Chapter 5

I kept on thinking about what Odin had said earlier about Ariel, both of us were lonely and had anger issues, but he had channelled his anger and loneliness into developing his talents, whereas, I was just good in burning a piece of wood and nothing else.

I needed to get stronger if I were to survive and find out about my parents. I drifted off to sleep, wondering, if I possessed other talents as well, like Ariel.

Friday came quickly and we were supposed to meet our elders. Mr. Turner called us to his office, and as we entered his familiar office, I saw those people whom I had met in the woods, sitting on the other end of the table, with Mr. Turner.

Mr. Turner stood up as he called us in and ushered us to take a seat opposite them and introduced us to them.

"This here is Mr. Odin Austin, and he can be trained under you Agatha",Mr. Turner said, leading Odin to the pretty woman, who I had seen that day.

She gave a disapproving look and casually remarked,"Dolores, it seems like this year, the talents are surprisingly below our expectations, but I guess we'll have to make do for now"

I gritted my teeth, angry at how she was insulting us, and by the looks of it, Hector was, as well, but we couldn't do anything. They were far too powerful I feared.

"Aren't you a fiesty one?",she said, looking at me. "What, you think you're as good as the ones we've trained before?",she mocked me, as she came towards me and pinched my face.

She was as evil as she was pretty. On the outside, she was just pinching my face, but it seemed like she was reading my thoughts and looking through me. I stood there like an idiot, unable to do anything, but somehow I gathered all my willpower to block her intrusion.

I barely managed to stop her for a couple of seconds, but it drained a lot of my energy and I slumped into my chair.

"Not bad, but kid, you aren't my match",she said and leaned into me and added in a low voice,"I don't like people laying their eyes on my stuffs, so you'd better keep those childish dreams to yourself".

I flushed, angry at myself for being too weak, and being bullied by this woman. I just stared at her, anger apparent in my eyes, while she looked at me maliciously.

I was already in her hate list, when she read my thoughts of admiration for the silver eyed man, but what could I do.

"Alright Agatha, that's enough. You may leave first with Odin",Mr. Turner finally said, and Agatha obeyed him. Was Mr. Turner really all that powerful?,I wondered. But no matter whether he was powerful or not, she still obeyed him as she took Odin with her and disappeared.

I was shocked, could these elders even just disappear at will? I wondered if I would ever be strong enough to appear and disappear at my will.

Hector was assigned to a Davik Moore, but since Mr. Moore wasn't here currently, he left with the other silver eyed man, named Raphael Angelus, which left Jason to leave with the gray eyed man, who Mr. Turner addressed as Mr. Alex Peterson.

Now that all of them had left, I was left alone with the silver eyed, silver haired man. He glanced his look along my way, and for just a mere second, I thought he had a melancholic look.

I looked at Mr. Turner ,thinking he would at least introduce me to this man, like he did for the others, but to my surprise, he turned to the man and said,"She's all yours now. Don't let your past emotions hinder your fine abilities to train her Raguel"

He nodded with a grim expression, and I wondered if he wasn't happy that he got me as his trainee, but nevertheless, he still said,"Don't expect me to go easy on you. Follow me"

I went towards him, and expected him to hold my hand and disappear just like all the others, but to my surprise, he did nothing of that sort.

He simply took off his shirt, and I got a chance to glimpse at his toned body. I wondered what he was going to do, but what he did next, answered all my doubts and questions.

He went outside Mr. Turner's office, and called me to stand in front of him, and lifted me up, as though I didn't weigh anything.

He then spread his wings, which unfolded from his back and was as tall as his body. It had majestic silver feathers, much like the color of his eyes, which slammed upward, as he was ready to take flight.

For once, I thought I was already dead and the grim reaper had come to collect my soul. I shut my eyes tight, and clutched onto him, my hands holding his arms, as tightly as I could.

Mr. Turner looked at Raguel and laughed as he told me, "He actually didn't need to take off his shirt for that",gesturing at his wings.

"Dolores, are you planning to train her yourself?",he asked him, hearing Mr. Turner's conversation with me.

At that, Mr. Turner quickly took a step back, away from me and my mentor and went inside his office, his services no longer required here.

'So why did he take it off?', I wondered, about his actions and looked at him curiously.

We were already flying at thousands of feet above and could even see the airplanes flying below us.

"How am I still alive? I don't think there is oxygen here at such a height?",I asked him and he simply looked at me, as if I had asked the most stupid question, and continued to fly, not bothering in the least to give me any explanation.

"Cold and broody. What a piece of work", I thought to myself and he looked at me wit a smirk.

"Did he just read my thought?",I wondered and wished if I could hear people's thoughts as well or protect my thoughts from being read by others, like now.

"Hold on tight, we're going to land now", he said and I held his arms with all my might. He chuckled and said,"Not that tight kid".
