22 The Meaning of Boundless Potential

"You been one busy girl." Sitting before a table, which had a high chair for the Little Ling Han to reach the table, Ling Han held papers that had information on Nalan Yanran and Xiao Yan's actions for the past 7 months. Sitting opposite the table was Xiao Yan who had a look of confusion.

"let's see... you trick Xiao Yan into willingly giving you his cultivation and go on to poison a city lord's only son. Since this son had a master in the White Cloud sect, you knew he would come to see his disciple. All you needed to do next was show off your capability to skip levels when he was near. He was moved by your skills, and took you back to the sect... just for you to throw him to the side and jump onto the sect master." I said while shaking my head and putting the paper down, leaving Nalan Yanran's pupils to shrink slightly.

"... does my action displease you?" She asked softly, to which I shrugged slightly.

"both yes and no. But before that let's look at Xiao Yan's actions following the past few months." I said while looking at the paper.

"After he gave away everything to you, he went on to discover his talent for the art of alchemy, somehow he came up with so many new pill recipes. what is most impressive is his fire technique which seems to give him power over other flames. He had made pills with 100% purity and managed to reach level 5 Houtian in just 5 months without having to leave the village." I said with a smile, leaving Xiao Yan's eyes widened.

"he would not have even joined the sect if not for my elder sister sensing a unique flame like that of a fire spirit. but it was just him and his cultivation art, so she brought him here to see if he was worthy. now that he had joined the sect and had broken my record, he would be valued highly by the sect and given many resources. So... you are bound to fall behind him. the gap you made between him and yourself has not only shrunk but he is going to take the lead and leave you behind." I said with a smile, leaving Nalan Yanran stunned.

"t-thats impossible. he couldn't even cultivate, he must be using some demonic art." She said to which I laughed slightly.

"Back to your question, does your action displease me? Yes and No... you are a scheming woman who is willing to use just about anyone to get what she wants. but at the same time, you are stupid enough to leave behind future enemies. Have you ever heard someone take everything a person has and leave them with their life? You have this as your enemy, if this is what you bring... why should I have you be at my side?" I asked with a smile, making Nalan Yanran bite her lips slightly.

"I will fix it... something like this would never happen again. I was weak mentally, but now it's different." She said seriously,

"Oh? So, let me ask you... what is your dream? why do you cultivate?" I asked leaving Nalan Yanran stunned for a moment before speaking.

"I want to reach the peak." She answered truthfully, to which I shook my head slightly.

"When you reach the peak, then what? Would you say wow and walk around the world wondering what you would do next? You don't see the value in love or bonds, so you would be alone at the end unless you go find someone who has nothing and build a bond there. but at that point, he would accept you because that is all he can do. friendships shall be meaningless, the concept of joy shall be forgotten by you and all you would do is live for the sake of living." I said leaving Nalan Yanran stunned. how was this a 1-year-old child?

"Leave... if you don't know why you do anything, what is the point of having you here? such a mindset would not get you far. You lived a good life with a loving father and mother. but you never enjoyed that. you and Xiao Yan are two sides of the same coin. Yin and Yang. he knows what he is doing, and he can smile and enjoy life. he has loved ones, meanwhile there is you... you have one month to give me an answer." I said calmly, causing Nalan Yanran to leave with a lost look... why was she doing all of this? She never really thought hard about this. in this world, if one could cultivate then they cultivate. there was nothing more to it. but now that she lost.

"... My lord, is it wise to have someone like her at your side?" Ling Mei asked once Nalan Yanran left.

"I already gave her my word that she can be by myside, her answer to that question shall determine if she can stay at my side or not," I said while getting up. I thought for a moment.

"Have a tournament be held in 6 months. Have the rewards be Spirit-grade resources for the top 10. Items, Herbs, Pills, and whatever is lying around no one has use for." I said calmly while disappearing, Ling Mei bowed slightly before heading off to do as I asked...

"You took your time, let's go play." Ling Hongwa seeing me return jumped off the bed, ever since I showed her a few games, she had either played with me or gone to play with other kids since I disdain playing such games.

"What game?" I asked with a sigh, to which Ling Hongwa happily pulled out a stick. I sighed softly at this, I looked outside for a moment before nodding we had some time. So, we entered the Tower Of Heaven. By the way, the Tower Of Heaven and Ling Hongwa were the same grade of weapons, it's just that on the level they were at, it was split into levels. while The Tower Of Heaven would be at level 3, Ling Hongwa was at level 10.

"Alright, this time try and swing it while trying to knock me out. I believe it's the danger of harm I'm lacking." I said calmly, making Ling Hongwa frown as she shook her head.

"No, mama Fan Ye said I can't harm you as you are still growing." She said to which the tower of heaven had to appear.

"Inside me, he is god. so how could he die? plus, you know how fast he recovers. even you can't kill him inside here." the tower of heaven said, to which Ling Hongwa hesitated slightly but nodded her head.

So, Ling Han placed on a blindfold. this blindfold sealed away one's 5 senses. it was normally used to help people train their spiritual sense, but for me, it was to recreate a technique I had seen back on Earth. the technique I wanted to recreate was called Kenbunshoku Haki, also known as Observation Haki.

This Haki gives one a 6th sense, at the basic level one can sense the world around them from emotion or even read the strength of others. At later levels, one can see the future. I didn't have a spiritual sense, so I have been trying to recreate this technique.

