123 A New Mission!

Saksham heard how close he was to murder so many innocent people with just a light swing, and his jaw almost fell to the ground. If just a really light swing could do that, imagine him swinging this thing with his full strength. He shuddered as he imagined the horrifying scene in his head. He quickly held the Giant Axe carefully with both his hands. He almost killed his own family and a lot of people living around. Fortunately, the system warned him before he could even swing, or else…he didn't dare to imagine what would have happened.

Shaking his head, Saksham regained his composure and asked, "What is this weapon? What's its name?"

As the system heard this, it opened a pop-up window in front of Saksham's vision. Saksham's heartbeat grew quicker as he thought of one mind-blowing name for the axe after another. Names like "Axe of Mass destruction", "Adze of Lightning Deus", "Elevated One's Axe", and even "Celestial Fulgar Axe". Each one sounded more soul-stirring than the previous one. Each one just shouting out loud that the axe is not just for show. It WILL destroy you in seconds. That's how powerful it was. But as a window popped up in Saksham's vision, he almost had a stroke.

[Spoon: A giant Warhammer and Axe combined into one. It is an absolute monstrosity in a battlefield. Made from 2 of the heaviest materials to ever exist, it can smash an enemy's skull and cleave the earth into nothingness at the same time. It currently weighs about 10,000 KG.]

[Heavenly Tribulation: Call down a terrifying torrent of thunder and lightning from the sky and obliterate the enemy into nothing. Its range is currently 100 meters.]

[As Light as a Feather (passive skill): The person in contract with the weapon will feel none of Spoon's Weight. Except towards the owner, any use of the Axe will affect the external environment and people normally.]

[Overcharge: Calls forth a terrifying thunder from the heavens to fall on the owner, increasing the strength, and agility greatly for a short duration. Along with these, the following attacks of the wielder will contain a hint of thunder he absorbed. The overall increase will be directly proportional to the intensity of the thunder being withstood by the wielder which would later be absorbed.

(Caution: failure in being able to withstand the thunder can lead to severe injuries and even death)]

Without even bothering to read the abilities of the new weapon, Saksham closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath. He counted to 10 and then counted the numbers back. An eerie silence pertained through the room. After he was done counting the number, Saksham opened his mouth and asked his system with gritted teeth, "So…you are telling me that Giant Axe's name is…Spoon?"

"It is indeed." The System replied.

Saksham heard this and he felt as if he heard his heart cracking. He lay down on all four as he lamented about the complex world around him. He had fantasized how he would shout the name of the axe as he slams it down on the ground. That would have been so cool. But now? All he could think of now was the title of a "certain" video he saw on a "certain website". How was he ever going to tell the name of the Axe to anyone else? What would he say to his enemies? He was going to spoon them?

Only after a long while could Saksham finally accept the name of the Axe. But he still felt a little unwilling. So he opened his mouth and asked, "Can I chan-"

"No. You can't." The system interrupted.

"But at least let me complete the sentence. You don't even know what I was going to say." Saksham rolled his eyes.

"I was made by you in your consciousness. I can read everything going on there. Do you still think I don't know what you are thinking off?" The system asked back.

"But…the name sucks…" Saksham pouted.

"But it was the name given by the weaponsmith who made it. Once given, it cannot be changed. That is the unwritten rule." The system explained.

"Ahhh…," Saksham sighed, "Alright, fine. Let me just see its abilities now."

Saksham stood back up and slowly started reading the abilities one by one. Soon when he was done reading, he almost jumped up in excitement. The first ability was a super-strong ability. It was a really wide range damaging ability. And from the description, the thunder and lightning that would rain down from the heavens are not going to be weak either. He was pretty sure that he could control the intensity of the thunder and lightning that would fall, but the strongest intensity would wreak absolute havoc on a wide battlefield.

Though while thinking till here, Saksham sighed all of sudden.

"There is no world war or anything that's going to happen anytime soon. So don't think I will be able to test out these things on a big battlefield."

