1 The Beginning

Damn...

I'm so unlucky.

I think I'm about to die...

*coughing up blood *

Who would thought I will die at the young of 18 and still don't have a girlfriend!

I never thought that I would end up like this.

"Hey! look at me.", a girl next to me said.

The girl beside me was really beautiful. She had short ashen hair.

"Rio! get some help. His bleeding fast. Hurry!"

The other girl nodded and ran. This girl had long smooth brown hair.

"Hey, it's alright help's coming, okay?"

"Can you tell me your name?"

"Fi..nn", I replied with a weak voice.

"Just hang in there, Finn, and thank you for saving me and my friend.", she said while pressuring my wound. Her hands were shaking.

Oh man, this isn't the way I want to die.

I don't want to die without proving myself to the world yet.

I want another chance. I still want to protect others.

Hi, my name is Finn Reid. I guess I'm gonna die today.

If I were going to talk about how I ended up in this situation. I'll probably go back 12 years ago.

In the year 2020, rifts started to appear all over the world. These rifts are like portals and within these rifts were dungeons. Creatures and monsters in stories became real. These creatures roam dungeons and in every dungeon, some treasures can be found. The biggest effect of this so said rifts was that it made all machines and modern technologies dormant. Electricity, cellphones, cars, etc. became a thing of the past. The world was also gone back to an aristocratic system to cope with the change. So yeah the world became fantasy-like.

We called this time the "The Great Shift".

Because the world started to change. Different kinds of people received powers from an unknown source. We called the ones who received powers, "Descendants". The powers of these persons are related to the famous heroes, gods, persons, etc. Just like when it was written in myths, legends, and even history. These persons inherited the powers related to those heroes in myths. They became successors to these mythical and historical figures.

We then called these descendants, "Magus".

I started on this journey a little late than others. While you were supposed to be awakened at the age of 4. I was awakened at the age of 5, I inherited the power of Sun Tzu.

Sun Tzu was one of the greatest tacticians in history. Like him, I acquired his knowledge of combat and military strategies. I also gained the skill called, "The Art of War", whereas this skill allows me to analyze both the battlefield and opponents. It also increases both my instinct and intuition.

I also received the Chinese Bloodline.

Bloodlines mean that a certain person can use skills and techniques that are related to the powers that they inherited.

I was thankful that I got great power.

So that's what I thought.

As it turns out, my body was weaker than the average magus and I can't keep up with my powers. Also, I don't have an affinity for any of the elements.

When I was about to give up my father gave me advice about my problem.

"Prim, how about you find a weapon that suits your power and your body.", he said.

"Like what? What weapon would be suitable for me dad?", I said to him.

"How about a bow and talismans? You can fight well while using your powers.", he said.

So I took my father's advice and trained.

Because of my father's advice, I passed the exam to study in one of the most prestigious schools in the world.

"The Azure Horizon Academy".

The academy was located at Magnus City in the Kingdom of Eurasia. The kingdom consists of countries merged from Europe and Asia. It is also known as the largest kingdom around. Because of the change, Eurasia became the center of power.

[Present Day]

So back to the present.

I was getting ready to go to the entrance ceremony at the academy. Before going to the academy, I brought my bow and some magic scrolls just in case of an emergency.

"Finn! Are you done?" my mother said to me while preparing breakfast with the maids.

"Already finished mother.", I replied.

"Can you also call the twins that breakfast is ready?", she said.

"Okay!", I said while getting my bow.

"Alec! Aly! come down here. It's time for breakfast!", I called out to them.

"Okay!", they both replied in unison.

After breakfast, I bid farewell to my parents and sibling.

On my way to school, my mother gave me something before going to school. It was an accessory for my bow. She also slipped something in my pocket My mom said it was a parting gift for me. She said that it will keep me safe from harm. So I attached it to my bow.

"I think I'm gonna get lost sooner or later.", I said to myself troubled.

But that was when I heard a person cried for help. After hearing that, I suddenly rushed to where the voice calling for help coming from. When I arrived at the place where the shouting came from. I saw two girls who were being surrounded by some bandits. I unsheathe my bow but I noticed that I only brought two arrows and three talismans. I have the Flash, Surge, and the Arion buff spells.

