"if you don't get my money in two days then get somewhere else to live. is that understood"

my landlady is really harsh and can't understand anyone's troubles so I don't have an option but to just agree to her condition.

I nod and she leaves after rolling her eyes at me. I sigh. now what am I going to do. I decide to quit sleeping and go look for a sensible job. I find two girls talking about some maid company though I don't like the company they are talking about. it's not to be trusted. I swear. they say that they promised to get them good jobs in good houses but I doubt they will even do anything. I decide to just try my luck just in case.

I find some old woman with very shabby hair. she's wearing spectacles. she looks up at me.

"and how can I help you"

her voice is scary. I swallow hard and just say what I came for.

"uh .... I am looking for a job."

"so that means you want to be a maid somewhere"

I nod. she looks through a certain file. she says "what's your name, actually fill in the details in this document and come back after two days"

two days?! but I will be homeless then. anyway I decide to just do as she has told me. I fill in the document and hand it back to her. I don't even think I will be able to get a job in there. this company is shit. it doesn't help anyone. I even regret having signed up in it. argh ... let me just wait for the two days to end and if I am jobless I will just wait for my death day on the streets.

in Australia there is a young guy seated in his room at a hotel taking some tea when another guy comes into the room.

"thank God you have come. roseley wants a new maid and she has been calling me ever since last night to get her one. could you help me and just get the company to send one"

the second guy dials a number on his phone and makes a call.

"I want a new maid sent to Haynes estate" he says.

"oh sorry sir...the maids we had are done"

"so can't I get one now. Mason won't be happy about it you know"

"of course you can get one. I will send one immediately" the woman from the other side of the line seems so scared

"thank you"

he ends the call.

"they will send her one immediately"

"thanks a lot Nelson"

"anything for you Mason"

back at the company that Diane applied to. the shabby haired woman gets a call from a bigger maids company.

"yes hullo how can I help you"

"this is the First class maids company and you know of it right"

"yes of course I do"

"we heard that you have girls that want to work as maids is that true"

"yes ma'am it's true"

"can I have one sent to my company as early as tomorrow morning. I need her to get ready for an urgent job I will give you the amount of money you ask for"

the woman is overwhelmed by the word money and she immediately accepts the offer. she sends the details of Diane to the company.

as Diane is done showering her landlady comes over. she seems furious.

"I am tired of waiting for you. I can't give you the two days. get out"

I am flabbergasted. it's night time. why would she send me away now.

"but ma'am I ---"

"don't tell me crap. get out. I have new people ready to enter this house tomorrow. get out"

"I can't----"

"I have men coming over to clean it and if they find you here they may get horny better Leave"

I pack up my clothes in a suitcase and leave. I wonder where I am going to go. I am crying. the night is still young but God knows what will happen to me along these streets. just then my phone rings.

"hullo"

"you must be Diane Stimpson"

"that's me"

"well this is the first class maids company and we want to offer you a job in one of the mansions. we want you to report here tomorrow"

"can I come over now"

"that's better. use only thirty minutes"

"of course sure"

I am so happy that I get a taxi that drops me there. they give me a room to sleep in after asking me some questions about my education. thank God I did well just that I never got to finish college because of money after my parents died and my family chased me away saying I was a disgrace. I am going to report to the house I will be working in tomorrow morning.

I just pray life goes well for me.
