POOL PARTY

"It marvels me that we are already in the third term," Joan said to Shelly and Rita on their way to the library. "Yeah, this is the third week already," Shelly said. It was a Tuesday afternoon.

"Are you girls going to Fred's pool party next week Friday" Rita finally spoke up. "Are you going?" Shelly threw the question back to her. "Of course, why would I miss a pool party, we're all invited," Rita said. "I'm not going" Shelly and Joan chorused at the same time.

"Whether you like it or not, you two are coming with me. It's not safe for a lady like me to go there alone without my friends" Rita said. "Then don't go" Joan answered. "I don't know what you see in all these parties," Shelly said. "Please I'm begging you, as my friends do this for me," she said sadly.

Shelly and Joan could not bare seeing her like that. "Okay," they both chorused. "Fine then, I know you would agree. It's on Friday by 4 pm" she said. "We know," Joan said and they happily walked to the library.

Joan and Peter were in class discussing as the girls left and Fred walked up to them. "Hay guys," Fred said. "Hay" they both chorused. " So are you guys coming for the pool party next week Friday at my house?" Fred asked. "I heard about the pool party but I'm not sure I'll come," John said. "Me too," Peter said.

"Come on guys, it will be fun. You'll have yourself to be blamed if you miss it" Fred tried to convince them. "No, thank you," John said. "We will think about it," Peter said and John was surprised. "Okay but please I want to see you there," Fred said and walked away.

"What do you mean by we will think about it," John asked. "Let's just go at least for once," Peter said and the girls walked into the class. Peter stood up for Shelly to sit while Joan and Rita went to their seat and Peter was standing.

"What are you guys talking about," Shelly asked them. "Fred's pool party, are you girls going," Peter asked. "Yes" they chorused and John looked at them in surprise. "I'll be going too," Peter said and left. "Shelly why are you going," John asked facing her. "Rita made me agree, are you not going," she asked. "I never wanted to go but since you're going I'll go," he said. "Yes, I know you can't have me go alone when there will be a lot of guys there," she said laughing. "You might be right," he said also laughing, then they continued to talk.

"Shelly hurry up" Rita shouted. She was at Shelly's residence with Joan. It was on Friday, the day of Fred's pool party. "I'm coming she shouted from upstairs. Joan and Rita decided to sit down impatiently waiting for her.

In not quite long she came down, she was wearing a kneel level skirt and a T-shirt. She was holding a sun hat and sunglass. She walked up to where they were sitting.

" Finally, what took you so long" Joan complained. "Sorry, I needed to wrap up something I was doing before you came," she said. "Wait Shelly, don't tell me this is what you are wearing," Rita said. "What's wrong with my outfit," she said as she looked at herself twice. "We are going to a pool party so where is your beach cloth" Rita said.

"I'm okay in this outfit unless you don't want me to go. I can't go about exposing my body all in the name of a pool party" she said. "Don't mind her, the outfit is okay" Joan said. "Thank you" she answered and Rita looked at the both of them.

"Okay I give up, you look beautiful and attractive too," Rita said talking to Shelly. "Yeah" she answered. "You don't look bad yourself," she told her. She was wearing a short that was at her kneel level and a short top with a jacket. "Thank you" she answered. Joan was wearing the same outfit as Shelly.

"Enough of the compliment, we need to go," Rita said as they went to enter the car. "Where is John?" Shelly asked Joan as they were in the car. "He said he will meet us there, that he is waiting for Peter" she answered. "Oh, okay," she said. In no time they were at Fred's residence.

Shelly's driver dropped them and he left. They went inside and saw that a lot of people were there. They walked inside and observed the place, Shelly spotted a small shade with few chairs and she pointed for them to go sit there. They went there and sat down.

"There are a lot of shameless people here Shelly said talking to them. " Yes, I can't even recognize some of our classmates," Joan said. "I want to look for Fiona and the rest, I'll come back later," Rita said and stood up. "Okay," Joan said. "Be safe and stay away from boys" Rita said to Shelly and they all laughed, then she left.

Soon they saw Peter and John walking in, they waved and they saw them and went to where they were sitting. "Hay ladies," Peter said. "Hay" they chorused. "Where is Rita?" John asked. "She went to look for some girls in our class" Shelly answered.

"Can we go?" Peter said turning to Joan. "Yes, bye Shelly" she said and followed him. "Great, my friend has just left me," Shelly said as John sat down close to her. "I'm here," he said. "I know" she answered. "You look beautiful," he said. "Thanks and you look handsome in your shirt and shorts" she added. "Thank you" he replied. "Did Peter lie to his father before coming here?" she asked. "No, his father allowed him," he said. "Surprising," she said.

"Wait here, I want to talk to some guys," John said and stood up. "You too," she said frowning. "I'll be back before you know it," he said and left. "Great, I'm now alone" she murmured and put her shades on.

"Shelly Bill can see you're enjoying the party" she heard someone say. She removed her shades and looked up and saw it was Fred. ," No but you've got a great party here" she said and he sat down in one of the chairs. "Let me guess, your friends left you," he said. "Yes but I'm alright," she said and they continued to talk. "It was nice talking to you," he said and stood up. "Same here, I'll see you later," she said and he left.

"I need to look for Rita," she said and stood up. She searched for her and saw her with some group of guys. She knew Rita was having trouble, so she walked up to them. "Thank you very much," she said and dragged Rita and they went back to their shade.

"Thank you for rescuing me," Rita said to Shelly. "You're welcome and how did you end up with them," she asked. "I was on my way back when they stopped me" she responded. "Be careful, wait here let me get John" Shelly said and left.

When she was looking for John, the same guy that she rescued Rita from stopped her. "Pretty girl, mind if you join us over there," one of the guys said. "Sorry but I'm looking for someone," she said and intended to walk away but one of the guys blocked her. "Didn't know I'll have to go through this again" she whispered and brought out her phone and pretended to be talking to her dad.

"Hello dad, there are some guys that don't want to leave me alone, can you send your soldiers to come and get them....." before she could even finish her statement they ran away. She kept her phone and laughed. "It's Kind of good when people know you're the president daughter" she whispered and continued to look for John. Soon she saw him in a shade with some group of girls talking. She went closer to them and hid in an artificial palm tree that was close to the umbrella shade and she listened carefully to what they were saying.

"You have to believe everything I'm saying, I like you. You mean the whole world to me and you're very handsome and I would like to be your girlfriend" the girl said and Shelly was surprised she didn't come out. she decided to continue listening.

The girl continued talking to John. They were five in number and the leader of the group was the one talking to John. "Are you done" John asked. "Yes," the girl answered. "Sorry but I've got a girlfriend, I don't need another" John said and signified for them to leave and they left feeling embarrassed. Shelly could hear them blaming themselves for approaching him in the first place.
