1 Chapter 1

Chapter 1

"I died one day, nothing special really about my death, I died at the age of 28, and it was due to a hit and run, mind you, I looked both ways..., but he appeared out of nowhere and hit me at probably around 140 kilometers per hour and I guessed the speed based on how far and fast I flew..., hell, I hit the windshield of another car, and landed in the back seat, the only solace thing about my death was...I didn't feel any pain, like at all, it kinda amazes me...and I must be going crazy...talking about myself like it was the start of a story...but being here in the dark...for I don't know how long...is making me crazy" and as Eric said this, he looked around, but as usual, he saw darkness, so he started saying "No angel of death, no god, just darkness huh, is this how death is supposed to be...or is this my hell..hmm, should I just sleep?...Can I even do that?" And as Eric said that, he felt the ground around him, and as it felt just like a polished floor, he went from sitting to lying down.

Eric then tried to sleep...but nothing happened, so he then started talking about his life, as he was bored and had nothing better to do as it wasn't a good idea to explore, if he couldn't see anything, and as he talked, he talked about the good things he's done as well as his sins, he then noticed he didn't have much to say about the good things he's done in his life, but the sins, well..., they were never ending, and so he spoke about them as he guessed, this was a place to do so before he gets punished for his sins and as he kept talking, he noticed a light and as he saw it, he saw it falling down to appear in front of him, and as it did, he saw it was a roulette wheel gambling game, and as he saw it, he looked inside and saw something that kinda made sense, as he saw most of the places where the ball could land, said 'Hell' and less than 1/3 said 'Heaven', and as he looked at the places where he could get the 'Hell', he saw a numbers beside the word and as he saw this, he noticed some numbers were low and somewhere high, but they all had one thing in common and that was, beside the number, there was an M sign and as he looked at it, he thought of a possibility he didn't like, he then saw a pamphlet appear, and so he picked it up and read it and as he did, he read "You can choose not to play, but you'd still be going to Hell for 131 Million years, but if you play, well you could go to heaven, but you could also be stuck in Hell for more than 131 Million years, but don't worry, it won't be anymore than 1 Billion years, and as you've seen, you can go to Heaven as long as the ball falls onto the Heaven slot, and once you get into heaven, you will live out your dreams, and you'll stay in it, and there is one last thing, you see the question mark" and as Eric read to here, he looked at the Wheel slots and saw it, he then saw it was a much smaller slot and there was only one of them, so he went back to reading the pamphlet, and he read "That there, is your ticket to reincarnation, a special one at that and into a different world other than your own, but the chances of getting that is almost nonexistent as no one has ever got it before, so if you're aiming for that, well, you'd have a better chance of getting into heaven, and if you choose to play, press the button on the right and if you don't, in 1 hour, you'll be teleported to hell, all in all, it's your choice" and as Eric read here, he thought "What? Really? I won't get 1 billion years but I can see a slot saying less than a billion...now that's messed up, is it 1 day less or 1 year less…..sounds fucking ominous as hell..." he then looked at the button and back at the question mark, he then smirked as he thought "I got nothing to lose other than more years of punishment, let's go 'Heaven' and so he pushed the button and smiled as he saw the ball enter and the wheels start spinning, and after a few minutes, Eric saw the ball finally slowing down, and so he watched the ball move slower and slower.

