1 Betrayal and Punishment

Ten thousand years ago,

The heavenly realm

"I didn't do it! lets me go!" Two masked men wearing white garments dragged a man whose face was covered into a large throne room. There were five people on the left side and all of them wore a white cloak and on the right side were another Five people each wearing a white cloak that didn't show their face and at the center was an old man with long grey hair. seated by his side was a woman with a crown on her head and his other side was a man who wore a frown on his face and seems like he wasn't interested in anything that was going on.

"The heavenly session has now started!" The old man seated at the center announced and hit the white gavel on the table. The room grew silent and the guards holding the chained man revealed his face. "Christian, as the king of heaven, you have committed a grave sin," The old man referred to the silver-haired chained man who was also dressed in a white garment. His face was oval-shaped with a sharp jawline and piercing purple eyes.

"Elder Jacob," he called the old man's name. "What are you accusing me of? I didn't do anything wrong!" Christian shouted.

The old man hit the gavel yet again and pointed to his left side. "Lord Elijah thinks differently," The first man on the left side stood up and removed the cloak from his head.

"You've been accused of breaking the laws of heaven King Christian," Lord Elijah was a short man with blue hair and glowing red eyes.

"What laws did I break?" Christian demanded. "I am the king of heaven. What crime did I do to deserve all of this?"

The door leading to the room opened wide. A red-haired lady was dragged into the room by two guards and behind him was another man who held a golden fan in his hands but his face was covered with a black mask. "Veronica?"Christian eyes widened as the woman was bought forward. " why are you here?" He demanded.

Veronica glared at Christian with her piercing brown eyes and then turned towards Elder Jacob. "Elders," she bowed her head to the old man and the two people by her side. " I am here to confess about King Christian's sin," She announced. "King Christian has committed a great sin to the heavens," she began to list Christian's sin while the latter stared in awe.

Christian had never done any of the things Veronica laid down. He had never killed an angel and had also never lied since it was against the law of heaven. The woman he loved had betrayed him without blinking an eye. "Why are you doing this Veronica?" He asked her. "If anyone was threatening you....."

"No one threatened me, King Christian," she interrupted and faced him with no emotions. "You had me fooled and even promised to marry me! You don't deserve to be king," Tears rolled down veronica's face as she expressed how she felt but they were not as great as Christian's pain.

He felt betrayed, hurt and his stomach hurt as if it was tied in knots. "Did you agree to these accusations?"

Christian blinked a tear away as he stared at the woman he loved. They were supposed to get married at the end of the week but it was all over. "Please tell them that this isn't true Veronica. You know I could never do....."

"Take her away!" Lord Elijah ordered the guards. "Seeing as she is here. He won't admit his sins, " The guards grabbed Veronica's hands and dragged her out of the room.

Christian and Veronica stared at each other as she was dragged out of the room. "Now, King Christian. Do you admit to your sin?" Lord Elijah asked him. "Do you agree that you are responsible for everything she said?"

Christian had nothing to say because what could come out of his mouth that would be true. His lover had betrayed him. The one whom he adore and promised to be with forever. "Why are we wasting time?" The masked man who had escorted Veronica inside walked towards Christian. "He is nothing but a sinner and he deserves to be punished," the masked man smiled and fanned himself with his hand fan.

"Since your sins have been laid down, is there anything you will like to say, King Christian?" Elder Jacob asked one last time.

Christian lowered his head and bite his lips pretty hard to suppress the pain and agony Veronica had put him through. He clenched his fists and looked up to the elders. "I admit to nothing because I didn't do anything wrong!"

"Your lover says otherwise," Elder Deborah, the woman on the left side of Elder Jacob retorted. "Whether you admit to it doesn't matter because we already have a witness."

"King Christian, because you've broken the laws of heaven. You shall be banished as a god to earth!"

"Earth! That's absurd! I am the king!" Christian shouted and struggled against the silver chain clasped firmly in his hands. "There is no way a god can live amongst humans!"

"Which is why you will live like the king of the werewolves!" Elder Jacob announced.

"You are sending me to earth to become a mere mortal. You believe a word of a servant over mine?" Christian scoffed and lowered his head. "Is that all?" He demanded in a low yet powerful voice.

"To find redemption for your sin, you shall be given until the next red moon to find the woman who has the same face as your lover and you shall kill her," Elder Jacob announced another absurdity that made Christian stand up.

"The next red moon!" He shouted. "That's thousands of years and why should I kill her! Would she be reborn? Would she even exist? This is your scheme to send me out of heaven!" Christian shouted and kicked the chair he sat on away. "You can't take my position away from me!"

"If the situation allows it then yes King Christian!" Elder Jacob yelled and hit the gavel. "That woman needs to be killed else you will die on earth as a mere mortal. She will be reborn in thousands of years to come. Find her and kill her if you wished to return to heaven!"

"You are all crazy!" Christian screamed and tried to use his power but nothing worked. He groaned again as he tried to free himself from the chain.

"That's the eternal chain. You can't use your power here any longer. From now on, you are no longer the king of heaven but of the werewolves!" Elder Jacob declared. "You have until the next red moon!" He said and hit the gavel.
