The End of the Struggle For the Deutsche Camp

Magnus was sweaty and out of breath. He had been swinging his shovel around for 2 hours, and there appeared to be no dent in the enemies number. He looked over to his right as he hunched over, surrounded and gasping for air.

Over to his right was the forest. He could see the outlines of the people waiting for the signal to rush into battle. He didn't want any of them to get hurt, but he was running on fumes. If he didn't call them in soon, he would pass out.

He stood up, and brushed his wet, blonde air up, away from his eyes. He laughed. He laughed, and laughed. The Deutsche men surrounding him armed with shovels, knives, and rifles with bayonets that were out of ammo looked at each other, confused. What was wrong with this man? Why was he laughing?

Coming to a consensus, they charged. They didn't care about his mental state, they wanted him dead. The thirty men around him drew near, rushing at him. Magnus braced himself for the wave, and whistled. He called in the cavalry.

The Deutsche were so absorbed in their duel with the one man army that they forgot about the army he had. That same army rushed through the opening that was the entrance to the camp, using the same strategy as before. The footmen of Magnus' army had ammo, so they stood up and fired at the group ganging up on Magnus.

Then the four tanks came out from the shadows of the forest. They fired, but the three missed, as they were manned by what were infantrymen. The first tank Magnus acquired, however, was accurate. Emmanuel was a great shot with the tank's main gun and didn't miss a single shot, as he blasted the new wave of Deutsche soldiers flooding in from the other side of the camp.

It was the consensus among Magnus' group that this camp was the either the reinforcements for the front lines or the training camp for newly conscripted Deutsche men and boys. Whoever was in there, they would be sure to slaughter. After seeing Magnus duke it out with the Deutsche for over 2 hours inspired them, drastically boosting morale.

Magnus was appreciative of the help as he fended off a bayonet from being stuck in his abdomen. However, he was still worried. There was someone out there he was worried about. He didn't know why, but he was.

After another 3 hours of combat, Magnus and Amicus fell down, using each other's backs to prop themselves up while sitting with their legs out. They had finally won the battle.

The battle report was gruesome. None of the soldiers had died to gunshot wounds, but 6 did die to stab or slash or blunt force wounds. They had used up all the ammo they had, for the guns and the tanks. For that reason, the tanks' crews were either forced to run the Deutsche over or get out of the tank and fight without the armor.

One of the tanks was lost from a anti-tank grenade, but the crew was already out and fighting by then. All of the tanks were left running by the crew when they got out, so they were now out of fuel, thus leaving Magnus and his army ammo-less, tank-less, and exhausted. All of the men who were now gathered on the Deutsche camp grounds had won the right to live by slaughtering the opposing forces with their own hands.

The only reason they had won was because the ammo they had had had given them the advantage by the time they ran out of bullets and shells. That and the outside force acting from the shadows, picking off an unseen foe in the blind spot of a soldier with a sniper rifle. Magnus was disturbed by this, because he did not know who was doing it or why. Getting into all this Administrator business was forcing him to pay more attention to his surroundings.

Regardless, they absolutely need rest. Magnus did not need sleep to survive, but it helped him function properly. Those who were not Administrators, however, needed sleep. Desperately. They had never slept a whole lot in the camps, and exerting themselves so much in one or two days was draining them at a worrying rate.

Magnus then decided that they would rest in the camp, as they had won it in battle. He gathered the remaining soldiers into a group. Through some torture of one of the Deutsche soldiers they had captured, they did keep a couple alive, they found out that this was a training camp. Because the Deutsche were now desperate, they were training 16 year-olds to fight in the war here.

Those boys did not sympathize with their dictator, and thus they were willing to turn sides and fight for Magnus' insurrection of prisoners and now youth. Thus, Magnus was going stay awake and observe the Deutsche boys, making sure they didn't slit their throats, and supervise them as they searched the camp for ammunition and food and supplies.

Magnus was going to allow the soldiers from the POW camps sleep, but if they didn't want to, they could help the Deutsche boys scavenge for useful things. As of right now, the soldiers were to go and pick out tents to sleep in, as enough tents were already pitched. Those in the tents were instructed to look around inside of their tents and try to find anything useful. Once dawn broke, they were to report to Amicus about what they had found.

Thus, Magnus addressed his army, really becoming something of an authority figure and an honorable man. That is one of the gifts of a soldier. Battle hardens you into a disciplined and honorable person.

Thus the day was won by Magnus and his out-of-supply underdogs as they were going around Deutschland and ravaging the country. If they kept this up, they could win the war by the end of the month.

Magnus sat down next to the fire as the Deutsche boys were digging around in boxes and empty tents. He looked at the night sky and wondered how Administrators lived. Amicus sat down next to him without uttering a word and looked up too.

A cold breeze drifted across the camp. Magnus was conscripted in the spring of his 22nd year of life, and now it was the beginning of fall. If they didn't hurry, the war would drag on, and eventually it would be winter. In winter, the snow would fall and soldiers would start dying of cold and disease rather than gunshot wounds and burns.

That man is still lurking out there, probably. However, Magnus and his rag-tad team can't worry about that right now! They have to get into UPC Gaul before it gets too cold or they die!
