Chapter 1 - The overworked Nurse

Logan had been working at the hospital for years, and he was used to long and tiring shifts. But when he agreed to take an extra shift that day, he didn't realize just how much he was taking on. The hospital was short-staffed and overcrowded, and Logan found himself running from one patient to the next, barely having time to catch his breath.

As the day wore on, Logan's fatigue began to catch up with him. He felt his energy levels dropping and his mind growing foggy. He knew he needed to stay alert, but it was getting harder and harder.

Meanwhile, at home, Logan's wife Faith was growing concerned. She had heard a strange noise outside and noticed that their two dogs were barking incessantly. She tried calling Logan to ask for his opinion, but he didn't answer. She assumed he was too busy at work and didn't want to bother him, so she sent him a text message instead.

"Logan, I think someone is outside. The dogs won't stop barking. Can you please call me back when you get a chance?"

But Logan was so busy that he didn't see the message until much later. By then, he was already exhausted and feeling overwhelmed. He tried to call Faith back, but there was no answer. He knew he had to get home, so he told his boss he had to leave and headed out.

Meanwhile, Faith had gone upstairs to get ready for bed. She knew the dogs were still barking, but she assumed it was just a false alarm. She told them to go to bed and settled in for the night.

Little did she know, someone was watching her every move from outside. And as Logan rushed home, he had no idea what was waiting for him.