But what he didn't know was that this sigh was basically foreshadowing something big that would happen. Well, of course, he doesn't know, but I know. And now, you know it too. But hush! Keep it a secret. Don't want him to get all excited and jittery right now.

Saksham already knew the passive ability of the Axe but that didn't mean he wouldn't get excited about it. Just the sheer weight of the Giant Axe was monstrous. Although one could argue that a [Physical General] has the strength to lift the Giant Axe, but one also has to know that lifting it up and then using it efficiently are completely different matters. In fact [Physical General] could also exert the same amount of strength as the Weight of the Axe. But physics doesn't work that way exactly.

Let's take an example of someone punching a guy. Now, that person might lose a few teeth and even be unconscious. But now, what if a train hits the same person with the same strength and speed? You can already imagine a decapitated corpse in your head by now. Plus, the Axe side of the Giant Axe is extremely sharp. So sharp that it is hard to describe in just words. Every move made by Saksham will be amplified by numerous times. That's how strong and amazing this Giant Axe, aka Spoon, was.

And that's why Saksham was so excited about this new weapon of his. The second ability of the axe was a really good one for him too. But that just made him wonder about 1 thing. He mused a bit and asked, "This Axe was made out of the 2 heaviest materials in the world, right? But the 2 materials couldn't just be this …heavy. I mean, yeah, 10,000 Kg is a lot. But that's just the standard of earth people. From what I know and from what you have told, there have been so many strong races in this world. For them, this weight shouldn't have been much, right?"

"You are not wrong in thinking that. It is actually not that heavy. Your axe does indeed have the 2 heaviest materials in it but in a really small quantity. They were added 2 cm^3 each. And with just that amount, the Axe had been able to reach its current weight." The System answered.

Hearing this, Saksham was astonished but then he felt that it was not that shocking of a thing. Whatever those materials were, they are named "The Heaviest" material due to some obvious reasons. But what made Saksham wonder was that, if only such little amount made the Axe so heavy. What if, the whole axe was to be made entirely by those 2 materials? How heavy would the get be? Thinking about it made Saksham really excited.

As if knowing what Saksham would ask next, the system spoke first, "Yes, you can make the axe even better in the future. You just need to find the materials. You can use EP to do the work on the axe then."

Saksham heard this and nodded. He asked, "But where do these 2 materials can be found?"

"It is hard to gauge. Such materials are impossible to be found on this planet. These sorts of materials might be found in the eye of a nebula. Or maybe inside a million-year-old, dying star. Or maybe somewhere else. But it is almost imposs-"

Before System could continue, a ringing spread throughout the silent room. Saksham put a hand in his pocket and pulled out the phone he got from the system. Looking at the name on the caller ID, Saksham was a bit surprised. It was Avinash himself. Normally it is Sakshi who calls him but seeing that it was Avinash himself this time, Saksham knew there was something troublesome that might have popped up. He quickly picked up the call and said, "Hello?"

"Asura, it's me Avinash. How are you these days?" Avinash laughed as he answered.

"How serious are the things?" Saksham asked back.

Avinash's laugh stopped abruptly. Saksham heard an embarrassed cough from the other side of the phone and then Avinash's serious voice came, "A heavenly treasure has popped up in the middle east. It's called Black-gold Lotus. It is a treasure worth fighting over because it has the potential to strengthen weapons. According to the legends, this lotus can even strengthen a weapon and upgrade it to the legendary Tier III, birthing to a separate consciousness of the weapon. But that is only if it is used for 1 weapon."

"For the upcoming crises, we need ourselves armed and ready. Although we have the weapons, they are not strong enough to fight against those monsters. We need more powerful weapons. And that's why we need to secure it more than any other country."

Saksham heard this and suddenly his eyes lit up. A material to strengthen the weapon? Isn't that what he was looking for? But then he realized that the situation was trickier than he thought. He was basically a [Physical King] level Awakened. Although his powers if combined together, he can even take on more than 1 [Emperor] level enemy and still come on top of them. That's how powerful he was. But Avinash still called him especially asking for help. And Avinash's next words confirmed his doubts.

