More than 1,000 participants in the desert zone were staring at each other in confusion.

Did Dean Ferrero just disdain them?

But what was he implying?

Why was a girl from Planet Trash mentioned in his speech?

Everyone was confused, but soon they forgot about these disturbing questions.

They needed to concentrate on something more important - to escape this desert as soon as possible!

The time was running out - only one day was given for the task to be completed.

Their entry examination would come to an end, if they failed to get out of here within the limited time.

Just a few of these 1,000 people were relishing what Dean Ferrero had said at the end of the announcement.

The strong, and muscular Chen Cheng subconsciously thought of the pretty girl from Planet Trash whom he had hunted, the moment he heard the Dean.

Even Zhao Qingyan had a quick notion of the girl from Planet Trash, who had bribed her with the delicious snack.

Zhu You, who had survived the chaotic fight due to good luck, somehow thought of that girl from Planet Trash too. She was the one with better looks than the rest of the locals from Planet Trash.

But soon, he removed this idea from his head.

A woman with only good looks would never have been lucky enough to be mentioned by the Dean of Second Military School!

She did not deserve that!

Not far from Zhu You, was a girl with long braids. She was a short girl in her teens who had fallen into deep contemplation as well.

Although she stood by the pretty girl from Planet Trash when the bet against Zhu You was set up, she did not believe that the pretty girl would have drawn the attention of the honorable Dean of Second Military School!

With different ideas in mind, everyone started to seek the method of getting out of the desert zone.

Lan Jiao, on the other side, had already started her first seeking day in the forest with sufficient water.

Lan Jiao had no clue about the happenings in the desert zone. Nor did she know that Dean Ferrero had mentioned her in his speech about the start of the desert test.

The forest area was cut-off from the desert zone, so she did not see the reflection of Dean Ferrero on the screen.

Lan Jiao spent half a day finding things that could be eaten.

The forest zone was damp, so some fungus were growing in the grass.

Lan Jiao found a patch of grass where star jelly was growing.

Star jelly was also called witch's butter, a combination of fungus and alga, usually found in dark and wet areas. It had a dark appearance and resembled water-soaked wooden ears.

It was a fantastic ingredient for soup and carried a wonderfully fresh taste.

In addition, Lan Jiao found several clusters of spore plants, like umbrella shaped white mushrooms.

This kind of mushroom belonged to the category of tricholoma mongolicum, also known as termite mushroom, a great ingredient for soup as well.

Lan Jiao still had the vesselers with her, those iron boxes that she had picked up in the previous zone.

The iron boxes might be a bit small, but they should work out well.

Due to the humid air across the forest, Lan Jiao spent quite a long time getting the fuel to make the fire for the soup. She found a pile of dry grass, fallen leaves, and dried twigs for the fire.

Before Lan Jiao started the fire, she swept away everything around in case the sparks spread to other places, causing a fire in the forest.

She started by grabbing a handful of dried grass and brought out the silver necklace around her neck.

On the moon-shaped necklace, there was a crystal sapphire embodied. With one side facing the sunshine, the sapphire brought out the fire through the reflection as the light was gathered at one point.

Lan Jiao had not expected that Mi Lai's gift could be used in this way. It was really convenient for survival in the wild.

Luckily, she had been taking care of Mi Lai on Planet Trash and shared all kinds of good food with him.

The mushroom soup made out of brook water tasted fresh and delicious. The smell had already spread out before it was even done.

Luckily, no one was present in the area.

The mushroom held a fresh smell, and the pureness of the dish had already brought out her appetite. After the soup was done, Lan Jiao treated herself to a leisurely meal.

After filling her stomach, Lan Jiao took a small break and extinguished the fire. She packed up briefly before continuing on her task.

Since this area was close to the desert zone, Lan Jiao was not sure how many people had gotten out of the desert zone.

But she suspected that she might be one of the first few ones.

Since when she came to this zone, there were no traces of footsteps over the grass, and the plants had not been touched, either.

Maybe she was the first one who had come out of the desert?

Lan Jiao was deep in thought as she left from there with two iron boxes full of star jelly and termite mushrooms.

She continued to comb through the depth of the forest whilst collecting plants that could be used as food ingredients.

In the supervision control room.

Lan Jiao's actions had been carefully watched by the three mentors.

Lan Jiao was not aware that after she successfully left the desert zone, she had become an important target that drew the attention of all three mentors.

Even the screen that showed her amongst hundreds of screens was enlarged.

Obviously, the mentors were paying a great deal of attention to her.

As Jin Ling watched Lan Jiao cooking the soup and enjoying it, she got increasingly surprised by the girl's actions.

Cheng Gong went a bit pale, as he watched this girl having a leisure time in the forest.

"Is she here for the entry examination or for the holiday?!"

Hao Pi, however, had a smile on his face all this time. He commented as a spectator and a mentor. "Judging from the way she ate the soup, the mushroom soup couldn't have been bad. I may not know what it was, but I do have an itch to give it a try."

Having said the words, Hao Pi continued with the compliments. "Well, well, well, this girl does have the right attitude. She knows how to adapt to an environment easily and how to seek food for herself. Despite lacking nutritive solutions, she is able to keep up her energy."

Hao Pi paused before continuing. "Also judging from how she smiled after the food, she was successful in her attempt!"

Hearing what Hao Pi said, Jin Ling nodded along. "She does have a different yet successful trick to survive."

Hearing what Jin Ling said, Cheng Gong became enraged.

"She is having a leisure time here, but she has dragged everyone else down! Look at how the first section is doing now! It is a total hell for the rest of the participants!"

Cheng Gong got increasingly angry when he thought of the situation.

"Experienced elites might be the only ones who will be able to get out of the maze-like desert, but not the other participants. It is impossible for them to break out of it!"

Cheng Gong now held a deep grudge against this girl from Planet Trash.
