1 Prologue

"Haa...ha...a..haa..." While I wonder where my feet would take me, I couldn't stop myself from running. Despite my breathing growing heavy which is a clear sign of exhaustion, I keep moving. If I stop here...that thing will catch up, I can't stop! I simply couldn't!

I could feel my legs ache due to the long sprint—I wanted to take a break, my heart tells me so. I'm not really an active type of a person to begin with, this is just too much for someone like me.

Thump! Crash!

No! I need to speed up my pace! I need to find someone, just anyone! With a single goal in my head, I gritted my teeth and keep running along the quiet and empty hallways. Why did I foolishly decide to come to school in the middle of the night? I love horror, but that doesn't mean I want to experience the real horror itself!

It's sorta fun seeing people getting scared, or fearing for their lives in the movie. But in real life however, that's not even funny, so don't ever joke around with that.

At first, I simply thought it would just be a walk in the park. As much as I love horror, I don't really believe that ghost exists. Which brought the confidence I had that was immediately shattered to pieces by what I witnessed a moment ago. It opened my eyes and broaden my worldview, everything was fine until whatever horror that comes from, decided to hunt me down for whatever reason I couldn't comprehend.

Is it because I saw it? So now it decided to kill me to shut my mouth? Without a doubt, that must be an evil ghost—something that will certainly hurt me if it ever catches me.

Although I wanted to prove my point that ghost doesn't exist to my friend, how would I know back then that I will not only see a real one but also being chased down by it? If possible, I wish I could turn back time and apologize to my friend. I shouldn't be so foolish, but there was no medicine for regret, especially my current predicament which doesn't allow me to waste any further energy—I need to get to the exit!

There should've been a few guards at the entrance and around the school's premises since I remembered seeing them when I secretly sneaked into the school. Yet how could they not hear the noises from my footsteps and whatever is chasing me down? There's no way they would leave a frail high school student like me and flee to save their own lives, right?

"AAAAAAARGH!"

I was about to scream for my dear life when my right hand promptly covered my mouth before I could let out a sound. That creepy shriek...is it getting angry because it couldn't catch me? Just leave me alone already!

I went down the stairs with each careful step creating a minimal sound as I possibly could. However, despite my bestest effort, as if it could sense or smell me from afar, I could hear thumping noises on the second floor heading toward my location at a reasonable speed.

Without a second thought, I simply jumped when I'm only a few stairs away from the ground, and thankfully, I didn't hurt my ankle and quickly run to the exit. Just when I pushed the door of the exit and went outside the building, I was relieved for only a moment until I heard a shattering sound right above my head as if something just launched and break the glasses in one single instant. I didn't need to look up to figure out as it already fell right in front of me with a heavy thump.

With the head of a child but hollow on the place where the eyes should be, the body was made of unrecognizable animal parts, and to add even more horrors, it have many limbs which were used like spider legs to walk around—it was nothing short but true abomination.

And this thing was the one I came across in my school, right inside my classroom no less. It was the thing that has been chasing me around since then. Now that it catch up to me, am I finally meeting my unfortunate fate which is to be killed by this disgusting abomination?

Move, legs! Move! No matter how much I willed it, my legs won't move at all! I feel like the floor is grabbing onto me, yet I know that's just my delusion at work due to the fear I feel at this moment. Am I really going to die here? I haven't even dated anyone yet!

Grooooaar!

"Hiii!" I screamed and plummet flat on the ground. It's too late, I can't do anything. When it began walking closer, I can see my life flashed before my eyes. People say that when you see your flashing before your eyes, that means I am...really going to die. When it swings its long stretchy arm at me, I couldn't even blink my eyes at the sheer speed of it, but before it reached me, a shadow flashed in front of me, and the fearsome monster flew back.

"Y-You are..." What I thought was shadow was actually someone I knew, someone especially close to my friend. Itou Yuuji, my senior and the boyfriend of my girl friend. Of all people, I didn't expect to see him here and now.

"Stand back," he muttered without turning his back, probably meant for me. Even if he is here, how is he going to fight against that abomination? I didn't see it clearly a moment ago, but he certainly did something that caused the monster to fly back a couple of meters away. But can his attack even hurt it?

As she expected, the abomination quickly stood back up like it was nothing while growling like a beast. How can someone even beat it? Maybe he could tell what I was thinking, Yuuji-senpai suddenly turned his head and smile at me, perhaps he's reassuring me? Onto the next second, he recklessly charges at the monster.
