Heh. I have to say I'm very impressed with myself despite being the Boar Hat cook I leveled up from my encounter against the Weird Fang. They helped me level up twice.

And my training with Meliodas and Diane has certainly helped. Especially since my [Disguise] skill works on her changing into a human-size version staying with us inside the tavern.

It was a shock for everyone. But none more so than Diane realizing I helped achieve her dream of becoming small. To say she had a huge favor towards me is a major understatement.

Currently, we are heading towards Tala Village where the supposed rumors of locating the Capital of the Dead are located there or clues to them. We haven't seen any Holy Knight apprentices in our way like in the story.

Right… Elizabeth needed to stay for 3 days in canon to recover according to the story so because I interfered, I accelerated our process without needing to stay for that amount of time.

Meh. It probably doesn't matter or not. While Mama Hawk was walking towards Tala Village I was busy cleaning some items with Diane and Elizabeth both talking about girl-related stuff upstairs.

Leaving me with only Hawk lazing around and Ban staring at me with a curious glint as I asked what he wanted in a curious tone, "So…. Is there any reason you are staring at me? If you're interested in me then sorry, I like girls, not dudes. Hopefully, there would be one that would love your advances."

Ban unfazed laughed at my poor attempt wearing a grin plastered on his face talking to me having his shoulder on the table with his hand holding his face explained, "Hahaha… nah. I was just wondering what your purpose is. You know we're hardened criminals so why tag along?"

Ah… so reasons why I joined. I can understand that.

Shrugging my shoulders I replied in a casual tone cleaning up the cups and mugs, "Simple. One I don't mind helping but more for my benefit."

Ban nodded his head understanding as he explained his goal leaning back and explaining the reason he'll help us in a carefree tone, "I see… guess you and I are the same then. Doing this for the merits and rewards. I'm planning to get the Horn of Cernunnos located under the Kingdom of Liones' castle after saving the Kingdom. What do you want out of this?"

Pondering his question I thought for a bit before finally responding with a shrug finishing cleaning up in a neutral tone, "Hmm… possibly have a custom-made Sacred Treasure Weapon like you guys or their Magical Knowledge Grimoires. Or something else…"

Ban blinked at me a bit surprised not understanding his reaction as he shrugged his shoulders in a cheerful tone, "So basically you don't know what you want huh? From what I heard from the Cap'n and Diane you have some useful Magic. Hell, it was funny to hear those two almost got caught by that Holy Knight trick Ruin! Hahaha!!!"

I don't understand how I would talk to this guy. No rather how the heck do I talk to this kind of guy?

"WE'RE HEEEEEEERE!"

That was when Meliodas yelled out loud at the front catching everyone's attention with everyone reaching outside to see the Tala Village hearing Hawk coming out yelling at the Village state, "How on earth is this desolate little village the Capital of the Dead?!"

When we finally arrived at the desolate Tala Village Meliodas began to give us orders following them with a curt nod, "First we gather any information on King or the Capital of the Dead! According to the rumors, this is the closest place to it. You guys are also going to work you hear? I'm leaving you in charge of attracting patrons, Diane Waitress! And you'll cook up delicious meals, Chef Jailbreak!"

My eyes dart towards Ban as he meets mine. Rival…. before I was isekaied or lost in dimensions it had been my normal dream to be a cook in my world before I became a Multiverse Traveler.

Ban merely sent me the middle finger as I glared intently not losing my job position, "You won't take my spot –"

That was when my dreams of being a cook went down the drain as I got demoted freezing in place smiling happily destroying my short-lived dream, "Oh? And Mash I declare you assistant cook to Chef Jailbreak."

I depressingly agreed sighing with Ban puffing his chest out just to mock me. Slumping my shoulders I allowed and made a mental note of this now I ALLOWED Ban to steal my cooking position without a fuss. Yeah, without a fuss… sniff…

/////

Returning Diane to her original size I stood behind knowing full well I got my position back again when Ban ditched his job position making the world right again.

Elizabeth was cleaning the tables when she asked Bossman in a curious tone about King, "By the way, Meliodas-sama. What's King-sama like?"

Bossman leans back on the table with his back turned looking up with a smile he replies in a fond tone, "Let's see, how would I describe him… In a word, he's The Seven Deadly Sins' mascot. Like our pet."

I raised an eyebrow at calling a former Fairy King a pet Hawk soon asked snorting from his nose, "Excuse me? Did you just say pet?! A place that serves food has got no right to be keeping an animal!"

