Their Sake

"Got the flowers?" Rick asked.

"Mm!" Maru nodded, holding up the orange bouquet.

As the two made their way out to the car, Chris rolled down the window.

"The heck took so long?" He grumbled.

"Sorry, sorry." Rick yawned, sitting down.

As they got to the cemetery, Maru hopped out of the car.

"C'mon!" She cried.

"Alright, alright we're comin'." Chris chuckled.

As Maru placed the bouquet down on the grave she smiled.

"Hi Cole." She whispered.

Rick placed an arm around her, smiling.

"Sorry it's been awhile..." He whispered.

"Oi, Rick." Chris whispered.

"Rick..." He grumbled.

"Eh?" Rick turned around to face him.

"What's up your butt, why the hell are ya so impatient today!?" He cried.

"Behind you!" Chris impatiently signaled.

As Rick turned around his eyes widened. Behind them was Nox, who was busy at a grave a row behind them.

"He's one of the elites..." Chris whispered.

"No shit, I already told you that genius." Rick sighed.

"Let's get outta here before he notices." Chris said, turning around.

"Mr. Reaper...?" A voice called out. The three quickly froze. Rick slowly turned around met by Nox.

"Fancy seein' you here huh...?" Rick said, flashing a nervous smile.

"Ah yes, I suppose it is..." Nox said, giving a smile.

"Well, now that we're out of a work environment..." Rick began, narrowing his eyes.

"Care to explain yourself?" He said.

Nox looked at Rick, then at Maru.

"I told you didn't I...?" He sighed.

"We do it for their sake." He said, keeping his gaze fixed on Maru.

"Ah, shucks I've got to get going." Nox said, checking his watch.

"I do expect to be seeing you at work, Mr. Reaper." He smiled.

"Until then!" Nox said, turning away with a wave.

"Man, I kinda can't stand him." Rick said with an annoyed grin.

"He's a piece'a work that's for sure..." Chris said with a sigh.

"Anyways, let's get goin'." Rick said.

"Sorry 'bout that Cole, Maru and I will be back soon though." He said, giving a soft smile.

"Bye Cole!" Maru beamed as the three walked away.
