1 World order

Johnny Deckerson, a thirty something jock of a man, was in the training room doing some target practice. But unlike most people he didn’t have a gun or bow or anything. All he had were his hands. Which shot a faint blueish white light from them. He performed many unnecessary trick shots. He even blew his last target a kiss goodbye. Johnny was satisfied with his performance but he was still bored. He needed something real to shoot. He wanted an audience to amaze. He turned on the auto cleaners and left the room. The main hall had a few scientists moving about, all relaying messages. A pair of men in robes chanted in front of a floating orb. Half human, half beast creatures walked along with no one giving them an awkward glance. A large symbol of a sword with wings was imprinted on the floor. The word Archangel over the logo. A wall nearby had the text Order of Light with a mass amount of portraits, a memorial to the past fallen warriors. The Order originated centuries ago and had a wide array of well-known and often thought mythical heroes. Over the decades they’ve expanded across the globe, each place giving themselves a new code name. They were in charge of keeping monsters at bay and secret from the human world. Johnny walked up to man at a computer “Hey Stew, anything cool going on that needs my attention?” he asked “My name is Stewart, thank you. And no.” the man at the computer said. “Seriously?” Johnny asked “Nothing. In all of America. No Vampires, werewolves. A pissed off elf?” “No Mr. Deckerson, and you know full well our location only monitors Washington and the surrounding states, not all of America.” Johnny gave Stewart an unwelcome nuggie “That’s still a big area, hard to believe everything is quiet.” “I don’t know what to tell you.” Stewart said. Johnny stepped back and gave a noise of disappointment. He saw Peter Cunningham, a slightly less out of shape guy than Johnny, walk by “Yo Pete!” Peter stopped “Sup John?” “You wanna get out of here and grab a beer?” it was a dumb question, Peter always wanted a beer “Hell yeah.” Johnny turned back to Stewart as they walked away “Call me if anything interesting comes up Stew.” The two men walked off and Stewart seemed happy to go back to work without the pair around.

The other scientists continued their work as usual. Sargent Major Roger Kennedy an elderly war hero came in to the main hall and talked to strange creatures that had gathered there about what was expected. “You will be allowed to live wherever you wish as long as no harm comes to any humans. I know some might be dumb enough to enter your respective territories but that doesn’t give you an excuse to kill them. Just stay hidden if possible, it will be easier for us all. We all want peace and quiet and we all deserve that. If something does happen we will wipe the human’s memory. If the worst happens we will be forced to take you down.” Roger returned to his bland office and pushed a button. A hallowgram of two elderly men, one of which still strong looking with a thick full beard and a middle-aged woman in armor stood in the room. “Greetings Zeus. Ms. Pendragon. Le Baugh.” “How’s everything going down there?” Le Baugh asked?” “Right now things are oddly slow in our area but it may just be the calm before the storm. So, why isn’t Merlin joining us?” “He is training Victoria.” Sasha Pendragon said. She was a beautiful woman and strong warrior as anyone would expect from a descendant of King Arthur. “Wasn’t there a better time to do that?” Zeus asked. He was not really the king of the Greek gods, it was just a code name. Much like his son had been made Hercules, though both men had had a great extension on their life due to their powers. “Her training is very important, you know that.” Sasha said. “Fine.” Zeus said “Where are we on the Vamp-wolf war?” he asked her “Both sides are being kept at bay thanks to Van Helsing and Shiako. Neither wants to face his power.” Shiako was a grand warlock with an army of wizards and witches. Elrik Van Helsing was also a descendant of the original. “Well, I trust Van Helsing but you know Shiako has his own agenda.” Roger said. “Obviously.” Sasha said “He wants to take over the world too, which is why Merlin is training Victoria. We need more power on our side.” “Ok, I get it.” Zeus said “Sorry, I didn’t mean to take a jab at you sir.” Zeus waved it off. “Anything else we need to worry about?” Le Baugh asked “Our seers say there will be an issue in Florida in a week.” Roger said. “But it hardly seems like something that will be that much trouble.” “Sure would be nice if or prediction team could be less vague.” Zeus said “We’re going to be having a gorgon problem here but they can’t say when.” “Indeed.” Roger said “But the info is good when it counts. We were able to stop those mole-men from causing an earthquake last year.” The others nodded “We should try to get more of our branches involved in these meeting sometime.” Le Baugh said “This is my first in a while it seems.” “We’ll let each other know when something big is on the way but otherwise this is just a formality.” Roger said “I guess we’re done then?” Sasha asked “For now, yes.” Roger said “Good luck with those gorgon’s Zeus.” Sasha said before flashing off “As if my team needs luck with such things.” Zeus said and he and Le Baugh disappeared as well.

