Knowledge or Death

The seven days passed casually, with the only exception that in his free time he trained both at swordsmanship and at forging. He gained a decent experience with Kenoni.

On the 7th day of the break he got, just 2 hours before the next phase of the training, he found Maju standing outside of the blacksmith.

"Hey, kid. Are you ready to go?"

"Go where?"

"Somewhere with a lot of space and without people, I don't want to cause trouble at the neighboring warehouses , explode or something."

*What kind of training is it gonna be, that it could explode the other warehouses?*

"Anyway, Big B, I'm leaving for the training."

The two of them left the city and took the small path leading to a mountain. After one hour of walking , the finally got there.

"So, are you ready for the lesson kid?"

"Just get with it, we didn't walk for a whole hour just to leave."

"Ok then. Did you bring my 100 CC?"

"Yes yes."

"We will now proceed to very dangerous method, are you willing to follow me?"

*Again, what kind of method will it be? I'm more curious, than scared.*

"I see, let's begin then."

"Can you stop reading my mind?"

"Well, it's not my fault that you can't lock your thoughts. Anyways, stand in the center of the field."

Azar went where he was told to, then Maju started casting. A big circle from above and below Azar appeared.

*Hmmm just a regular red one. I see, nothing special till now.*

The just above the red one a green circle appeared. They, started getting closer and closer, in the end the circles infused and created a yellow circle. Before Azar expressed his excitement a red and a blue infused creating a purple.

*I would be so amazed if i saw that, without me being in the center of it.*

Azar, was ready for everything. The two big circles , the yellow from above and the purple bellow were slowly getting closer to each other, finally infusing at Azar's waist, making a red one.

Maju was exhausted and Azar was confused.

*Why would he make two incredible strong circles and then making them a red...*

Before he finished his thoughts Maju shouted some words in an unknown language. Chains appeared inside from the circle locking Azar in place, then the other side of the chains rooted in the ground.

Azar was unable to move. Maju started casting again and in a matter of seconds a cyan circle appeared.

"Hey, kid! don't get comfy there, if you won't escape in half an hour you could die. You see that cyan circle, it is a magic circle from a green and a blue circle infused, if you don't get serious, you will die."

Azar looked up, then checked the chains. When he tried to move the chains just dug the ground more.

*So what he mean is, if i don't break the chains somehow, i will die, but when i move the chains are digging the ground more, leaving less and less space to physical power, which means i should use magic to break them. The only problem is I DON'T FUCKING KNOW HOW TO USE MAGIC!*

Azar squatted down, trying to think a way to escape.

*Not only that, Kenoni isn't able to help cause he took her. The only way is to figure out how to use magic.*

10 minutes passed, Azar had his eyes closed trying to create magic, but , nothing that he tried worked out. He knew how to control his mana flow, he also tried infusing his mana with the chains but the only thing he accomplished was to make the chains go deeper. It was a serious situation. He had no clue how to do anything.

Another 10 minutes passed, Azar checked Maju , he was clearly interested with what could happen. Azar's mind worked feverishly.

"Kid, you better harry up 5 minutes remaining."

"SHUT UP! I'M THINKING!"

*What, else can i try, in 5 minutes i will die. Come on mind, think something!*

At the last minute remained, Maju got up, draw something at the ground and left. A huge lightning hit the ground.

*I'm sorry kid. It just wasn't meant to be. Rest in piece.*

Maju went back to the city, told, the disappointing news to Big B, headed to his house and thought about some other ways, easier ones, that he could teach Azar magic.

*He was just so... interesting. I seriously thought he could do something big. The truth is way more disappointing, he didn't even used magic. What was so interesting about him for Kenoni though... He was manaless and powerless. I guess i could go to sleep and tomorrow go make him a grave to Kamima.*

Like he said, the next morning he got up, went to the huge crater he created, while killing Azar. He started casting a spell. At last when he finished a small plant appeared from the ground. But it immediately withered.

Astonished Maju started running to the crater. Amazed Azar was still there, alive.

*I swear, this little ignorant kid, i will kill it for sure next time.*

Azar suddenly opened his eyes, broke the chains and looked at Maju.

"Hey, how long are you gonna stare me like you have seen a ghost?"

"I have a lot of questions."

"Yea, i could kill you right here and right now, but you still have secrets from me. Did i prove something to you, like, I AM NOT AN IGNORANT KID."

"Hey, chill. You agreed when i told you the risks, i have no responsibility. Now tell me, how are you still alive."

"Well, I was quite surprised myself. Just when the lightning's light reached my eyes, i looked up and the lighting disappeared, then i saw that i had created a white circle just below me, the chains started getting tighter, they got so much tight i couldn't breath, and fainted, this crater was here after i woke up."

"I'm... amazed. Do you know how to make a white circle?"

"Well, if i'm not wrong you must infuse a yellow, a purple and a cyan circle together."

"Exactly... Even i can't cast a white circle, i mean, i can but i have to waste 3 days and many magic items to hold the circles open, so i can rest and regenerate mana."

"Which is why you are so amazed?"

"Exactly. Kid, you are full of mysteries. Let's go back now, I told Big B that you are dead, so let's end this misunderstanding fast."

"Okay. But wait a minute."

Azar turned and faced the crater. He raised his hand, and finally, a red circle from his hand appeared a small fireball launched from inside.

"Finally! Can you, make another one and hit mine?"

"Let's test it."

Maju made a small fireball, Azar launched another one and control it with his hand

"You just jumped the last phase, now i can't do more, the only thing you need now is experience."

"Thank you for almost killing me three times."

"My pleasure."

When they returned to Etan, they went to Big B's blacksmith, Big B was in a verge of tears when he saw Azar, but Azar didn't say anything he looked at him, waved him and left to the inn. He stayed there until the end of the month. In the meantime he is now able to forge things on the go and created some spells.

He also learned that the country he currently is called Futsu, a country with no real specialization or for those who remember Futsu's history The great Phoenix Empire. Education wasn't necessary at that world so very few, the older ones know some things passed down to them or the educated people knew the history of that world.

Azar is finally able to leave Etan and continue his journey, to understand this new world and it's secrets.