Eric watched was the ball was giving it last few jumps and he saw it land on 'Hell 236M', then 'Heaven', then 'Hell 768M", Then another Hell slot and as he saw the ball was about to stop, he smiled as he saw it going for heaven after the next two jumps, he then saw it land in 'Hell 338M' and that random question mark slot, and Eric smirked as he saw it could jump once more and it was the 'Heaven' slot next but as it hit the question mark slot, the ball hit the edge of the small slot with its next jump and got rebounded back and stayed inside the question mark slot and as Eric saw this he said "Nonononononono NOOOOOOOOOOOO, this isn't fair, it had 1 jump left" and then he saw confetti coming out of nowhere and as he did, he waved his hands to get them out of the way and tried putting his hand in the wheel to move the ball, but as he did, he saw he was putting it in, but his hands weren't getting any closer, he then said "Switch please, I want heaven, I wanna live out my dreams" but he got no response in return and as he looked at the pamphlet he was still holding, he saw the words changing and it said "The first winner ever….Well, this is a surprise…., the actual chance of getting that is amazing, do you understand how many souls have tried before you? And in the end you got it, and this is actually only a one-time thing, for one lucky person, what do you have to say, winner?" And as Eric read this, he said "Can I have heaven instead? Can I do a switch?" And he then saw the pamphlet changing words again and as he did, he read "Nope, Destiny isn't something you can change and well, the prize is only ever for one person as the game will only now be played for heaven or hell, and it would be kinda weird to switch it out for heaven as it will be gone forever, and don't you wanna experience a new word? Be strong? Do whatever you want?...if you survive that is" and Eric replied without hesitation "I can do that in heaven, living out my dreams, I can even switch it up, like common, it's heaven" and then he saw the pamphlet changing words again, he then read "You played, so you get what you win, hey, at least you didn't get hell, well...good luck with your new life winner" and as he read that, he said "Wait Sto…." And before he could say anything else, he faded away, and the words on the pamphlet changed once more as it said: "Destiny, such an odd thing is it not?" And the question mark at the end of that sentence of the pamphlet was the same looking red question mark that was on the wheel slot, and the question mark on the roulette wheel disappeared as if it was never there.

Eric woke up and thought, "Was that all just a dream...but I feel like shit though" and as he did, he looked around, he then looked at his body and saw some muscles, some scratches, and a lot of scars, but he ignored that as he looked at the size of his hands and as he looked at it, he started to remember things, "12 years old, Part of the Kabuno tribe in the north, an orphan being raised by the a warrior orphanage camp, his parents died a few months ago and were both residents here, but had no other family, nor friends, rather his parents were from the lowest of the low in the hierarchy of the tribe, they even struggled to feed themselves, let alone a kid" and as he remembered this, he thought as he looked at his right wrist "I'm 12 years old again, well at least I ain't starting from a baby, now that would be messed up, but this boy killed himself by cutting his wrist, kid couldn't handle the pain, loneliness, hunger, and the brutal training anymore… what a coward"

Eric massaged the wrist that was supposed to be cut and bleeding, but there was no wound there, as if it never happened and so he looked around and saw no blood on this hay bed either, Eric then thought about this world "So there are other species in this world, but this kid only has the basics learned, but the main thing is, there are monsters in this world and a bunch of them at that...now what the hell am I supposed to do? This isn't a cultivation type world...I think, there aren't any status screens either, nor is there any inborn gifts, but there are magicians in this world, and there are powerful people, like the strongest of this tribes warrior's, they have something they call power? Some even call it strength or spirit, but either way, was this supposed to be a good prize or not...I'm fucked, and what's the gift...System?... nope ….status…... nope, something?.....at least I tried...now I'm 100% sure I'm fucked aren't...wait....A.I.?....... Yeah.. I'm fucked..."

Eric then heard his stomach growl, and as he did, he looked at his bed made of hay and started to move it around for a bit before he found himself some burnt black moldy bread and as he saw this, he knew why the previous him didn't eat it before he killed himself, shit stank…. so he went and ate it as he held his nose and as he did, he swallowed and the after taste that came after he ate it was disgusting, but he thought instead "It's in the top 5 of the worst things I ever ate" and as he ate it, he felt his stomach not feeling well soon after and thought "Well, I have to survive right? Deal with it for now bro….I know how to get us some better food soon" and as he thought of that, he heard something loud and it was basically a warrior banging on something metal, and this was a signal for them to get up.

Eric stood up and felt how weak his body was, he then looked at the other hay beds in this room as there were 4 in total and saw they were empty, and it was because two killed themselves a few days ago and the other starved to death the last week, so as he got out, he looked and saw other kids getting out of the room, but it wasn't much, all in all, there were 14 standing outside, and as the guy counted this, he said "One's missing" and then he heard a kid say "He's dead, he slit his wrist in the night Sir warrior" and as the man heard that, he went in the room the kid told him about and came out dragging the dead boy, he then walked a bit and threw him in a cage and soon, everyone heard chewing sounds, and that was because the cage held weak monsters that were used for...graduation apparently and there was no point burying dead bodies of orphans, as it was a hassle and they need to feed the monsters too.

To Be Continued.