Roger turned and a photo on his desk caught his eye, he went over and picked it up. Himself as a General with two other men, they were all much younger then. Though it was there all the time, most times he saw it brought back memories. Twenty years ago, Korea. General Roger Kennedy led a small group into a battle zone. They fired on the unseen enemy and retreated to a nearby village. Whoever was after them had been controlling the village for goods and using the women for other needs. The mission was to liberate the village. The team took out the guards along the way but there was still someone out there shooting at them from somewhere, they needed cover. Roger directed a five man group to circle around behind the shooter or shooters. He had three guard the back four in front. They kept themselves defended while taking out the enemy nearby. They waited for the gunfire from the woods to stop. One man near Roger was shot in the head and went down. The rest regrouped and tried to find new cover. A small group of Korean soldiers came from behind a building and were mowed down by gunfire. The team could hear civilians hiding in fear. Roger sent three of the men around the village to remove any more unwanted visitors. It left him with the two men from the picture. The gunfire from outside died down and a whistle was heard. The enemy was taken out. That was one less problem. “Derek. William. Watch each other.” Roger commanded the two. They all stood almost back to back to back as they wandered the village, they heard another commotion. Two people yelling. They moved to the area the voices were coming from to seem men attacking a child. William rushed them and clubbed one in the back of the head. He fell unconscious and the other ran off only to be shot. William went to help the boy up, the little one looked up. He had small horns and his eyes glowed yellow. William stumbled back and raised his gun to the child as Derek and Roger came up. William’s gun flew out of his hand and into Roger’s “What are you doing?” he asked. Derek looked at the child in confusion then even more confusion at Roger Kennedy. “What the hell is it, sir?” William said “And how do you have my gun now? What the hell is going on?” Derek looked at the scared child and suddenly that was all he saw. He pulled out a candy bar which the child slowly took. “This child is an innocent victim.” Roger said “Treat him as such.” Derek nodded, though he still looked confused. “But what is he?” William said “What are you?” he pulled his side arm, Roger waved his hand and the gun flew away again. William fell over and screamed “What the fuck!” “Calm yourself, please.” Roger said “Are you…Do you have telekinesis?” Derek asked, starting to get a little impressed. “You mean powers?” William said “Yes.” Roger said “My...organization gave me them?” “The army?” William said and stood. “No. Another, higher authority.” Roger said “Do you know what we could do if we had more men with these powers?” William asked. Roger pulled out a small device “Just forget everything you saw here.” he said as he pressed the button.

In Greece, Zeus left his office after the meeting and entered an equally large and lavish lobby area full of grand pillars and sculptures. There was the same memorial wall with the original name, Order of light. On the floor, a different logo was in place. A Delta with a lightning bolt through it surrounded by the typical leafy border. The word Olympians over it. Much the same as the American counterpart, there were scientists, workers and all kinds of creatures walking about. A blue streak zipped past Zeus, papers flying everywhere “Mercury, slow down.” Zeus demanded. Mercury, dressed in a blue shirt and jeans, stopped and looked at the mess. He looked apologetically and cleared up the mess in a flash. Mercury was also a code name, his real name was Trent Moralis. “Sorry sir.” Trent said “Have you seen my son?” Zeus asked “Him and Lance went out. Looking for the labyrinth.” Lance was Lance Diakos. He had inherited his family’s eyes which could see through magic, mind control and other things to see the truth. He was an asset and the team leader. “They’ve been looking for that for almost a decade, when are they going to give up?” Zeus asked “We have better things to do. And what if we need them?” Trent tried not to look afraid but he failed. He did not want to get on Zeus’s bad side. A somewhat large female came up and slightly bowed “Sir, we have a small troll issue in Athens.” She said “See.” Zeus said “Well, you two might be able to handle it but bring a team with you. I’ll try to call Hercules and Lance back to meet you. Artemis, if they don’t get there, you’re in charge.” Artemis, AKA Lana Katia, nodded and the two of them walked away.
