58 CHAPTER 58

"What are you thinking about?" Dae Hyun asked as he tried to read her but he failed, she being an enigmatic puzzle was one of the reasons he felt drawn to her, he was intrigued. 기쁨

"We're getting married soon and I just feel like I should be a total part of your life." She said with a low voice as she stroked his hair gently.

"You are a total part of my life, why do you feel like you're not?" Dae Hyun asked with creased brows as he looked up at her.

"You don't tell me everything." She stated with a firm tone. Dae Hyun went quiet for a minute, now he realized where she was heading to, she was too curious and inquisitive, he liked that about her but right now he preferred it if she didn't question him any more about his secret plans.

"Is it everything or is there a specific thing you want to know?" He asked, knowing she was referring to his plans that she probably knew he was harbouring but he wasn't surprised she knew, she was observant, too observant.

"Why are you close to the Kim's?" She asked as that was the Chairman's family name. He pressed his lips in a thin line.

"Why are you asking?" He questioned, it was obvious he didn't want to let her in on his devious plans, he had his reasons, he was being extremely careful.

"You're planning something aren't you?" She asked again, she was determined to get it out of him but he wouldn't budge. He sighed deeply before replying,

"That's my business to handle, all you have to do is sit and watch, no questions please." He said as he sat up and caressed her cheeks with his hand.

"It'll be our business once we get married, it doesn't even matter if we get married or not, we're supposed to be a couple and a team, I'll support you on whatever decisions you make." Min Hye said firmly as she stared deeply into his eyes, hoping her words were strong enough to persuade him to reveal his plans.

'A team?' Dae Hyun thought inwardly, that was never going to happen, he didn't do teams, it was too risky he'd rather work alone, he had been progressing with his plans for years alone, he was a lone wolf and he never saw Min Hye as a team, he only saw her as an intriguing woman he couldn't get enough of, his obsession.

"Sorry love but I'd rather work alone, I'm not really good with teams." He said apologetically as he took her small hands in his big ones and kissed the back of her palm. She remembered when he helped her get rid of the body, she thought they made a good team but now she realized he thought differently.

"You don't trust me, do you?" She said with a flat tone but he could make out the hurt in her voice.

Trust? That was a word he wasn't accustomed with, the word felt alien to him, trusting someone meant relying on the person, then hope came along and if it didn't work out, it would end in disappointment. He couldn't trust anyone, not even Min Hye, it would be too risky to trust someone in his devious plans, he had never relied on anyone but himself which made him as strong as he was and he wasn't going to do that now.

"You can't trust anyone, not even me." Dae Hyun said and her breath hitched, what did he mean by that? She knew he had very visible red flags but now she wasn't sure if he was warning her about his danger signs or that he might hurt her but she knew that he would never hurt her, she knew he loved her more than anything or so she thought. Was he really in love or was he obsessed?

Min Hye didn't say anymore, she gave up trying to make him talk, she would just do as he said and sit back and watch but she knew she would be watching a horror movie as his plans would involve a lot of innocent people dying, no! He would kill them and Yoo Na and Cha Eun were definitely on his list, it was obvious but she wondered who else was on his list as he didn't tell her everything.

Dae Hyun was in his office awaiting the arrival of Miss Lee for their meeting. It was some minutes past seven when he saw a woman being ushered in by Min Hye who left them afterwards to their meeting.

She was a beautiful woman around her mid thirties, she was wearing a revealing tight red gown that threatened to spill her exposed cleavages from the dress, a long slit ran down from her thighs, revealing her legs. It was obvious to Dae Hyun that she had come to seduce him but he maintained a poker face even though he was already feeling repulsed by the woman.

He already anticipated powerful women throwing themselves at him after he became vice chairman because it was obvious that the Chairman had his eyes on him as the successor of the company because of his undying loyalty and his brains, so they would all start swarming around him even though they knew he was getting married soon. They became more allured to him because he also had the looks, to them he was perfect, he had the brains, the charms and the looks, a perfect suitor for the single women in the business world.

They both sat at the couch opposite each other, he didn't bother to spare her a glance like other men would on seeing such a tempting woman, they exchanged greetings and Dae Hyun was ready to get the meeting over with.

She crossed her legs seductively over the other, revealing her legs more but he felt irritated by her gesture to try and seduce him.

"What business are you here for?" He said politely as he pushed his glasses up slightly. A smile crossed her lips.

"Before we get to business, shouldn't we get to know each other a bit more?" She asked rhetorically, making her voice as pleasing to the ears as possible but it only made his hands itch terribly to strangle her.

"I already know you, you're the Chairwoman of Lee chemicals, you're thirty four, your father is dead and you're the only child of your parents. You are widely know all over the country but most of your chemicals are pretty illegal, you make hard drugs and sell them to the black market, you own over fifteen illegal assets worth five hundred billion won, you're involved in money laundering and other illegal activities but you cover your tracks pretty well, they're more but I'm not sure we'll get out of here if we place them all on the table." Dae Hyun stated with a blank expression as he watched a grin tear through her lips.

"You're really a genius aren't you? So, are you going to judge me for doing illegal things? I bet your company isn't any different." She said.

"I never said we were, it's all business." He replied and she smiled in satisfaction at his reply.

"I heard you're getting married to your secretary, she's really a beauty." Miss Lee drawled, she wanted to say more but he already knew what she would say, she would probably try to offer him more power which wasn't such a bad offer but he'd get it his way.

"Yes, thank you." He replied politely feigning obliviousness to what she was getting at.

"To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed. I would have thought a young man as smart and ambitious as yourself would be in a marriage of business not love." She said as she pushed her hair back to reveal her neck. Dae Hyun gave her a sheepish grin.

"So why are you really here?" Dae queried even though he already knew why she was there.

"To make an offer, I'm a very powerful woman, you'll have a lot to gain if we got married, strictly for business purpose and definitely pleasure too, I mean there's really not any difference who you do it with, it'll be a marriage of convenience." She said as she stood up slowly from the couch and walked towards Dae Hyun with slow steps as she moved her waists seductively to attract his attention, only if she knew what was going on in his head, she would have stopped immediately.

"You're not the first to make that type of offer to me, I refused the Chairman who's obviously more powerful than you in the business world so why do you think I won't refuse you?" Dae Hyun stated out and she stopped abruptly in her steps.

"His daughter isn't a business woman and she's definitely not as ambitious as I am, with me by your side we'll elevate both companies to greater heights especially once the two companies merge. It'll be the most powerful company in Korea and maybe the world too." She said as she confidently resumed her steps until she hovered above him as he sat down, looking up at her with a stoic expression that hid dark thoughts.

"It's not even my company, so you're seducing the wrong person, the Chairman travelled but he'll be back soon, but I'll definitely give you a call when he's back." He said with a serious expression and the lady laughed loudly at his sense of humor even though he didn't say it as a joke.

"It's so obvious he's going to make you his successor, so I I'm surely on the right track." Miss Lee said and she immediately straddled him, trying to kiss him in the process, taking him unaware with her actions, he didn't think she would go this far until now. He was about to push her away, obviously ticked by her actions but it was too late, the door swung open and his eyes averted to Min Hye standing frozen by the door side.
