CHAPTER 27: NEW SEMESTER

Arianna had woken up very early this particular day for her daily run and then ate a warm meal prepared by her duchess mother, which she had been looking forward to for a long time.

The mom had been a little free recently, so she had been spending some time with her, and since it was the first day of the new semester, she wanted to personally ensure that her daughter was safe.

Arianna, as a new student who had been granted the opportunity to go to school in a normal environment, was ecstatic and made certain that everything was in order; she didn't want anything to go awry.

This was a phase she had missed in her previous life because she was too preoccupied with earning a living, but she was committed to making the most of it now that she had chosen to live happily and normally.

Arianna was ushered to the waiting car with her mother in tow after breakfast. She wasn't going with Leah since she needed to take care of some business. She didn't want anything to jeopardize the cafes' progress.

Arianna smiled softly at her father, who was staring at her with those piercing eyes. Arianna solemnly promised, "I would not cause trouble and would be obedient in school," she didn't need to hide this from her family. She'd changed, and all she wanted now was to be happy and find the man she'd spend the rest of her life with.

"Um, I have faith in you. Just be safe, and if someone troubles you, don't hesitate to notify us," Paulo cautioned Arianna sincerely, as he didn't want anything bad to happen to his child.

They were all rattled up when she was in the hospital in a coma with no way of knowing when she would wake up, and he didn't want to go through that again.

"Then I'll see you when I get home from school," Arianna remarked as she ran up to her father and kissed him on the cheek.

She walked to the car after saying her goodbye to her father, and her mother followed her in. Paulo couldn't help but sigh with emotion as he watched the vehicles drive away. He sincerely hoped that his daughter would honor her word and cease bothering Lucas.

Arianna took a few seconds to glance at the mansion that was fading from her view before turning to face her mother, who was engrossed in a conversation about school. What to keep an eye out for and what to do if someone tries to bully her or something like that.

Arianna listened intently, nodding her head to show her mother that she was paying attention to every word, and the car had already pulled over to the side of the road by the time her mother was finished.

"We've arrived; don't forget to look after yourself, and the driver will be here to fetch you up when school is finished," a s she patted the nonexistent dust from Arianna's coat, Marylyn reminded her, "If there are friends you must meet after class, don't forget to make the call."

"Don't worry about me, mom; I'll follow your instructions," Arianna happily picked up her bag and kissed her mother on the cheek before exiting the car after a brief conversation with her mother. Arianna took a deep breath and gazed at the majestic plaque at the university's entrance gates.

She had looked at the photos on the school's forum on the internet and could tell right away that this was the best of the best. And now that she had a closer look at the school, she was even more enthralled.

Her bodyguards didn't have to accompany her everywhere, but she felt safer knowing they were there, and even when they weren't visible, the shadow guards were always around.

Since it was the first day, Arianna had no urge to rush to the hall where everyone would be gathered. She had arrived early to school in the hopes of being able to take in the scenery before being swamped by the books.

Arianna strolled around, taking in everything she could since she didn't want to miss out on anything. The university had several faculties, and Arianna was a member of the business faculty, which was the best on campus.

The faculty was a little out of the way, and because she was dropped off outside the university early in the morning, she had to rely on campus taxis to get her to her destination.

She called for one and settled into a comfortable seat while the driver safely navigated the paved road. She had more than thirty minutes until the start of the opening ceremony. While she was being chauffeured around, she was also taking shots of the surroundings for her V-account.

Because she was the only passenger in the taxi, she started chatting with the driver. She looked to be so famous that she deterred others from approaching her.

Arianna thanked the driver and exited the vehicle twenty minutes later. It was more refreshing for her to have seen so much and discovered some of the school's secrets from the driver.

She was overcome with emotion as soon as she came to a halt in front of the building. It felt great to be back at school; all she hoped was that the previous Arianna didn't make too many blunders because she didn't want to get into any conflicts.

When Arianna was discharged, she discovered she didn't have any true friends because she rarely saw anyone at home or heard from her family about visits. Even though her family kept things quiet, if she had any true friends, they would have done their hardest to contact her or called her once they heard she was healthy and well.

Arianna was at ease because she didn't have any friends to sit and hang out with, and she knew it would be problematic if any of them noticed how much she had changed. She didn't want to be alone for the next three years, so she planned to make friends, the more genuine the better.

Arianna was lost in thoughts as she stood still with her satchel on her back when she was jolted awake by a shadow passing over her. She frowned as she stared intently at the person standing directly in front of her. Even after searching through all of her memories, she had no idea who this person was.

"Who are you?" Arianna asked as she scrutinized the other girl, but the girl, to her surprise, did not respond, instead she took her time as she circled Arianna as if she were an item of merchandise for sale.

"You really have changed, I just wanted to see it for myself and now I am convinced," the other girl said while clicking her tongue.

Who the hell was this girl?
