Permanently drifting. Ungodly or divine in nature. They drift, unable to know that they aren’t alone or that there are others drifting like them simply due to how endless it is. Time crawls to a halt. Space grows stagnant. Darkness remains a constant. Infinite. Eternal. Untouchable. But sometimes within the endless black of nothing, after a few eternities, something might come across something to escape their eternal monotony, whether it be someone else or something much farther than that. Floating through the void, a nameless spirit finds itself amongst endless nothing. Empty and desiring more, it quietly waits. Until eventually, it can feel the pull of reality, they allow it to take hold of them. Authors Notes: Story is gonna be about a kid who’s gotten out of the void and appeared in this world. The world is gonna be very fantasy based. I’ve read a bunch of stories and dropped nearly all of them due to them literally being the same story but done worse. So this is hopefully gonna be different in that regard. Whether it be different in story or better done. I’ve made a bunch of past really shitty versions, but this is likely gonna be the final draft of the story. I don’t think there’s anyone who’s been waiting for this, but if so, you really gotta set your priorities straight. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the story.

Origin of Self

There I was. In hell. Nothing around me. Nothing to see. Nothing to smell. Nothing to do. Nothing to feel. Thoughts were my only companion, though they didn't give much when I had nothing to think about.

The eternal darkness was seemingly unreal. Yet it was an infinite constant. My mind dripping in an unstopping trance.

Emptiness filled me every second and I remained empty.

Then I realized that I existed. My mind becoming sentient.

With this, I could feel myself becoming solid.

I was unsure if it was due to me realizing I was material or if I had given myself physical form through self actualization.

Gaining sentience was unpleasant to say the least, being in a empty void with nothing but myself was incredibly agonizing.

I had absolutely no sense of time, it just felt like I'd been here for an eternity.

Even though I could feel I had a somewhat physical form, I was unable to see or even know what it was.

Drifting through the void. I floated and floated.

As eternities passed, I followed this endless process without being able to stop.

There wasn't anything I could do in the face of the absolute void. Nothing lived, nothing died, but I would subsist.

Still, this was all I knew. So I couldn't truly hate it. I just… didn't feel anything about it.

And this would continue. Forever. Forever. Forever.

And I drifted along, without resistance. I'm sure I tried anything I could, but whatever it was, it had all burned out a few eternities ago.

Days, years, centuries, millennia, or perhaps even seconds passed before something would take change.

A point of pure light appeared. Pulling me into it. I was surprised, but I didn't bother fighting it.

Rapidly sucking me in, I wondered if this would be… the end of my existence?

But if it was, things wouldn't really be worse.

Fortunately, it wasn't.

The first thing I saw was a lush green forest as I was hit with the warmth of the sun.

I was amazed by what I saw. Colors I'd never experienced before were instantly engraved into my mind, never to be forgotten. My heart beating furiously as I took it all in.

I could feel myself becoming even denser, almost as if my body was becoming more and more real. Countless nerves forming as bones solidified, I could feel flesh wrapping around me, my entire body constantly breaking down, unable to endure reality.

My eyes becoming eyes. My heart stood still. With my back against a tree, I looked at the world ahead of me. Absolutely... intoxicating.

While stumbling through the forest littered in unconscious bodies, June yawned as blood dripped down her face. Countless battles had taken place in the last twenty minutes, with her being the only person left standing.

"Well you all tried. I guess I'm just that awesome."

Taking out a cigarette, she pinched the edge of it, the tips of her fingers heated up, lighting it.

"I don't smoke... why do I have a cigarette."

Hearing the roar of thunder, she sighed as a man appeared in front of her.

"Hand it over."

"The cigarette?"

"The pup."

"Oh them? How about... nah." Flicking the cigarette at them, she kicked it into their face.

Blocking the hit with his palm, he stared coldly. As she smiled nervously, her expression then got serious as she went for another kick.

Releasing a bright blue light, he released a giant explosion; of which being hit by it, she flew out of the smoke, crashing into a giant tree.

Rushing towards her, he went for a front kick. Moving her head a bit to the right, the kick missed, the leg going straight through the tree behind her.

Elbowing the tree, it snapped in half. Digging her fingers into the bark, she took hold, lifted, and swung it at him.

Getting slammed into by a giant tree trunk, he was thrown back.

"Don'tcha think you guys should've sent more people? Like I feel I deserve more respect. Especially since I don't even have the child-do- lizar- pet- whatever the fuck it was. You guys just assumed I had them."

Getting up, the man's eyes glowed blue, "Huh?"

"Hmm, I guess you didn't hear that." Placing her hand on his chest, she wished him good luck.

'When did she-?'

Her arm glowed white as it radiated a bright orange light like hot burning iron. Building up energy, it released all of it, creating a strong repulsive force that sent him flying away. Until, he was gone.

"I'd fight you, but I'm a bit too tired... Hmm?" She sensed an oddity in her surroundings. Profound emptiness. But then, the feeling vanished.

Looking around, she saw a black haired boy staring into blank space. Wearing a cloak of darkness, his body was constantly changing into and out of black smoke as it distorted.

"Err, hey there kid... where did you come from?"

He looked at her, his eyes were pitch black, with no reflections or light bouncing off.

His expression was blank as his body seemingly became more and more stable.

Eventually, his body stopped flickering from two states of matter as it became solid. Him then falling over unconscious.
