The moment he let out a shocked voice, flame had already pierced the crown of his head, and burst into flame pillar.

Then I caught Shar falling down as I tried to adjust my breathing.

I couldn't move anymore since my body was already in tattered state.

They're strong. Properly speaking, they're a bit stronger in one on one. The reason why I could won agaisnt both of them at the

same time was simply coincidence piled upon another coincidence.

「But, a win is a win!」

I shouted while carried Shar in princess carry. 

And then, I mustered the last power of my imitation to create wings on my back, and jumped off from the cliff.

Amidst my vague consciousness, I slowly realized that I left that nightmarish North Grand.

「We did it…」

I've protected Shar this time.

「We did it, Shar!!」

I spoke to her whom I carried in my embrace but,

I ended up speechless. Shar's face was as pale as snow, her lips had already turned white.

「Gil, maybe I… Can't leave North Grand.」

Can't leave North Grand? Like hell there was such crap!

「I know about this the moment we leave North Grand. I, might not be able to live outside of North Grand.」

「LIES! SHAR, PLEASE DON'T JOKE AROUND AT TIME LIKE THIS!」

Despite what I said, I knew that her rapidly dwindling life force was the evidence of her remark just now.

「DAMMIT!」

I hugged her and invoked my imitation ability to get back to North Grand again but I failed to invoke my ability.That was a

natural result I guess, my power had already been used up in the previous battle.

「That's enough, Gil.」

Shar hug me like usual and,

「Hang in there, Shar.」

The exhaustion had finally taken my strength as I tried to encourage her.

「Shar!? SHAR!? WAKE UP!?」

I shook her body that had already lost its' warmth. Alas, how many times I had seen it now? I knew that she had already died.

「Shar…」

I cried as I hug Shar's corpse.

After I continued crying for a long time, I returned to Ket Nya with Shar's corpse.



That place naturally had already been ravaged by Aldebaran. It was completely ravaged, and burned down to the ground

along with its citizens.

「We're back, Shar.」

I placed Shar's corpse under the huge tree that growing beside the city.

「Sorry for leaving you in this place but, I have to go.」

I clasped the flame and ran toward the proper place to die.

The monster in the city had already been slaughtered till no one left.

Along the way, I saw the corpse of headless Crocodas hung on top of Tama, he might be trying to protect her.

Crocodas had always said mean remarks to the tribe he regarded as weak. And yet, he ended up dying while protecting a

sheep cat, the weak tribe. Different from me who abandoned everyone, he tried to protect everyone.

「Thank you. I will avenge all of you.」

I felt disgusted by my own words.

After that, I kept killing every single demon I met along the way, and finally facing Aldebaran.

「Not bad――」

「Cut the crap and let's fight to death.」

I told him so as I grab the hilt of flame, facing against a battle that I couldn't win no matter what.

「What are you laughing for?」

Hearing Aldebaran asked that question as he lift me up by my throat,

「Take a guess, not that you will understand even if I tell you.」

I loaded every last bit of my magical power into the magic tool in my right hand――[Flame Snake of Gluttony]. Not even

Aldebaran could survive this attack from point blank range.

My field of view dyed in blood red colour, then my consciousness burst open like a bubble