Annoyingly, there was no 6th sense technique in this world. There were, but there was just so trashy I disdain to even look at them. So I wanted to create my own.

Ling Hongwa's hand shook slightly while holding the stick, normally when she did this it was simple hits that wouldn't hurt Ling Han. but she had to swing like she was going to injure him... but she sighed softly.

"This is for your training." She said softly before swinging the stick, she started off slow, but even so, Ling Han was hit. She kept swinging the stick around, and although Ling Han dodged some of it, he got hit most of the time. bombs quickly filled Ling Han's head, Ling Hongwa tried hard to remain serious, but it was getting hard as she wanted to laugh.

But she kept swinging, and soon Ling Han was knocked cleanly out. As he lay on the ground out cold, Ling Hongwa had a blank look before looking towards the tower of heaven, waiting for it to do something.

"... he should have woken up by now." the tower of heaven said in confusion...

Ling Han was currently standing within the void... well, more like floating. it was complete darkness everywhere he looked. At first, he questioned if he was in someone's womb... but the infant in front of him made it clear he wasn't.

"Do you know who I am?" the glowing transparent child of white energy asked calmly, he was me but around a few months old...

"The System... the One True Supreme Force... Me. yet why are you smaller than me? if the system is me, why was it searching for past hosts?" I asked in confusion, to which the infant shook his head.

"Be it your life as a hero, your life as a Saiyan, your life as a nobody, and so on. For countless eternities, you reincarnated many times, each reincarnation being more talented and capable than the last... until this life where you met the requirement to tap into my power." the infant said softly. I was slightly stunned, by the system words, I was the creator of the system. I was that surviving will from that powerful expert...

"I'm smaller than you because you can only handle my infant self. in fact, I had to enlarge myself just for you to see me." the Infant said to which I nodded slightly.

"... you remind me of the odin force," I said softly, making the infant think for a second before slowly nodding its little head.

"Indeed... and like the Odin force, the only limitation to our power is your creativity. You can do it all, if you can picture it, then it can be done." The infant said to which I nodded slightly, I have guessed as much.

"So... those absolute powers? is it because you're too weak to give me their full potential?" I asked to which the infant glared at me.

"I'm not weak, it's your fault you can't handle anymore. you don't even know the full limits of my powers. close your eyes and tell me the countless cultivation arts from your past life you could remember." the infant said, causing me to think for a moment. my past life wasn't a cultivation world but a world of magic and stuff.

but from the novels that were popular at the time, I could remember many novels. such as The Mighty Dragon Transformation skill, Death Scripture, Time Scripture, Strength of the Hell-Crushing Godmammoth, Blood Cultivation, Heaven's Path Cultivation Techniques, and the list went on.

"All of them, plus more.... so, why have you not formed any dragon marks? you need to understand you have limitless potential, to you cultivation is something that can be ignored. but you can grow even if you stop cultivating. You have no idea what you are capable of." the Infant said leaving me quiet for some time.

"If my imagination is the limit... shall we push my Qi to the limit?" I asked, making the infant smile slightly...

outside, Ling Hongwa who was uneasy watched as Ling Han's body exploded with bright pure white energy. White light is a combination of all colors in the color spectrum... but the light Ling Han gave off wasn't truly white. in the eyes of simple mortals who couldn't comprehend beyond the color spectrum, it was white... but for Ling Hongwa and the tower of heaven, this light was the light of chaos.

they watched on in shock as Ling Han's energy which never drops began to start dropping, gathering into his dantian to form a unique mark, the mark went on to give Ling Han a + level 7 Saint King level physical strength. there would be more marks if only Ling Han's body could handle more.

but that was not all, Ling Han very blood began to change color turning into a gold color. Ling Han had just cultivated his blood to gift him more power. but it didn't stop there as Ling Han went through a great transformation.

as of this moment, Ling Han shall be empowered by any injuries he takes, converting all injuries into something useful for him to grow stronger from. As of this moment, Ling Han shall be empowered by the fact he lives, and the longer he lives and ages, the stronger he shall become. As of this moment, his very thoughts held the power to rewrite the very concept of the heavens. As of this moment, Ling Han's strength and cultivation increased by him just existing.

all things that affect or even try to affect him would only empower him. Ling Han was being empowered by everything, love, hate, good, evil, hope, despair, pain, rage, talent, and so on. He was now like the Hulk, but while the Hulk grew stronger the angrier he got, Ling Han grew stronger from all emotion, and everything none emotion-rated. and unlike the Hulk, the strength doesn't disappear... sadly, even with everything Ling Han had, he couldn't just have himself grow older to handle more power.

So, the growth came to a stop. but it only stopped when he formed a second Mark within his dantian, with each mark giving him strength at level 8 Saint King... but something odd happened, maybe it was because Ling Han just grew too powerful, or maybe he had tapped into his true capability. but his recovery speed which was normally instant was moving slowly.

Ling Hongwa's eyes were sharp so she understood that Ling Han had improved himself down to the very concept of who he was. his cultivation didn't improve, but he had truly pulled out his full potential at this moment. this left Ling Han's recovery balanced with his strength. Ling Han's full potential was dawned out, this was the potential one needed to cultivate the one supreme Cultivation art... boundless growth potential. She had never seen anything so beautiful. Ling Han could just stay in the same realm and he could still defeat the strongest of cultivators. this is what it meant to have endless talent, one cultivation realm meant nothing.
