The New Weapon

Over the next week, Daniel kept busy. He was waiting on the lab to be built, while the materials were already delivered. Surprisingly, and a bit disappointingly, Lily decided to build the lab in a large underground room on her estate.

Daniel was hoping the lab would be built somewhere in the city, so that he could have some personal freedom. However, Lily seemed that she wanted to keep her cash cow close to herself. Daniel complained, but Lily said that for only 0.5%, she couldn't afford to purchase or rent property.

The lab was expected to be finished by the end of the week. It was equipped with the most high tech experimental equipment on the market. Daniel could safely say that Lily spared no expense whatsoever.

In the meantime, Daniel was not complacent. He cultivated for 6 hours everyday while spending the rest of his time switching between sword practice, and research into the current science and technological advancements.

It was the first time since coming to the future that he felt truly relaxed. Even though he kept busy, it felt nice having a routine.

Daniel felt that when he arrived, he had been rushed and in constant motion, not knowing what tomorrow might bring. He enjoyed the rush and excitement of that lifestyle, but being able to calm down now made him realize the importance of having that luxury. He would not take it for granted.

Daniel's cultivation progressed slowly. His Nano-cells were able to absorb about 0.1% of Reality Energy per day. After his initial breakthrough, his stats did not increase as dramatically.

Thinking of his Status, Daniel pulled it up to take a look.

Daniel felt a but disappointed when looking at his progress. By others standards, his speed was outrageously fast, but he knew that the only thing holding him back was energy. If he had energy stones, he would be able to make rapid progress. Perhaps even become a Level 1 Life Form.

During his sword practice, he was still stuck at the limit of the basic sword moves. He was unable to find inspiration, to take that next step. Daniel had the feeling that he would make the breakthrough during his Tower challenge.

As the week came to a close, the lab was finally completed. Excited and ready to get started, he went to the large underground facility, that would soon be his lab.

When he entered the elevator and started his descent into the earth, his heart started to speed up. He couldn't help but feel excited. It reminded him of when his Mom would buy him science kits as a kid.

The elevator doors opened, and a sterile white colored room appeared before his eyes. Machines lined the walls. Equipment straight out of science fiction movies were everywhere. Daniel's heart skipped a beat, as he smiled a toothy grin. It was time for him to get to work!

He first went over to the parts that he had ordered and inspected them. The last thing he wanted was an accident happening because of faulty parts.

When everything passed his inspection, Daniel started familiarizing himself with the machines in the lab. Over the past week, part of his time was spent learning how to operate the equipment in his lab. It would be very embarrassing to get there and not know how to do anything.

After spending some time messing around, he got to work. He started to weld and shape the K-15 super alloy in to the desired form. Next he started to work on the wiring and electronics of the weapon. It was somewhat of a delicate process, as any small mistake would make everything a pile of scrap metal. However, with his fine body control, mistakes were not something that would naturally occur.

With all the easy parts of the project completed, Daniel now faced his biggest challenge, the power source. What he was creating needed a constant supply of energy, that could last long periods of time. He needed to make sure that the weapon would not run out of juice in the middle of a battle.

Currently, the highest form of energy on the planet was fusion energy. Through many breakthroughs, scientists have been able to miniaturize the fusion reactor. Now, it was used all over the planet, and was even used to power the hover cars and planes.

Unfortunately for Daniel, this was not a viable option for his weapon. It just did not meet his desired calculations. More importantly, the world government would never allow citizens to make fusion devices in their homes. Instead, Daniel was more interested in finding ways to use the energy of the user, to power the device.

All of Daniel's target market were Climbers. One thing that all Climbers share, is that they have some sort of energy is their bodies. Some use this energy to cast spells, while others have no viable way as of yet to use it. Daniel would fall into the latter category.

Daniel was able to borrow a nature stone, fire stone, and soul stone, from the three girls. He of course, had to promise to return them once he was done. The reason that he needed them was that he needed to make sure his device was able to work with all forms of energy.

His first test was using a device similar to a power cell. His hope was that you could push your energy into the power cell, and it would then store the energy until use. While the device was successful when storing electricity, it could not handle the strain of containing mystical energies.

With the first test a failure, Daniel went back to the drawing board. He then realized that he doesn't need to make a weapon that works for everybody, he just needs to make one that works for its user.

Realizing this, Daniel came up with a new hypothesis. The best holder of any mystical energy is the human body, so if we take a small sample of the user and combine it with the weapon it could potentially store the users energy.

Each cell in the human body, can store a huge amount of energy. Thus, Daniel didn't need to take a large chunk of flesh.

Daniel created a tiny clear spherical ball, and placed a small drop of his blood into it. He then started to push a small amount of Reality Energy into the blood. It was instantly absorbed. A smile crept up on his face as he knew he succeeded.

Taking the clear ball, he put it inside the weapon. Daniel had to add a few extra components to the weapon so that the blood drop would be preserved for an extended period of time. A single drop of blood could last for around a week without being saturated with energy. With energy it could potentially last indefinitely.

Tweaking a few parts and also adding an energy field stabilizer, completed the weapon.

Daniel stood in the lab, holding what looked to be a hilt of a sword. He pressed a button, and a multicolored energy blade sprang to life.

Daniel stared off into the distance and said, "For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
