Diana Gramy

What the fuck?

It was unbelievable!

If someone where to tell Diana Gramy that someone like him would come hunt her in the future—figuratively speaking— she would have laughed the person to scorn.

But here she was watching a video of 'the new thing' on her phone while taking a cup of chilled orange juice and relaxing on her bed with a look of grim on her face.

She was alone in the house—with the maids of course. Her parents had gone out for their scheduled function outside the states and they were not going to be back till two weeks after.

What kind of parents would leave their only girl at home for two weeks?

But then she was okay with it, considering the fact that this was not the first time it was happening.

Ariel, her bff, had sent her this video immediately after capturing it.

Who told her she would be interested in such things? She would have to have a talk with her when next they would meet. Which was this evening.

Sky Golden.

Asshole of the 21st century.

The bane of her existence in every aspect.

As she looked on at the video, she took in his now grown face.

Pitch black hair, of which some fell over his thick eyebrows.

.

Nigh golden eyes that always seemed to have a glow to them. Or perhaps only she could see it.

.

Smooth, expertly chiseled face that could contend with a greek god's.

.

Interestingly pink lips which were now connected to Macie's.

Ugh!

What kind of irony was life trying to play exactly?

She didn't exactly hate him back then. She didn't want to. But it had to happen.

He was always flirting with those young, dumb and broke girls, or was it the other way around?

He never paid any attention to her despite knowing she felt something for him.

When he did turn to her, it was with a terrible sneer.

What could she do? Apart from hate him?

Sky Golden.

Now he was here. And he was already into Macie.

But his face now, he didn't look pleased about kissing the whore of mystery. He looked innocent and forced into it.

Another unbelievable fact.

He couldn't have changed could he?

But ten years was enough time for someone to change wasn't it?

Luckily, or rather unfortunately, he didn't recognise her, just as always. And he was now her seatmate.

So she would have to sit beside him for a long long time, and pretend she didn't know him from Adam.

Talk about frustration.

But it was a well known fact that guys who Macie took interest in eventually ended up in bed with her.

How? Nobody knew.

That was why she was called the whore of mystery in the first place.

Well, that didn't bother her. As long as he didn't try to reel her in somehow into the game he and Macie would begin to play, all was good.

Or so she thought.

The video ended with Macie leaning back on her seat, sexual innuendo oozing out of her like dog smell and Sky with a perplexed expression.

She hissed and promptly deleted the video. Then she scanned for any latest news and gossip she could find and seeing nothing of interest, dropped the phone and placed the glass of juice on her bedside table.

She stood up from her bed with a stretch and a yawn.

She walked over to her full length mirror and a very familiar person stared back at her.

Her clone. Her secret.

This Diana in the mirror had red long waist length hair that seemed to have a life of their own as they made graceful ethereal movements behind her. Her face was more mature looking and her eyebrows and lips were red coloured.

The aura this Diana exuded was extremely dangerous as it had a feel of severe killing intent. The most noticable and by far the most suspicious part of this clone was what was behind it.

Trailing behind the clone was a pair of red wings spanning well over eight feet. It's features could be summed up in one word. Strong.

Apart from the added color and other worldly body part; the wings, the Daina in the full lenght mirror maintained the same position the real one took.

It made only such movements as she did, not necessarily looking harmful.

Diana snapped her fingers and the clone faded away, revealing the real, normal Diana.

She sighed. She didn't know what it meant nor was she interested in finding out.

No one would understand, heck her parents didn't even know about this!

Luckily, she wasn't the only weird one in the school. There were some people who had special abilities. Of course they were trying to hide it but she knew them. There was this vibe she would always feel when she came in contact with any of them.

She had always wondered if they felt the vibe too, because nobody seemed to approach her on the matter.

She would have loved to live a normal life like she did when she was younger. But with every passing day, the feeling that there was more to her and the world she didn't know about only magnified. And so did her fear...

Buzz buzz!

The electric bell rang out from downstairs. It was probably Ariel.