The 'Flash' spell can blind the opponent for a short period of time.

The 'Surge' spell can release an area of effect lightning spell with a paralyzing effect. It can inflict huge damage due to the scroll's rarity.

The 'Arion Buff' spell can increase an individual's speed, strength, and physical defense for five minutes.

"Shit! wheres the rest of my arrows?", I said quietly.

I then remembered that Alec borrowed some of my arrows for his training.

"Idiot! Just how many did he borrow.", I said to myself in my head.

"Help! Someone please!", the girl with ashen hair said with a tough look.

The other girl was crying as the bandit caressed her face.

"Kekeke, little miss, no one's gonna hear you. I applied a sound canceling scroll.", the bandit said with a lewd expression.

"So how about you girls play with us and give us your money HAHAHAHAHA.", the other bandit said.

Shit! I gotta save them now. But wait now that I thought of it they said that they applied a sound canceling scroll. So how was I able to hear them?. No use in thinking about it now.

['The skill "The Art of War: Analyze" is activated.]

Okay, so there are five bandits. One is well armored, I think that's the leader. Then there are three swordsmen and one caster.

[ The skill 'Tactical View' is activated.]

The best route is to take out the caster first using the two arrows I have after using Flash to blind them. Second, I have to use Surge to take out the swordsmen then take one of their weapons and use the Arion spell before the Flash spell is gone. Lastly, take out the boss before the buff disappear.

Okay here goes nothing. Play safe Finn, be calm and collected like you always have been. Here we go.

"Start with her first.", the leader said while pointing to the girl with brown hair.

"Light the area and blind them, [Flash]!", I chanted to activate the scroll.

"Fuck! Boss, I can't see.", the caster said.

"Dispel it!", said the bandit leader.

But before the caster could finish casting. I shot him in the head and chest.

"Hey, Vin! dispel it already! Vin?", the leader said.

Caster down next the fighters.

"Break down from the heavens, [Surge]!".

The swordsmen were heavily damaged and were paralyzed including the leader.

"Bless me with speed and strength, [Arion]!"

I hurried and untied both of the girls.

"What are your names?", I said.

"My name is Josee and she is Rio.", the girl with the ashen hair said.

"Damn! you're tied with an unknown spell.", I said to them.

"Can you break it?", Rio said with a worried look.

"Maybe. [The Art of War: Analyze].", I replied.

"Okay here."

I broke the spells' weak points.

"Let's go before the leader can stand.", I said.

They both nodded and followed.

But then I sensed killing intent. It felt like someone was already behind me.

I pushed both Josee and Rio away from me.

"Hey! What was that fo..", Josee said.

Josee stared at me and was shocked. Rio's eyes were full of fear.

"Shit...", I said grinning while coughing blood.

I was stabbed by the bandit leader.

"You really thought that a little lightning can harm me!", the leader said.

He kicked me towards Josee and Rio.

I coughed up blood and groaned.

As he was slowly approaching with a dagger in his hands. I heard Josee casting a spell.

[Ice Wall]

A huge wall of ice blocked the bandit leader's way.

"Rio! cast a Mist spell.", she ordered Rio.

Rio nodded.

[Mist Veil]

"Hey! are you okay?", Josee said with a worried look on her face.

I nodded. But the wall can't hold the leader any longer.

"Josee, it's only a matter of time before the bandit breaks the wall.", Rio said to Josee.

It was then I remembered that my mother slipped something in my pocket.

"M..y pock...et", I said weakly.

"What? I can't understand you.", Josee replied.

"My left pocket.", I replied.

She then reached out her hand to my pocket.

As she got the item. It was a talisman for the spell, "Withdraw".

"It's a Withdraw spell.", Josee called out to Rio.

It's a spell that teleports you to a place that you think of.

Josee called Rio to stay close. She then started casting the spell.

"Let us go back to the place we think of, [Withdraw!]", she chanted.

