Book 1 Chapter 2

Time Skip 4 years:

I'm currently running up home tree to get to the very top, it's one of my favorite views of Pandora so far. You can see hundreds of clicks away and it takes your breath away how majestic it is. Though It's not like I can go very far when I'm only 5 years old.

Speaking of which Neytiri was born a few weeks after I made my first Tsaheylu with Eywa. She was adorable and I loved pinching her cheeks and holding her little hand whenever she felt alone. A lot of time it was just us and our sister Sylwanin due to our parents being the leaders of the tribe. Always busy always something to do for the people.

I didn't really mind it due to being much older than my physical body, but it was a little harder on the girls due to them being just kids. I did my best to play games with them and try to connect on an emotional level so they wouldn't feel so alone. Neytiri followed me around like a lost puppy which was adorable, so I usually take her along whenever I go walk around or to the top of home tree.

Our sister on the other hand is a few years older than us so she has her own friends and things she likes to do. We do get together a lot and she teaches me what she learns of the forest and other things about pandora which I find absolutely fascinating compared to my old life. Everything here is so vibrant it all has its own purpose, like a well fit puzzle piece just on a global scale. Life, death, rebirth, all in a cycle fueling the natural order of Pandora. All run and guided by Eywa the great mother.

Flashback 2 weeks ago:

As I, Sylwanin, Neytiri, and Tsu'tey all gather around the female Hexapede we listen as Sylwanin explains the will of Eywa.

Sylwanin: {The flow of energy is all through Eywa, she protects the spirit of animals. We must embrace the animal we are making a bond to.} As she is saying this, she makes the bond to the Hexapede and jumps up to her back. She guides the animal around the dirt path letting us all see how she moves around with ease.

Sylwanin: {Now that you have seen how to do it would any of you like to try?}

Tsu'tey: {I will be a great hunter I will tame this beast!} As Tsu'tey steps forward towards the nearest Hexapede he has an arrogant walk like he owns him. Which the animal doesn't seem to appreciate as he stumbles backwards due to the hexapod snorting and stomping towards him.

We all laugh at his blunder

Dro'ak: {Brother you did not listen to sister you have to embrace him and be one. Let me show you how its done.}

As I walk past Tsu'tey, I lift my arm and let the Hexapede smell me as I near his side I run my hands across his rough skin and strong muscles. I can feel him taking deep breaths and I grab my braid to connect the bond. I feel him on a whole different level, it's like I am the beast and he is me. I now understand what sister was talking about when she said we must embrace the animal.

With my knowledge of animals on pandora it makes sense that with each different creature we bond to there would be a difference on how you treat and act with them. I then jump on to his back and get steady with my legs in good position. Wouldn't want to end up on my ass like Sully when he first rode, covered in mud and laughed at by the tribe. Speaking of the tribe there is a small gathering around us now, watching their future Olo'eyktan make his first bond to an animal. I start out with a slow walk and then into a slow trot. I think it feels easy enough so I urge the Hexapede to gallop and he takes off running throwing me off balance. Guess what I fell in the mud, but it wasn't that bad the tribe had a good laugh and I thought it was funny as well.

Neytiri runs over face full of concern for me.

Neytiri: "Dro'ak are you okay? You must be more careful I wouldn't want to see you get hurt." Her little blue hands grabbing onto mine. I Stand up with her help as I brush the dirt of me and my fairly revealing clothes.

Dro'ak: "Thanks for the help Neytiri, I at least was able to ride one unlike someone."

I shot Tsu'tey a look as if I achieved the impossible, feeling quite proud that I lasted longer than most kids. Oh, did I mention that everyone falls which is why I didn't take it to heart, it will all come in due time.

Sylwanin: {You did well Dro'ak keep practicing and you'll be able to ride in no time}

I saw many of the tribe nod their head in an agreement from the corner of my eye. Seems like I didn't do to bad, now just repetition until I get it right.

All the kids tried to ride the Hexapede the rest of the day and when sunset came, we all had a decent grasp on riding around the training area. Maybe next time we can go out to the forest, I'm dying to learn some survival skills and the lay of the land. I Feel something deep and primal calling me to the woods wanting to explore, jump from tree to tree, hunt prey and adventure towards unknown lands. I feel my blood boil in excitement at the thought.

Back to the present:

As I'm sitting at the top of home tree, I let the memories of the last 5 years run through my head and still can't believe I'm here in the forests of pandora. I suddenly feel movement below me and as I look down Neytiri giggles at my confusion filled face.

Dro'ak: {What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be at your lessons?} I think back to this morning and mother was supposed to start teaching Neytiri about how to commune with Eywa and start her teachings on becoming the next Tsahik.

Neytiri: {I do have lessons, but mother thought it a good idea you showed up as well from what I heard you are very close to Eywa since your first bonding.} Having heard the story of my first bond with Eywa at the soul of trees where I was covered in spirit seeds.

So, I jumped down and followed her down to mother so she can help us with our communication with the Eywa. Which I felt was probably in my best interest to be on good terms with her due to our little plan between us.

As the days pass, I was soon included in the daily training of a bow, and knives. Primitive if you ask me, but we are 10 ft blue monkeys with naturally occurring carbon fiber bones. Which in my opinion makes a deadly combo for anything I may run across, especially when I think like a human and will be upgrading my bow and knives when I get the chance.

Speaking of humans, we don't actually see very many of them around, I mean we know they are their destroying the forest, and to the other Na'vi digging giant holes. Which I know they are mining for unobtanium which is apparently quite expensive. I need to take a sample and see what properties make it so valuable. If I can bring some of it to my inner world, I could stockpile it before I leave and have some exotic metal to work with when I learn how to mold and use it appropriately. The humans have started coming around with their avatars from what Father has said, he claims there have been sightings of Na'vi that are dressed like sky-people and carry their weapons. I'm not sure if they have had any contact yet but I will worry about that later.

I have gone through my memories quite a few times to understand the plot line of the movie, and next thing that comes to mind would be Grace's school. I remember Neytiri being 7 when the school opened which would leave us 3 years' time until then. I will need to get sent there to learn from them with my sisters. I think it would be easy to convince Father and Mother to let me go, with me being next in line to be the Olo'eyktan I'll be able to learn and keep an eye on the sky-people. I'll have to watch out for Sylwanin though, I have grown attached to the people, they are all like my family. I remember Neytiri starts to hate sky-people due to the death of her sister at the school and I can't let that happen.

As time moves forward 3 years past in a blink of an eye.
