you'll take care of our new student since he'll be your new partner for the remaining of the semester."

Stiles looked up from his note pad he was writing in staring at Elias he couldn't help but be a little suspicious of him.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Stiles Stilinski." Stiles extended his hand and Elias did the same. "Elias Michaelson," Elias used a bit of strength as he squeezed Stiles's hand, " It's nice to meet you as well."