We were then teleported near Horizon Academy.

But I realized that already lost lots of blood.

Well, here we are now...

This isn't the way I want to die.

I don't want to die without proving myself to the world yet.

I want another chance. I still want to protect others.

I still want them to be proud of me.

I still want to grow stronger for them to live an easy life.

"Hey, kid!"

Who called me? Is this it? Am I going to die now?

Clouds started to form and the sky rumbled. I think it's going to rain.

As I blinked my eyes, I was at a different place. It was so bright.

"Do you truly believe that you can protect and prove yourself to others

without having an ill will?", the mysterious voice said.

This is some mystery shit. But what choice do I have now?

"Yes...", I replied.

"Even though you possess a rare talent, it seems that your body can't keep up. Your lowly reputation and weak physique keeps you in being discriminated against by high ranked nobles your age.", the voice said as he like knew me for years.

"Don't talk like you know me.", I replied angrily.

"But, you can still prove yourself and protect others."

"Huh? What the hell are you talking about?", I replied.

"HA HA HA, We like you brat. It is truly a waste to see a kindred soul as you die."

"We will give you a chance."

A game like a window suddenly showed right in front of me.

"What is this?", I questioned.

It has text in it saying, "Welcome to the Olympian System! You are now qualified to inherit the trials and powers of the Olympian Gods."

Olympian Gods? Am I being reawakened? Another window popped up after reading the last text.

"Brat, I'm Zeus by the way. I am representing on behalf of the Greek Gods."

This chance. I'll take it and prove myself.

"So pick one of us brat. But we will still give you one skill each from us. To obtain the other skills from us you will have to undergo our trials. You will find it in the systems special task tab.", Zeus explained it to me.

"Stop calling me a brat. I have a name it's Finn.", I clarified.

"Yeah yeah.", he replied with a mocking tone.

"Pick an Olympian god? Can I only pick one?", I said to the system.

[ YES FOR THE TIME BEING... ]

"For the time being? What do you mean?", I replied.

[ BUT YOU WILL STILL RECEIVE GIFTS FROM EACH OLYMPIAN GOD. ]

If I remember correctly there are 13 or 14 main Greek Gods. So there are the three strongest greek gods namely Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. The others are Hermes, Hera, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Ares, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Demeter, and Hestia who gave her seat to Dionysus. But she is still considered as one of the main greek gods.

If I have to pick who is powerful but also useful with about anything. It has to be him.

"So Finn-brat who will you pick to accompany you?", Zeus said.

"I'll pick Greek God Hermes.", I said.

[ CHOICE ENTERED. THE GREEK GOD HERMES WILL INSTRUCT YOU FURTHER. ]

"Hmmm... wise choice kid. It seems that I was not wrong in choosing you.", Zeus said while commending my choice.

"Hermes! It's your turn.", he called out.

A loud boom was suddenly heard. I covered my ears and Hermes suddenly appeared in front of me. He had his signature hat and winged shoes. I guess it was really true that he was incredibly fast.

"Yo sup little dude.", Hermes waved with a joyful expression.

I waved back. He put his finger on my forehead and started saying a command.

"So little dude..."

"I bestow upon you my skills and approval that you are exempted from my trial."

"What's ki?", I said to the system.

[ Ki: is the natural energy given off by people and objects when they move. Unlike mana, all living and non-living things give off Ki when they move. ]

Damn this skill is gonna be useful. How about the last skill?

[ It allows the user to master all classes and the elements. But, the restriction is that it will also base on the user's knowledge and comprehension of each class. ]

"Woah! This is a nice skill. I can do other classes but can't master any of them.", I replied excitedly.

"But, how about the elements? Do they follow the same restriction?"

"Oh about that. Do you remember the trials?", Hermes explained.

"Well yeah. I have to attend these trials to get the other skills of each god.", I said.

"Well, each god represents an element. For me, I represent the Wind Attribute. As long as you complete each trial. The restriction from that element is removed and you master that element."

"So, I'm already done with my part. It's now their turn to give you something but they will let the system make it a gift, you can find it in the gift tab.