"But there is a problem here. There is a barrier set up by the same Black-gold Lotus. It is a semi-conscious heavenly treasure. And If any person stronger than the [King] level enters the barrier, the Black-Gold Lotus will destroy itself. This is why every country that wants to try and get their hands on it, is sending their strongest [King] Level Awakened. Sadly, our hands are full and that's why we hardly have any really strong [King] Level Awakened that is free."

"Though, even if we did have, I would still call you for this mission. You are the strongest [King] Level Awakened in our country at the very least. Your growth potential is unknown which is terrifying as well as your abilities and strength is something to be feared even by the [Emperor] level Awakened and Unusuals. And this is the reason I have called you today. We need your help. We need your strength."

After Avinash was done speaking, a silence fell upon both sides of the phone. Avinash was waiting for Saksham's response while Saksham was considering everything about this mission Avinash told him about. From what he could see, the Black-Gold Lotus was an extremely important Heavenly Treasure for all the countries. India is definitely also in need of that to make stronger weapons for the future preparation against the [Terramons].

But at the same time, he also needed that Black-Gold Lotus to strengthen his own weapon as well. His mutated 6th sense has been tingling more and more as the days passed. Whenever he felt that his growth had been really amazing and he was really powerful now, that tingling sensation that ran down his spine, poured cold water on his head. It made him understand that he was still not powerful enough. He needed even more power. This is still not enough. And that's why he needed everything that could help increase his strength even if it was something small.

He wanted to use the Black-Gold Lotus for himself so that his Spoon could be strengthened. The strengthened Spoon would be even more powerful than what it is right now. Saksham couldn't wait to see it, but knowing that there is only one of Black-Gold Lotus, he didn't know what to do about it. He wanted it for himself but Avinash needed it for the country. Just as Saksham was feeling torn about this, he heard the system's voice in his head.

"You should probably accept this mission. Even if you cannot get the Black-Gold Lotus, you can maybe get another Heavenly treasure around it. In fact, a treasure like Black-Gold Lotus never grows alone. So you might be lucky enough to get that thing too."

Saksham heard this and he immediately made up his mind. He controlled his voice to become hoarse and heavy and said, "Alright, I will accept this mission. But when should we leave? And will I be working alone in this mission? Because I do prefer doing things alone."

"From all the data that we have collected, the barrier around the Black-gold lotus seems to fluctuate from time to time. When it is at its weakest, all the countries that have gathered there will be sending their people in. That's also when you go in. And that time is about a week later. So we have 7 days to prepare."

"As for you going alone, I am afraid I will have to disappoint you on that. I would definitely like you to do it alone, but the goal of this mission is too important for us and that's why we will be sending a few more for support. Hope you don't mind them. They are not weak. They will be able to hold their own weight there. You don't have to worry about them. All of your mission will be to secure that Black-gold Lotus and then come back."

"Though you have to be really careful about the people from America, China as well as England. They are still not happy with the fact that you killed so many of their people including [Emperor] Level Awakened. Although I am also pretty sure they will not be able to do anything to you either. But being cautious is never a bad thing too." Avinash said.

"Tch. More people? Let's hope they don't become a dead weight on me. And 1 week? Alright, more than enough for me." Saksham said, accepting the mission.

"Alright then, I will contact you in a few days. You will once again be assigned as Temporary Assistant Head of Disciplinary Committee. The last time you had this title, things went a bit too…ballistic. Let's try keeping that down a bit this time. Although if some things arise, you know what to do. For the right cause, IOEA has your back no matter what. So don't be afraid about anything either." Avinash said in a serious tone.

Saksham heard this and he could feel Avinash's sincerity and seriousness when he said "IOEA got your back". This sentence warmed Saksham's heart a bit. He nodded and said, "Alright, I will see you in a few days."

With that, Saksham hung up the phone and took a deep breath. He had a hunch that he would be able to test his newly found strength really soon.
