In a far future, Earth has withered and the world has expanded beyond.
The Human race is small and insignificant among the greater and more powerful solar races.
Echo, a slightly modified human, is captain of the space cruiser, Scythe. Along with his crew, he does everything to stay out of the raising conflict between the races, especially the Emperials and the human rebels.
The crew of the Scythe, spend their time with low key scavenging, hustling and criminal activity, staying out of everyone's business, until one scavenging on the abandoned planet Earth.
Here, Echo finds a human. A human, who is not only alive, but is of the rarest and most sought after, by the solar races- a human male of the Asian subrace.
Echo brings the stranger on board Scytch and soon he and his crew, find themselves with unwanted attention, in the mist of the upcoming war between the solar races. The human they picked up, is desired by every fraction of the solar race, because of his rare beauty and a gift, which could mean victory, for whomever owned him.
Echo finds himself forced, to face the past he had left behind, along with new feelings, as he learns about the strengths and significance of the human race.