"Coming!" She yelled as she hastened to pick her phone before heading downstairs and opening the door.

In front of the door was Ariel who was dressed in a purple long sleeved top, polka dot mini skirt, thigh high purple socks and heels.

Typical Ariel.

Her best friend.

"Hey girl!" Ariel squelled out like she hadn't seen Diana in a long while.

"Hi." Diana replied, opening the door wider and moving aside so Ariel could come in.

When she did, Daina shut the door and they both sat on one of the sofas in the living room.

Ariel clasped her hands on her knees and Diana already knew what she was going to say next.

"So first things first, have you watched the video I sent to you?" Ariel asked with a strange kind of smile on her face.

Diana rolled her eyeballs. "Yes and it's crap. Why did you send me that video? You know I am not into all those things Ariel."

Ariel scoffed. "As if. I know you wanted me to send you that video. If I didn't, you would have made me regret it for the rest of my life." She laughed.

Now there was a frown on Diana's face.

"You don't get it! This is different."

Ariel's eyebrow shot up. "And how is this different?"

"I—" Diana stopped. What exactly did she want to say? How would she begin to tell the story of one of her many regrets? How would she relate to her best friend that she had not only met him before but had actually lived with him long before she met her?

She closed her eyes, breathed out deeply and leaned into the sofa.

Ariel narrowed her eyes at Diana.

"Why do I have a feeling there is something you don't want to tell me?"

Diana shook her head.

"It's not that I don't want to tell you. I just don't want to relive any of those moments right now."

Those moments? There was something Diana wasn't telling her for sure but she would get to the root of it.

Ariel sighed. "Fine, let's put that aside and talk about me."

Diana smiled, opening her eyes. "We always talk about you."

Ariel raised a hand. "Keep in mind that we do it because we have to. Besides I tried talking about you just now even though it was sort of indirectly, and what did I get in return?"

Diana shrugged. "Let's just talk about you alright?"

Ariel humphed. "Fine by me."

"So how is T-rex doing?" Diana asked, almost breaking into a laugh.

"Girl I've told you to stop calling him T-rex." Ariel whined. "His name is Tobias for heaven's sake."

"I hear you. But I won't stop calling him T-rex until he stops calling me peacock."

Now it was Ariel who laughed. Diana had a hurt expression on her face now.

"I'm so sorry. I just—" Ariel tried to be sober, but failed woefully. She laughed hard again. Tears began falling off her face.

"I don't know what's so funny."

Ariel took in deep breaths and calmed herself.

"Okay...okay. Anyway, Tobias is fine. He is taking me out on a date next week."

"Really?" Diana asked dully.

"Why are you not excited for me?"

"You think I am not?"

Ariel kept mute. She knew why Diana was like this. Personally, although she could say they had been friends for some years now, she couldn't say she knew a lot about Diana. But one thing was for sure, she knew Diana's longing for a male who would adore her.

She said so herself, once.

"Don't be sad Diana. Maybe I will ask Tobias if we can take you along?"

"No. I can't do that to you. I'm sorry for my inexcitement. Can you forgive me?"

"Of course." Ariel replied, satisfied that Diana was okay with it.

"So, what do you say about some apple pie?"

Ariel placed a hand on her chest, a sober expression on her face.

"You always know how to treat your guest and best friend right."

"Duh." Diana stood up and headed into the kitchen.

***

It was sunset now and Diana felt tired and stressed out. She had seen Ariel off a while ago and now it was just her, her phone and the maids.

She was on her bed now and her mind coudn't but stray from her phone to him.

Somehow, she had the feeling that there was a reason why Sky would appear here at this time, a reason that even he did not know about.

And she always trusted her instincts. She wouldn't have been bothered assuming that feeling did not make her feel she was going to be part of whatever was going to be happening in the near future.

Not just this human part of her, but her other self that she had tried to shut out of her life since she knew about it.

And if that could happen, there was no telling what could take place. Especially with the horrible dreams she'd been having of late.

She could only hope and wish that day would never come.

But even she knew that that wish would never be granted.
