Chapter 3

The Pegasus wasn’t the only magical beast at the college. Crevyn also tended to a small water dragon and a beautiful flying serpent. As Crevyn wandered around making sure all the college’s animals, magical or otherwise, wanted for nothing, the sky blackened, and lightening streaked across it. The dramatic change was gone as quickly as it came.

“Garvit showing off. As usual.” Crevyn shook his head. According to Madam Audra, Garvit lacked control and direction. While his demonstrations were dramatic, he used too much energy too quickly. “All show and no depth. Much like the man himself.”

This time, Crevyn ensured he was on time to join the line of his fellow students in the hall. The judges remained cloaked, apart from the man in the center, and Madam Audra stood like a silent sentinel at the end of the table.

“Welcome back.” The man looked at them one by one. “For this challenge, there will only be three taking part. Garvit, Clover, and Crevyn.”