All 3 of us stared at the talking pig called Hawk making that claim in dead silence… noticing all of us even me staring at Hawk's innocent smile I asked Meliodas in a neutral tone, "Eh… Bossman, should I follow what he says?"

He looked at me with a neutral expression before nodding. Well then… I went ahead grabbing Hawk as he looked confused, "Huh?"

*BOOOOM*

Before I could proceed to take Hawk outside all of us stood frozen to the signs of battle going on as Meliodas gave me an order following his request holding a mug, "Mash stay in here. I and Diane will check the situation outside. You know what to do with bad customers alright?"

I curtly nodded as Bossman left with sounds of small rumbles from Diane checking out the situation knowing fully well of the situation unfolding. But I have no interest in visiting the Capital of the Dead.

Soon enough everyone returned the Bossman soon brought in two kids at Ban's request as I prepped some food for them. Then after everything calmed down the kids one named Ellen spoke the way to the Capital of the Dead.

Precious memories shared with the deceased will lead you to the Capital. That's the key condition needed to enter through the capital.

When they heard those words all of us headed outside. But I made sure to stay close behind the kids as everyone else took a closer look at the flowers but my eyes landed on King stalking us. [Observe].

[King (Fairy King Harlequin) Lv.? Grizzly's Sin of Sloth

Description: King is the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth of the Seven Deadly Sins, and the older brother of Elaine. His real name is Fairy King Harlequin and former protector of the Fairy King's Forest and the Fairy Realm. His Sacred Treasure is the Spirit Spear Chastiefol, which he uses in conjunction with his inherent power, Disaster. He is currently on a personal mission to kill Ban for murdering Elaine and searching for her in the Capital of the Dead.]

Poor King… however my attention soon shifts to the rose petals behind a crumbling building. Its time.

*Ssshhh*

The petals rose at once swirling around those guys as everything soon became a clearing again. The boy spirit named Luigi said in a shocked tone, "Ellen… did you see that?"

Ellen nodded her head in shock seeing my friends disappear as I remained calm, "Y-yeah. They just… disappeared. Mister –"

Before Ellen could respond I already turned my back towards the kids seeing Guila commenting witnessing the scene, "I see. So, the Capital of the Dead does exist. The Seven Deadly Sins just went to the Capital of the Dead. And you must be their cook that gave Cardinal Gilthunder trouble?"

Guila is a young female with a slim build and long black hair with bangs. Her eyes are very narrow, giving the impression to be always closed. Her first attire consisted of a single white one-piece with a small white coat, with long white high heel boots. She did not wear any armor other than her gloves and knee protectors. She also wore a pale pink headband on her head. [Observe].

[Guila Lv.30 Holy Knight

Description: Guila is the Holy Knight of Liones, the daughter of Holy Knight Dale, and the older sister of Zeal. Her power is [Explosion], and she also has access to the power of the Demon Clan by her association with the New Generation. She came when news of the Seven Deadly Sins could be heading towards The Capital City of the Dead to track and capture the criminals.]

Level 30 huh? The other Holy Knights from the Weird Fangs weren't that strong varying in levels but this time around I could enjoy a good sparing practice.

Guila eyeing me soon spoke out in a calm tone striding towards me in confidence asking me her question, "If you would be so kind… as to tell me the way into the Capital of the Dead. Or else I might use force if you don't comply…"

But to her surprise, I shrugged giving her the answer much to the kid's shock as I casually answered her question, "Easy. Precious memories shared with the deceased will lead you to the Capital. I can only guess one of them had precious memories to lead them inside from what I can tell."

Guila frowns hearing my words and the reactions of the kids readying her weapon looks like combat is unavoidable, "I'm afraid I don't quite understand. You could be lying for all I could know, and I could have the advantage over the Sins with you…"

*Shinng*

Taking out my weapon the Shadow Sword appears into my hand as Guila readies her rapier weapon giving the kid spirits the cue to leave with me grinning, "Cute. You kids better leave and leave this to me. And for you miss… That's under the assumption YOU could capture me. Those Weird Fangs lost because they underestimated me despite being Holy Knights so what makes you have a good chance against me?"

At this Guila smirked but remained cautious holding her rapier at the ready spoke in a confident tone, "Perhaps if I was an ordinary Holy Knight mister cook. But I'm the New Generation and I'm very powerful compared to the normal Holy Knights. You're not dealing with the ordinary Holy Knight anymore."

Good. At the very least these new-generation knights would make for a good fight… the kids left the area as we both eyed each other…

*WOOOSH*

*CLANG*

*BOOOOM*

My fight has finally begun.
