Witnessing the match between Diane and Howzer is pretty much how it went down in the canon of the story I recall. Although Howzer would probably be happy that he got touched by a maiden.

But soon my attention turns towards Diane and Howzer fighting with Love♡Helm announcing the match in Diane's victory, "H… Howzer is down for the count! Matrona is the winner of the Semi-finals' first round!"
Being the concerned maiden that Diane is she grabs Howzer as he bleeds a bit on the head with some bruises apologizing for going too far, "A… are you all right? I got carried away and took it too seriously. Can you forgive me?"
But instead of being angry Howzer merely grinned identifying Diane much to her denial but didn't get past Howzer accepting his defeat, "I… I've been utterly defeated. To have one of The Seven Deadly Sins take me seriously… is a great honor. Haha… you not fooling anybody."
Crossing my arms I made a light comment that King nearby listened froze at my words in a neutral tone, "Well now, they're getting along just fine."
King took offense slamming the arena with his stubby arms blushing seeing her girl hold another man, "Diane! Get away from that man right now!"
Diane dropped the guy apologizing giving a cute wink making Howzer blush. She soon returns to give King a nice hug with Elizabeth nearby for Meliodas to grope to calm his nerves.
But that was when King soon spoke making me freeze in place as I realized one thing in this fighting festival, "So… you and the captain fighting it out there huh? I'll place a burial for you human."
Well… shit. Upon asking that question the love of irony had to rear its ugly head as Love♡Helm announces the next match, "Coming up next, round 2 of the semifinals is Meliodaf vs. Shitty Cook!"
Everyone from my group stared at me as I raised my hand immediately surrendering in a neutral tone, "I forfeit. I ain't gonna die today from the Bossman. Nope."
Hearing my response seemed to confuse Love♡Helm and the crowd in a shocked tone from the dead fairy, "Huh? Wait! Shitty Cook admitted defeat! That makes Meliodaf the winner of the second round of the Semi-finals!"
The crowd was disappointed as King patted my shoulder wisely nodding his head understanding my reasoning, "Wise choice my friend."
It's a wise choice indeed.

Rolling my eyes my stat increase upped my MP bar [1245/1260 MP]. But soon enough Love♡Helm announces the next round in an excited tone, "Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for! The final match of Vaizel's Fighting Festival!! This year we had an incredible line-up of fighters, and now we'll have the decisive battle to see who stands at the very top!!"
Before the crowd could get excited Diane said what was needed disappointing the crowd seeing Ban return with Hawk, "Nope I quit. I completely surrender."

Everyone was shocked by Meliodas winning and Diane suddenly said her words as Love♡Helm was baffled trying to stall for time, "B-but don't you want to see this who would win…? Or – "
Diane shook her head holding onto King much to the Fairy blush face could say with her cutely answering, "Nope. I feel tired and need my boyfriend's assistance. So can you just give the hammer to Meliodaf sir?"
Hahahaha!!! Love♡Helm was caught off guard not seeing this. Reluctantly he allowed us to go after the hammer.
We walked out with Diane finally reunited with her weapon. I forgot what abilities it had but let's see… [Observe].

Immediately I returned Diane to her normal form of a Giant with newly repaired clothes managing to grab her hammer as giant balls of fire condensed were launched towards the town of Vaizel.

One of them was coming after us with Meliodas swiftly redirected the ball of fire away from us using his skill-looking badass deflecting it away, "[Full Counter]!!"

Returning to the ground with Ban muttering at the appearance of the Holy Knights feeling the ominous power. Their… their mana just feels so wrong. Something foul I can easily recognize is shrouding them…
That was when Beatrice told me through my [Telepathy] in a disdain tone, 'They're contaminated Mana. Whatever is fueling in their body is granting them ominous powers. Be wary Mash.'
Thanks, Beatrice. I kept my eyes locked on the new members that arrived other than Guila seeing their levels and descriptions. They have certainly been leveling up. [Observe].

Ahh… the depressing team has arrived. Some of the sins commented that their armor was on par with their Sacred Treasure as Meliodas ordered me in a serious tone, "Mash… get Elizabeth and Hawk out of here. We can take it from here but we can't defend you while taking these New Generations on at the same time."
Gazing between the two groups and Helbram nowhere to be seen… might be for the best for this one. Besides that, I gazed at the necklace around Elizabeth's neck intently curtly agreeing. [Observe].

Agreeing I grabbed Elizabeth till a new voice entered the fray I could sense the four got serious slowly turning to see Helbram in his human form shocking King greatly in a shocked tone, "No… no way… how could…"
We all heard seeing King's reaction. And I don't blame the guy since one doesn't see literal Deadman walking in human form, Helbram takes on the form of Aldrich, the elderly knight he killed, he wears a set of copper-colored full-body armor, adorning it with a purple high-collar, cloak on top. He usually covers his face with a unique helmet that has hammerhead horns with a sky-blue crest on it. He has an eye patch that covers his left eye. He has a scruffy face with a beard.
Nope. The shit just got real.
I grabbed Elizabeth and Hawk explaining to them it was time to leave out of this situation quickly fleeing, "Nope! Following the Bossman's orders!"
Both Hawk and Elizabeth exclaimed in my sudden action, "Wah!"
And using [Unseen Hands] I ran away from that shitshow of a fight. The last thing I need to be is collateral damage in their brawl. Let's hope they can manage this one…

~Third POV~
Mash quickly fled the scene as Helbram ordered his Knights in a stern tone to go after them following his command, "Now that's just rude. But for ruining my planning and showing his cowardice in the Fighting Festival I'll have our students duke it out. Guila, Jericho, and Marmas. Go after and bring the Princess alive."
All 3 of them rushed after Mash as the Sins glared their eyes Meliodas soon rushed forward to intercept them, "Not while I'm here!! We'll be your – "

Before he could intervene, he was caused by Helbram's [Telekinesis] using his Magical power [Link] the power that allows him to take on the powers of others who ally themselves with him. As long as everyone remains allied with him, he can add multiple powers to his own.
Helbram having the power of all his men using [Link] to him soon created a barrier using [Cage] trapping himself with The Seven Deadly Sins in a cautious tone, "Sorry Bucko but not today. With my [Cage] active you'll be forced to watch as your students struggle against mine."
This caused all the focus to be drawn towards Helbram being extremely cautious for this drastic battle he took thinking to himself in a serious tone, 'It's a shame we won't get the piece we need from Meliodas. But if we manage to capture Elizabeth will have one of the objectives needed. And what can one shitty cook do against the Kingdom's New Generation? He may be skilled but against those 3 he screwed. Now I just must prolong this long enough for them to finish their task…'
