81 Gaining Trust

'Urgh, my head...' Rem sat up as she rubbed her head.

She took a glance at her surroundings.

'Did I pass out? Roy..!' Rem looked around her but she didn't see Roy anywhere.

"Roy! Where are you, Roy?" Rem stood up and was about to exit the cave.

"You're awake!" The boy said, blocking Rem from exiting.

He was holding a handful of fruit. The boy has the same colored hair and eyes as Rem. He has short, black hair and red eyes. He was wearing villager clothes. Although his shirt and pants looked very worn out and old, he looked like the boy version of Rem.

'Who is he? His presence feels familiar... Is he..?'

"Roy?"

"Yes?"

"You're Roy???" Rem was slightly confused.

"Yeah. During the time I was away, I evolved again. After evolving, I could use more of your skills. Before, I could only use a few. " Roy explained.

"I see..." Rem was surprised but it made sense to her.

'Huh..? A quest? From the system???' Rem looked at the quest.

'Where are the 7 kings?'

'I'll try...' Rem closed her eyes and imagined the even elements in her head.

'I can feel a powerful presence..! No, not one... How many are there?'

"Were you the one who called us?" A voice asked.

Rem opened her eyes. In front of her, there were seven humans.

'Who are they? Are they human or another being..?' Rem wondered.

"If it's not me who called you out, who did?" Rem asked.

"I like your attitude, human. It's very... Daring." The man with long red hair and golden eyes said.

"Thank you I guess?" Rem wasn't sure who they were.

'Are they the 7 kings?'

"Then I'll introduce myself first. I am Aiden, ruler of the flames." The man who talked to Rem previously stated.

"I'm Lynn. I rule over the water element..." The woman with long, curly, aqua-colored hair and ocean blue eyes said.

"It's nice to see you again, Rem!" The woman with dark green hair and forest green eyes chimed in.

Rem raised her right brow and asked, "Do I know you?"

"How mean... I was the one you saved at the temple! Remember that spirit? It was me! C'mon!!! How could you forget???" The woman pouted, with a disappointed look on her face.

"Oh..! Yes, I remember. What was your name again? Alezh? Alize? Alice???" Rem glanced at the woman.

"Wrong, wrong, and wrong! I can't believe you didn't even remember my name!!! My name's Alizeh and I control the wind element!" The woman introduced herself.

"Right..!" Rem said awkwardly.

'It's not like I can remember every single person's names I meet... Remembering names are too hard!'

"Greetings. I'm Raijin. I'm known for being the ruler of the lightning element." The man with short, dark brown hair and purple eyes said.

"Kage, ruler of the shadows." The man with short, black hair and piercing grey eyes said.

'Kage? Doesn't Kage and Kager sound quite similar..? Does he know anything about what a Kager is? Hm... Maybe I'm just overthinking.'

"I'm Izek, king of the earth element. Let's fight someday!" The man with long, light brown hair and orange eyes said fiercely, showing off his muscles at Rem.

'I have no words...'

"Nice to meet you! I'm Noemi, ruler of the light element." The woman with blond hair and golden eyes said warmly.

"Isn't it time you introduce yourself?" Aiden asked, crossing both of his arms.

"I'm Rem."

"Well, I can sense that you are not a human. Anyways, why did you call us?" Aiden asked.

"I want to gain the trust of all 7 of you." Rem said, getting straight to the point.

"Oh? Why?" Aiden raised his right brow.

"Don't worry, I don't have any bad intentions. I mean, can't we become comrades who help each other out?" Rem suggested.

"Alright... All of us have our standards. It depends on who you want to gain the trust of. You're interesting so I don't mind helping you. I like your personality. You know, it's been ages since someone called us out." Aiden shrugged.

"That's true. It really has. It's been so long I can't even keep track of how long it was." Raijin said, nodding his head in agreement.

"Here, take this." Aiden threw something at Rem.

Rem caught the item Aiden threw at her and observed it. The item Aiden threw at Rem was red and it has a unique design on it. Rem could feel the power in this badge-like item.

"What's this?" Rem was curious about what the item Aiden gave her was.

"It's just something I made when I was bored. It looks cool, doesn't it? At the middle of the item, there's a gem. This gem holds a little bit of my power. You can use that whenever you're in trouble but be careful... My flame powers are dangerous. Never use it recklessly." Aiden warned.

"Okay, thanks."

"Take mine as well." Raijin threw something at Rem.

As expected, Rem caught it. The item also has a gem in the middle. The purple gem gives off a powerful lightning sensation. The design of the item was unique as well.

"Thanks..." Rem stored the items from Aiden and Raijin in her inventory.

"Rem, take mine too! When we share our powers, we usually give them in an item. For example, that gem. That gem can store our powers." Alizeh tried explaining, using her wind magic to hand her gem to Rem.

Rem took the green gem and stored that in her inventory.

"Hm... I can bring you to an area where it's safe!" Alizeh said.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't go!!! I want to share some of my powers too!" Izek complained.

Izek threw his gem at Rem using a portion of his strength. Rem caught the gem easily.

"What are you doing??? You do know this can hurt a normal human, right?" Alizeh scolded.

"But Rem caught it without any problems... I just wanted to test her strength! We were playing catch!!!" Izek whined.

"I can't believe you..!" Alizeh sighed about how childish Izek is.

"It's fine. I'm not hurt." Rem announced.

"Wow, you're pretty strong!" Izek was surprised since whenever he did this to others, they would either die or get seriously hurt.

"Please take mine as well." Lynn waved her hand and chanted.

Water appeared and it carried a blue gem with a different design on it to Rem.

"Thanks." Rem accepted the gem and stored the other gems she got in her inventory.

'I wonder why they put their powers in a gem? Alizeh said it was because the gem's sturdy but why the unique design around the gem?'

"If you don't mind, take mine too." Noemi handed Rem her gem personally.

"If you think you can simply gain my trust by summoning me, you're wrong. I won't give my powers, trust, or anything to a creature I just met." Kage said coldly.

"Then what do you want me to do in order for me to gain your trust?" Rem asked.

"Show me your true form," Kage said sternly.

"Yeahhh!!! I'm also curious about how your appearance is. We already know that you're not human but we don't know how you really look like since this isn't your real form." Alizeh stared at Rem curiously.

"Alright." Rem shifted back to her monster form.

"This is..." Kage muttered.

'Why is he acting like that? Does he know something about Kagers?'

"How interesting..!" Aiden stated.

"Wow!!!" Izek looked at Rem, jumping everywhere like a little kid.

"Take it." Kage threw his gem at Rem.

"Thanks."

"Okay, let's go." Rem glanced at Roy, indicating that she wanted him to come.

Alizeh created a magic circle.

"Come in here!" Alizeh said.

Roy ran to the magic circle, standing next to Rem.

"Brace yourselves! We're leaving now!" Alizeh activated the magic circle.

Alizeh's, Rem's, and Roy's slowly turned into blue, sparkly, square dust and disappeared.
