4 Chapter 4: Secretly Practicing Spells

Such a thought passed through Qin Feng's mind. The magical riot could now be activated and calmed down as needed under the guidance of his spirituality.

Seeing this situation, John also realized that the experiment was coming to an end. He reluctantly stopped his recording and handed his treasure notebook to Qin Feng, who was slowly opening his eyes.

"Is there anything wrong?" John's hoarse voice echoed in the dark room, like a broken bellow, which was quite uncomfortable. But to the five-year-old Qin Feng, he had long gotten used to it.

Skimming through the recorded data, Qin Feng's green eyes seemed to have no life, giving a cold mechanical feel.

John, familiar with the scene, nodded his head imperceptibly, once again confirming that the Imperius Curse had fully enslaved the precious material in front of him.

Although Qin Feng's rapid growth had provided John with miraculous assistance for his research and could even be delegated with some tasks, John, being a suspicious person, could not help but have a little uncertainty in his heart.

However, under his various temptations and observations, John finally let go of his suspicions. After all, even for a professional Auror, it was impossible to maintain this kind of dead-like demeanor for years under the cunning nose of a Death Eater.

It was unknown whether this kind of extreme disguise could break even the most powerful wizard, but for a mere child, it would definitely be overwhelming.

"Here, here, and here have some deviations." Qin Feng calmly handed back the notes while pointing to the three deviations with his immature fingers. His voice was so clear that it gave people a biting coldness.

After taking back the notes, John narrowed his cloudy eyes and followed Qin Feng's finger. The dark room fell into a short silence, leaving only the breathing sounds of two people, one big and one small.

"Hmm…" After a while, John nodded subtly, with a chilling arc forming on his gloomy mouth, obviously approving Qin Feng's discovery.

He stretched out his hand, black as a dead man's hand, and left a set of neat handwriting with a quill pen before gently closing the notebook whose cover was made of human skin.

"You can go back." After finishing speaking, without regard for Qin Feng's condition, John immediately stood up and prepared to leave, leaving behind only a small portion of high-energy food that was barely enough for survival.

Interestingly, this type of food was discovered by John among the supplies Qin Feng had brought back. After tasting it, John was astonished and soon decided it would be Qin Feng's three daily meals, replacing the previous menu. It was also sufficient to satisfy John's hunger while on the run.

John did not care about Qin Feng's experience, as long as he could survive, it was fine.

Of course, Qin Feng himself had no opinion on this. His body transformed by magical power enabled him to fully absorb and utilize the concentrated nutrients to the maximum extent and maintained his body.

As for the difficulty in swallowing the food, it was not within Qin Feng's consideration at all. After all, compared to the health risk brought about by eating bacteria-infested leftover foods, this high-energy food was undoubtedly the best solution at the moment.

Picking up the vacuum-packed high-energy instant meal from the floor, Qin Feng stood up immediately.

A head of messy jet-black hair grew wild and untamed. After Qin Feng cut it, it no longer resembled a bird's nest. The fair, delicate face was unfortunately obscured by dust. Only a pair of green eyes, radiant with magic, remained translucent.

He wasn't tall, comparable in height to other children his age. His slender frame was concealed by a rough cloak he had cut himself. He resembled a stray eagle, but without any hint of fragile weakness.

"Oh…right." Suddenly, John's dark figure stopped while opening the dark room's door. From the distant window, dark clouds could be seen hanging, allowing Qin Feng to know that the day was cloudy.

"I have invited a distinguished figure tonight; at that time, I will summon you. I don't want anything to go wrong." John's calm words echoed inside the dark room, but Qin Feng keenly sensed the seriousness of the matter from the cold undertone, and for once, replied:

"Okay."

"Bang." John did not reply, merely moved his wand and closed the door to the dark room, leaving only Qin Feng standing quietly in the empty stone room, enveloped by flickering candlelight.

After feeling the more condensed magical power in his body due to the magical riot, Qin Feng started today's magic practice.

Qin Feng's wand was actually a spoil obtained by John after a battle with an Auror. When it got to Qin Feng, it was greatly scarred, and even the dragon heartstring core was partially exposed to the air. This was also one of the reasons John felt safe giving the wand to Qin Feng.

Spirituality was stimulated, magic power was mobilized. As the wand in Qin Feng's hand started to move, various spells were performed.

In a flash, various dazzling sounds of spells appeared in the dark room.

"Expelliarmus."

"Petrificus Totalus."

"Reducto."

"Impedimenta."

Qin Feng's mind was highly focused. By using transfiguration on various materials into elastic balls and shooting them out randomly, making them bounce on the surrounding walls, they became a dense barrage of bullets.

As for himself, he would need to flexibly use various magic to "survive" while shooting down the balls.

As the barrage became denser, amidst the screaming sound of balls piercing through the air, Qin Feng's spells became more advanced and excessive.

"Protego."

"Protego Totalum."

"Confringo."

"Incendio."

"Diffindo."

That's right, Qin Feng knew how to use black magic. However, he was quite distressed when he first saw the extreme malice and emotions required to cast the spells from those black magic books.

He wasn't worried about the darkness eroding him, but rather that he didn't seem to possess those kinds of emotions at all.

Yet, as his understanding of the curse deepened and his spirituality grew, he found his own way around it.

He transformed the necessary emotions and malice into the concept he felt most deeply: death and despair.

The death of those countless creatures along with the only emotion he had and understood made Qin Feng's attainment in dark magic reach a terrifying level, even without the guidance of anyone.

"Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!"

Thousands of small balls were shot down one after another in the narrow dark room. Nearing the end of the practice session, there was even a "crack" sound as Qin Feng disappeared in a flash to dodge the last siege of balls.

If John were still here, he would be dripping with cold sweat and immediately set up anti-apparition barriers for both entry and exit in this temporary hideout.

But who could have imagined that a mere five-year-old child could master so many advanced spells?

Qin Feng apparated to the side of the room, calmed down his violent breathing before he began to wave his wand and started to clean up the mess in the room.

"There is some improvement in charms and transfigurations; I might have been able to survive that last round without apparating." Qin Feng knew his own condition. Although his spirituality allowed him to master these advanced spells, his own magical prowess was limiting the spells' power.

If elite wizards put aside their surprises and observed the situation carefully, they would realize that the power of Qin Feng's spells was weaker by two grades compared to normal adult wizards.

Firstly, the wand was too old and broken, making it not easy to cast spells properly. Secondly, even though Qin Feng had undergone magical riots multiple times, it was more of a foundation accumulation. Currently, his maximum amount may only be on par with seventh-grade wizards.

Therefore, although the hidden room had been baptized by Qin Feng's magic daily, it was still at a negligible level.

This was also why even though John occasionally noticed something wrong in the hidden room, he still did not care...

'It was just kids messing around, probably just practicing a few curses.'

After tidying up the hidden room, Qin Feng put back his wand into his hidden armband and walked to the small door at the corner of the hidden room.
