Chapter 5 - The Investigation

Logan's heart was pounding as he rushed into his house to find the chaos inside. His dogs were weak and something was clearly wrong. As he looked around, he saw broken plates, scattered books, and other signs of a struggle. He called out for his wife, Faith, but there was no response. He knew something was terribly wrong and immediately called the police.

When the officers arrived, Logan told them about the text message he had received from Faith earlier that evening. He also mentioned that he suspected his dogs had been poisoned, which only added to his fears. The officers began to search the house for any signs of Faith, but she was nowhere to be found.

Logan's mind raced as the police officers asked him questions about what had happened. He struggled to keep his composure as he explained the events of the evening. The officers took notes and promised to do everything in their power to find Faith.

As they continued to search the house, Logan couldn't help but feel helpless. He didn't understand who would want to hurt his wife or why. He knew that Faith was a kind and caring person who never had enemies. It didn't make sense.

The police officers took statements from Logan's neighbors and canvassed the area, hoping to uncover any leads. Logan sat in the living room, his mind in a fog. He tried to think of anything that could help the officers find Faith, but his thoughts were jumbled.

Days turned into weeks and there was still no sign of Faith. Logan's anxiety grew with each passing day. He couldn't eat or sleep, and his mind was consumed with thoughts of what could have happened to his wife.

Finally, one day, the phone rang. It was the police, but the news was not good. They had exhausted all their leads and had no new information about Faith's whereabouts. Logan's heart sank as he hung up the phone.

He couldn't believe that his wife was still missing. He couldn't help but feel like he had failed her. He spent every day searching for any clues or leads that could help him find her. He put up posters around town and even hired a private investigator, but still there was no sign of Faith.

As the days turned into months, Logan's hope began to fade. He knew that the longer Faith was missing, the less likely it was that she would be found alive. He couldn't bear the thought of never seeing his wife again.
