Direct Appeal to The Strongest Existence

Three days later, I walked around the main street of the completed Ket Nya, looking for a certain person.

But then, as his old acquaintance, I knew him the most. I knew what he would do at this kind of time.

When I suddenly turned around, the freckled youth with his black forelocks grew until it covered his eyes and pair of wings

grew from his back was looking at me with the red haired girl called Rami.

「!?」

When the freckled youth tried to hide behind other people,

「Yo, Tetle.」

I raised my right hand and greeted him.

The freckled youth, Tetle's body stiffened as if something had just bound his body.

I knew that Tetle was strolling in this city right before the Demon King army's raid. There was high possibility that Tetle was

related to Kai Heineman. Failing to persuade Tetle means that I would fail to meet Kai Heineman too, meaning that this round

would become another failure.

「You remember everything?」

Maybe because he was still raising his guard against me. He tried to ask a question that he already knew the answer.

「Yup. Just a while ago.」

「So, what's your business with me?」

I went down on my knees, prostrating before him.

「Sorry for everything that I did to you so far!」 

「Y-Your Highness?」

In response to Tetle, who asked with trembled voice, I kept pressing my head on the ground,

「I know that you won't forgive me with just simple apology. I knew it's also my fault since I kept betraying you so many times.

But, I had no choice but to face my sin for me to truly take a new step forward instead of being blinded by ghosts of my

past.」

I squeezed my voice since I knew that I deserved this.

After a brief silence,

「If it's you from before, other races aside, you even look down on another human. Even I who has been with you for a long

time know that you won't change that easily, and I doubt that you can really change your mind.」

Just as I had expected, Tetle refused to accept my apology. Well, that was only natural after everything he went through

because of my idiotic past self.

「I will do this as many times as I need to get you to forgive me. But I agree with you, I haven't changed, I'm still the useless

and coward person as before. But, even someone like me have found something that I want to protect even if it mean that I

have to die! This is the truth!」

「Unbelieveable! You, who did everything to become a king, including humiliating me, actually want to protect these

monsters!? Don't screw with me, they're the enemy of humans! And you ask me to believe that crap!」

Tetle spoke quickly and yet, strangely enough, I didn't feel angry at all.

『The newcomer over there, stop spewing that kind of nonsense!』

The aunty butcher of the orc tribe came out from her store with butchering knife in her right hand, shouting at Tetle with

extremely threatening attitude.

『That's right! Gil-san is the one who taught us to build this wonderful city! Don't you dare to say bad thing about GIl-san

when you know nothing about him!』

As if they had planned it before, Gobuza and the other monsters came forward to speak for me.

「…」

Tetle was looking at that spectacle with dumbfounded face, and suddenly covered his face with his hand as he raised a

laugh. Then――

「Monster aside, you who look down on your own people, the human as nothing more than livestock, have actually been

trusted so much by the monster, the enemy of the human race. What kind of bad joke is this?」

His laugh become smaller and smaller before it turned into a mere sigh.

「Yes. Take it as a joke if you may. Even I have never expected this situation. But now, I feel even better than before I lost my

memories.」

「In short… You find the place where you belong, right…」

Tetle muttered in lonesome, he looked around at the monsters around us who bared their hostility before he heaved a deep

sigh and then,

「What do you want?」

He asked me with bone chilling voice. Great, it seems I managed to bring the matter of request to the negotiation table.

「I want to have an audience with Kai Heineman-sama.」

I'm literally making a plea. And the reason why I'm using honorific was by no means to make it easier for me to be granted

with an audience. It just naturally came out from my mouth as if it was the most natural thing to say.

「Good grief, look at how much you've changed…」

Said Tetle in his own soliloquy while looking at me with rather exaperated face.

「I know that personage is watching the entire situation on the other side of acid lake. But, I can't reach that place with my

current power!」

「Of course you are. The one who protects that place is the otherworldly being who serves Shifu. But, how does Your Highness

managed to find his whereabout?」

Seeing Tetle squinting his eyes as he asked me, maybe he still had some doubt about me,

「Precognition. You've already heard about my power, right?」

I tried to use it to bait him instead. That personage gave me this trial and literally foresee it in person. SInce that was the case,

He should've already known about my current situation too.

Come to think of it, Ruu-san had also gave me a hint in how to clear this trial, maybe he was also someone from That

Personage's side, sent to help me.

「Surely, that explains the situation. Now that I think about it, this trial is obviously impossible to be cleared by Your Highness

and co. Shifu must've noticed this fact too. If that's the case, is Shifu has actually sent me to this place for this very reason? So

the progress of the trial after this will be up to me huh…」

Rami asked Tetle but,

「Your Highness, your last judgement will start in a while. Gather every chief of this city in front of the plaza.」

And told me so with seious look on his face.

Last judgement, is it? Meaning that the next thing to do was to persuade That Personage. He was someone who followed his

own rule to a T. The citizens of this city aside, failing to persuade him means that not only would this ideal monster city be

destroyed, I would also lose my life.

Rami tried to ask for explanation with bloodshot eyes, alas, Tetle's figure had already vanished like a smoke, as if he had

never been there before.

I was quite sure that she was people send by Kai Heineman too but, it seems my guess was wrong.

Many of her remarks sounds like an utter nonsense to me. If my guess was right, she wasn't a monster. And I had pretty much

realized that she knew more about this trial than the rest of us. That's why――

「We're about to meet That Personage soon. Will you come too?」

「That Personage? Who are you referring to?」

Since Rami frowned as she asked that question, she was obviously had no idea at all. In short, this girl was completely

unrelated to this trial.

Hearing the sneer in her tone, I knew that Rami didn't take my warning in heart. Well, she would understand as soon as she

meets him though. Only now did I asked myself, how in the hell did I had such audicity to act so disrespectful to That

Personage in the past.

I urged Rami to follow.
