68 Team Battles
"This person will explain everything to you just like every other year. Most of you already know him." The principal said, handing the man a microphone.
Nobody knew who the man was, except for a few people. The man was always the host for every tournament so very well known throughout the whole school. He's quite mysterious since barely anyone knows his real name or what his purpose was.
"For this tournament this year, we are going to do team battles!" The man announced.
The man was in a black suit. He's also wearing a black and white mask and a fancy, black, top hat.
Many students cheered while a few others booed.
"If you don't know the rules or what team battle is, I shall explain it to you right now. There are two types of team battles. The first type is when one team fights another one. The second type is when multiple teams compete to obtain or finish the objective given. It may be racing or collecting points. This year, we are going to do both. Today is the first round of the tournament. During the first round of the tournament, teams will compete to obtain points. The top 4 teams with the most points will later fight each other but that won't happen yet. I'll explain that to you later on when the first round of this tournament ends. Although there's a huge stadium for the teams to fight in, you won't be fighting there. Everyone who's participating in the tournament must bring the watch we gave you on the first day of the school year. Each one of your watches is unique since none of them are the same." The man continued.
Every student in Starim Academy is given a personal watch of their own. It's a pocket watch provided by the school and they have to bring it with them at all times. The watch is small enough to fit in a pocket and it has chains on it. The watches uses roman numerals and it works like a normal watch. Nobody knows why they have to bring it with them at all times but nobody complained because it's not bothersome. However, some students lose it. No one would want to lose the watch because they know something bad would happen if they do. After all, the principal is very strict.
"Anyway, each team will be teleported to a dimension where you will have to fight monsters to earn points. The stronger the monster, the more points will be given. Simple, isn't it? The time limit is 5 hours. The only rules are, you can't wear, use, or bring any armor, potions, or magical items. All teams, please go to the back of the stadium to get ready. You have 10 minutes!" The man said.
"Let's get going!" Karina said excitedly.
Rem, Karina, Yukino, Yukio, and Kaito walked towards the back of the stadium while chatting a little on the way there.
"Wow... Even the back of the stadium is huge..!" Yukino said, amazed.
"Of course it is. This is Starim Academy after all!" Kaito said proudly.
The back of the stadium has many rooms. Each team would get their personal room.
"Your team is Ver, correct?" A woman wearing normal clothing asked.
"Yes." Rem replied.
"You guys will be in room 2. Use this card to enter your room. In your room, you would have to change into a new uniform." The woman said, handing the card to Rem.
"Got it, thanks." Rem took the card from the woman and nodded.
The group of 5 walked to their room.
'A door that needs a card to open..? This looks quite modern...' Rem thought.
Rem swiped the card and the door automatically opened.
"Whoa... I knew Starim Academy was amazing but I never knew they had this kind of technology!" Karina's mouth was opened wide in amazement.
All of them entered their room. The room has a total of 6 changing rooms, 3 on each side. In the room, there's also one huge couch, 2 smaller couches, a table with fruits on it, a trash can, and a few decorations such as paintings and flower pots.
"This must be our uniforms. Each uniform even has a label that has our names on it. How convenient!" Yukino said.
Yukio nodded in agreement.
"Let's quickly change. We only have a few minutes to do so." Rem said, grabbing her uniform, walking towards an empty changing room.
The others nodded and they also grabbed their uniform and went to their own changing room to change. After changing, Rem walked out of the changing room and sat on the small couch. She was the first one to finish changing.
'The uniform is fortunately very comfortable despite it being a skirt.' Rem thought, approving the uniform.
For the inner part of the uniform, it was just a plain white, thin shirt. The outter part of the uniform, was a black, suit-like jacket. The jacket doesn't have any buttons or zippers but it did have the school sign at the top left of the uniform. At the left side of her jacket, there's a small pocket where Rem could put the watch. A piece of fabric that's arched is located at the bottom left of the jacket. That was there so people can attach the watch's chain to it. This way, it wouldn't fall or become easily lost. Of course, there was also a black and white plaid tie and a black and white plaid skirt. Beneath the skirt, Rem had to wear black shorts. Their shoes and socks stayed unchanged.
"Are you guys done changing yet? We're going to have to leave in one minute." Rem said, after looking at her watch.
"Yeah, I'm done!" Karina said, exiting her changing room.
"Met too!" Yukino said, also exiting her changing room.
Karina and Yukino wore the same uniform as Rem. Yukio quietly exited after he finished changing without saying anything.
"Done." Kaito said, exting his changing room.
The boys wore the same uniform except they wore a black tie and black pants.
'Come to think of it, how did they know my size??!' Rem wondered.
"All teams, please come to the stadium right now!" The principal announced.
'She must be using magic again...' Rem thought, exiting the room.
"I know we've been training a lot but I still don't feel confident..." Yukino said quietly.
"It's fine. We will win. I'll make sure we do." Rem replied.
The team entered the stadium. They were the last ones to arrive.
"Now that all the teams are here, please stand in the middle of the stadium over there and stand in the magic circle." The man said, pointing to the magic circle.
The teams did what they were told.
"The first round of this tournament will finally start!" The man yelled.
After the man said that, everyone disappeared and were teleported somewhere.
