1 Chapter 1: Broken Dreams

Somewhere in a forest near a large city, there lived a happy boy with Peculiar gifts among the other children. The boy was named Ryan Cunningham, who lived in a fine-looking house with his parents, Robert and Julie Cunningham. They used to be archeologists and so much more in the past but cast it aside when they gave birth to Ryan. They were happy with their ordinary life in the forest, beautiful scenery, peaceful aura, and a calm pond next to their house. They were content, anyone would be as long as they have their loved ones with them. Ryan was born different from the others, he was born with split-colored hair and eyes. His hair was the color of Black (Right side) and white (left side) while his eyes were brown (Right side) and amber (Left side). At first, his parents were troubled by his appearance and how his right eye is the only eye that he has that releases tears, but in the end, they were happy to give birth to him. Ryan is at the age of 11 at that time, but he can already remember that table of elements with ease even its properties and location. They raised him well, he dreamt to become a great Archeologist like his parents in the future, but alas... A happy family like this would often lead to the downfall of despair and tragedy, that was the world that Ryan lived in. One unexpected night, Ryan finished picking a basket full of lavender flowers from their flower field several meters away from their house, he wanted to surprise his mother since it was her birthday. It was nearly 7:30 pm at that time as he made his way back home but the moment he reached onto the doorknob, he could feel a sudden unnerving feeling inside their house, it was unlike he ever felt, the hair on his body started to perk up and felt what we call, Goosebumps. The loud creaking of the door could be heard as he slowly opened it, the light was on, as usual, maybe he was just overthinking things. He went towards the kitchen seeing that, that is where his mother usually is, preparing dinner. He held the basket of lavender tightly, skipping his way forwards until coming to a stop when he smelt a strong and unusual Metallic smell, like a corroding rusty metal, No... it was Blood. His nostrils couldn't take any more of the scent, so he grabbed a handful of Lavender and covered his nose with his palm that had lavenders in it. He nervously gazed over at the kitchen to see the white table mantle drenched in blood along with the walls what was splattered in the same red metallic substance. His legs started to shiver before dropping the basket of lavenders on the cold hard tiles as he stared at his mother lying on the floor, pale and lifeless, covered in deep scratches around her body with her eyes wide open. He cried in despair and anguish, holding the cold blood-covered palm of his mother with his warm hands. After a while he mustered his remaining energy and let go of his mother's hand, putting the basket of Lavender next to her before following the trail of blood that lead him through the door to the back of his house. He opened the back door to see that the trail ended outside, but there was nobody in sight. Mustering his courage, he stepped out of the house.

"Dad...? Where are you....? I'm scared..."

Ryan said with a low and frightened voice before out of the shadows in the dark side of the forest, the body of his father was thrown by something in the shadows and landed on the ground in front of him. His pupils shook heavily in shock to see the lower part of his body missing, his intestines were shown while he resisted his urge to puke. A loud growl was then heard before a large wolf appeared out of the shadows, blood dripping down from its sharp, ferocious teeth and fangs. Its Frightening pupils stared at Ryan's soul, paralyzing him in fear to the point where he couldn't even blink. It stopped a few inches away from him, leaning forwards with a terrifying growl. Tears fell from Ryan's right eye before the wolf froze and gazed over his split-colored eyes, its fierce pupils widened to the point it resembled a person's eyes. The wolf licked his tears away before standing with its own two feet, showing a muscular side of itself before howling under the light of the full moon

"Run...!"

The wolf snarled with a deep frightening voice before Ryan snapped out of his trance, falling on his back before picking himself up and running for his life into the forest.

"Run! Run!!!"

The large wolf had screamed those words with an itchy voice before howling once more and letting the boy run away. Ryan ran through the dark creepy forest, the normal life that he and his parents yearned for is now broken like a piece of glass, where is he going to go now? What will he do? This was the same question he asked himself in his current state. His legs refused to stop running despite him running out of breath, pushing through the sharp twigs that scratched and tore a piece of his clothing. A loud thunder was heard before it started to rain heavily. The cold water drops of the clouds ran through his face, washing his tears away as he refused to look back. A few minutes later a black car was passing down the road towards the city at an even speed.

"Ronald drive faster, I don't want to be late for the business proposal"

Said the elegant looking grown man, editing the business charts on his computer towards the male driver wearing a black suit and tie

"Yes, Master William. Should I also tell the other company that you will not be able to attend due to the proposal?"

The driver asked with a slight English accent

"I guess you should"

William finished editing his work before closing his laptop, pressing a button on the side of his car as a cup of shrimp cocktail appeared on the side.

"Unfortunately sir it appears that I should slow down, it started to rain pretty heavy"

Said Ronald before coming to a sudden stop, planting his foot immediately on the break before almost running over a lost boy

"What's wrong Ronald?!"

William asked in shock after what happened. The boy In front of him collapsed on the ground, Unconscious and breathing heavily

"Master William, stay here"

Ronald said before opening the car door on the driver seat and checking over to see who it was. It was Ryan. Ronald was shocked to the point his eyes widened from the sight of the unconscious boy.

"It can't be...!"

Ronald muttered in surprise as if he knew that this boy would appear before him already. William exited his car to see what happened.

"Ronald, who is this boy?"

William asked that made Ronald snap out of his trance.

"I don't know, Master William, shall we take him to the hospital?"

Ronald asked while William went quiet. Walking over to the unconscious boy, brushing his split-colored hair to the side before smiling softly.

"Ronald, cancel the business Proposal and tell them to move it next Monday... let's head back home"

William responded before carrying Ryan around his arms and gently placing him down on the backseat.

"Understood, Master William."

William sat on the passenger seat before Ronald started to drive on the road once more towards the City of New Orleans.
