chapter 7 - Trapped In Darkness

It had been three long months since Faith had been kidnapped, and she was still trapped in her dark, isolated prison. Every day, her kidnapper brought her three small meals of bland, tasteless food and left her alone in her room. She had no idea how long she had been there, but it felt like an eternity.

Faith had lost track of time, but her body was giving her clues. Her stomach felt bloated, and she realized that her period had not come. Could it be possible that she was pregnant? The thought filled her with fear and dread. How could she raise a child in this dark, cold place?

Despite her desperate situation, Faith held onto hope that her husband Logan was still looking for her. She clung to the memory of their life together, their small house in the suburbs, their plans for the future. But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, her hope began to wane.

One night, as Faith lay on the cold floor with a thin blanket wrapped around her, the door to her room creaked open. She tensed up, expecting the worst. But to her surprise, her kidnapper had brought her a gift.

"Since you've been a good girl, I have a real bed for you," he said, his breath hot on her face. Faith recoiled in disgust, but she couldn't help feeling grateful for the soft, warm bed that he had brought her.

"The more good you are, the more stuff you will get," he added, before leaning in to kiss her on the lips. Faith turned her head away, but he forced the kiss on her. As he left the room and locked the door behind him, she wiped her mouth and shuddered.

Despite the trauma she had endured, Faith couldn't help but feel a glimmer of gratitude for the new bed. She climbed into it tentatively, feeling the softness of the mattress and the warmth of the blankets. For the first time in months, she felt a small sense of comfort and safety.

But as she lay there, her mind began to race. What did the kidnapper mean by "the more good you are"? What did he expect from her? And how much longer would she be trapped in this nightmare?
