Jobs and Ghouls

Chapter Four

The next morning, everyone in the hotel started to wake up, one by one. They all head downstairs while I walk with Lily who is half awake and half asleep. I try to talk to her but we cannot communicate when heading to the meeting until later. So once we arrive in the middle of the place.

Ms. Suli and Nana started to come to the area and greet everyone there. I was surprised when Nana came because she doesn't look like an insect anymore but a human?.

She had long black hair, makeup on, and was wearing a long black dress with sparkle and bean around. I was speechless when I saw her until they started to talk about jobs.

"Greetings everyone, I hope you all have a great rest yesterday..today I was wondering if anyone is excited about the job that we're gonna give?".

I look around.

Everyone started to shout cheerfully as if they all were ready to do some hard work. I was confused when that happened but I didn't say anything until Suli and Nana continued their words.

"Well, it seems like everyone is ready for their job so Nana will introduce the tasks that you can do in this paper. Everything in this paper is a list of free jobs for you all to work on but just be careful not to get hurt. Because there are creatures out there that can be harmful and they can still come in this place without anyone knowing. So I hope you all are aware of that but anyway these jobs are very simple and everyone in here can do two to three jobs. That's all on you".

"And if you're wondering what kind of job you all can do..well...I will give you guys one example. The two jobs that you can do are cleaning the toilet and the floor. If you need any questions you may ask now".

Ms. Suli looks at her friend.

"Nana you forgot something?".

"Forgot what?".

Ms. Suli smiles and looks at the crowd of people.

"Looks like Nana forgot something…I guess I will talk it out…well today I have someone that I would like to introduce to you all so listen carefully. Please meet Luke..the one that will guide you and help you to find what you need".

Luke went on the stage and looked at everyone, including me.

"If you're wondering why he will be the one that will do that position is because...I cannot do that anymore. I have a lot of work to do and it involves the owner of this building. So my apology if I'm your favorite helper".

Everyone was upset that I looked at Lily to see if she felt the same. But she was still half awake so I decided to look away from her and moved my eyes to Luke.

He was quiet. Why is he not talking?.

"Well Luke, do you have anything to say?".

Luke shook his head.

"No. But at the same time I hope you all respect each other".

He walked away.

That voice. It sounds familiar like I heard it somewhere.

Ms. Suli looked at Luke as Nana took over the stage.

"Well I guess that's it..you may go do your jobs now and also remember to give your token to us…so that we know that you're doing a task. You will get that token back after you're done. Shoo shoo".

Everyone in the area begins to move, looking at the long list filled with jobs to work on. And at that moment, I started to see one of the ghouls walking by from the corner of my eyes.

I was so scared that I quickly grabbed Lily's arm and panicked.

"What's wrong…Jasmine??".

She turned her head around to the side and looked at me with confusion in her eyes.

"I saw something in here..I don't feel safe at all".

Lily looks around while everyone is checking for jobs, still.

"I don't see anything Jasmine..maybe you're just seeing them".

I and Lily still have our light in our hands.

We have it with us every day while other people don't. They don't seem to be carrying anything but at the same time, I think it's magic or this building that kept them protected. After we all finished finding a job, I and my buddy Lily started to head to our room and change into a new outfit.

"This outfit seems like maid clothes but in a different version".

I look at the clothes while saying that.

"No..it looks more like pajamas".

Lily put it on before me.

"I guess..but what job did you pick?".

"I pick the one where you have to pick plant seed and water it using the watering can…which is outside of the hotel".

"Why do you pick the dangerous one?".

"Well you did too..plus the one that I picked is near yours so let's watch each other back…and If you need help..don't scream or yell but come to me okay?".

I nodded.

When I and Lily finished putting on our outfits, we both started to head out and begin our tasks. And while I was trying to clean the toilet, using the sponge and soap, I began to hear some whisper in my ears, calling my name, beside me.

"Jasmine~. Jasmine~.".

I started to freak out when I heard that so I decided to yell Lily's name. But right when I yell her name, I begin to realize something that I should've done.

Oh no what did I do…it's gonna attract those evilness around me. I'm gonna die!

But I didn't because the moment those creatures came, I was saved by someone, who had a warm chest.

It feels like a male chest, holding me against his, while it's breathing very warm and fast.
