54 CHAPTER 54: WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER

Following the successful launch of Legacy Café, the customer response was so positive that everyone was ecstatic.

Arianna looked forward to reading Leah's summary reports every night after she finished her daily missions. Arianna felt a sense of accomplishment after learning what others were saying about something she had worked hard to achieve.

Arianna did not accomplish anything noteworthy in her previous life. She made a living by writing, but she didn't have many fans who would miss her if something happened to her.

Arianna simply wrote to make money because it was more important than anything else. Even if she writes to the point where she has a large number of fans, there was no way in hell she could meet them.

She lacked the courage and the physical ability to do so. Arianna's life could be considered a waste, so she believes it is critical that she does something worthy of herself in this current one.

She wants to leave at least a mark in life because life was completely unpredictable, and death was cunning and didn't send an invitation letter to anyone.

Arianna considers it very worthy and fulfilling that something she started on a whim because she has the means to do is being appreciated and in such a positive way.

Arianna planned to live her life to the fullest and in every way possible. So, in addition to enjoying the fruits of her labor from her business, she was also having the time of her life with her current love life.

Arianna was swinging her small feet, humming a tune, as she looked at the laptop on the bed, where a video call was in the process of connecting.

To think that a day like this would come for her when she couldn't wait to talk to her beloved. It had been a while since her relationship with Maxim had stabilized, and while the two didn't video chat every day like hungry birds, they did exchange texts on a daily basis.

The two would talk briefly in the morning, but Maxim would be difficult to reach in the afternoon, which didn't bother her because she would be busy with classes and other things as well.

In the evenings, she not only had family business to attend to, but she also had homework and daily missions to complete, so she didn't have much time to talk to Maxim.

Arianna, on the other hand, had all the time in the world on a day like this, a weekend with no classes and all her daily missions completed early, to try her luck on a video call with Maxim.

There was another reason she was so relaxed on a day like this: her parents had left the duchy for some business seminar, which she had refused to attend.

Why should she hang out with the elderly when she could relax at home and live her life on her own terms? With all of her siblings living outside the family home, she was left alone at home with all of the remaining staff.

Leah was a busy person who was currently ensuring that nothing will go wrong when the second café opens in less than a week. Leah was the busiest person in the house, which wasn't so bad because the other person was being compensated for her services.

She was busy humming a tune and praying for Maxim to answer her video call when her prayers were finally answered and a beep sound was heard, causing her to come to a halt.

Her heart was pounding so quickly, not because she was afraid, but because she was so excited. It had been a long time since she had seen that face, and seeing the handsome face made her heart flutter so much that she wished she could just sit right in front of him, feasting her eyes.

"Are you going to keep staring at me like that without blinking?" the male voice asked lazily, jolting Arianna back to reality and making her face flush red with embarrassment.

"Umphhh, my apologies, hubby. I was just so distracted by your handsome face that I completely blacked out," Arianna replied shamelessly, having grown so bold since confessing her feelings to Maxim.

She realized that if you continue to keep things hidden inside, the only person who will suffer in the end will be you and no one else. She learned this lesson from the former Arianna, who, like an idiot, kept her feelings to herself, costing her life.

Maxim burst out laughing, causing Arianna to hear that deep voice she adores.

"Aren't we becoming more daring?"

Arianna cleared her throat and sat down on the bed, looking at the man who drives her insane every day with a lovely smile on her face, saying, "I am always bold when I am around you.  You can't hold it against me; I just miss you so much."

Arianna pouted as she aired her grievances, causing Maxim, who was sitting in his study, to raise the corners of his mouth.

"So, you're complaining? Ummm, I guess I'll have to make amends and make it up to you. So, how should I make amends to you, my dear?" Maxim asked as he sat back in his chair, gazing at his pretty girlfriend's face.

His life changed dramatically after he accepted the fact that a little spoiled girl from an unknown duchy had become his little girlfriend. Not only did he have to deal with the Kendalls' suspicious investigations, but he also had to deal with the little one's messages and phone calls on a daily basis.

It was annoying at first, but the more he accepted it, the more he found the whole situation exhilarating, and he now looked forward to that morning message, a greeting in the afternoon, and some sweet messages at night.

He had given up on love for a long time, but with Arianna by his side, he had the feeling that his perspective was slowly changing and he didn't hate the idea at all.

Arianna smiled happily when she heard what Maxim had asked her. How could she pass up such a rare opportunity when it just rolled over on its own without her asking?

Arianna, being astute as she is, did not waste any more chances and quickly racked her brains for what could truly heal her fragile heart, and when she found something, she decided to try her luck and see if she would truly score or not.

Maxim noticed a change in the little girl's expression and knew she was up to something crazy, and he couldn't wait to hear what Arianna came up with.

"Can I see you? I mean, if you're busy, I can come see you in the capital, but if you're free, you can stop by even if it's just for a few minutes..."
