Raven was surprised. She didn't know that there would be others to whom the Monk did this.

"Then you are the same as me? Did he also do the same thing to you then?", she asked.

"Yes. It was the same process. He gave us the possibility to become Shinigami and continue our work.

Because unlike you, we three were already working in the Gotei 13 before we died."

Píng'ān continued to explain some things to Raven. They arrived at a hotel that belonged to the Gotei 13. It was quite a successful hotel and Ichibe had acquired it through means of extortion.

The owner was involved in some very nasty business and the third division used that to get money and real estate out of him.

And then the owner disappeared.... somehow.

The second division was very thorough, they made it look like the Hand had their hands in this, as well as Wilson Grant Fisk.

The authorities bought it right away, and SHIELD did too after some investigation.

Píng'ān led Raven into a private conference room that was meant for the highest board. All personnel that knew of the business of the late owner had been replaced with members of the sixth division.

It was going very well, and the integration of the people into America was going well too.

In the conference room, two other people were sitting at a big table already. When Raven and Píng'ān entered, they stood up and approached both of them.

"Guys, this is Raven. She is thinking about whether she will take the offer of the Head Captain or not.

Raven these are the other two captains of the Gotei 13 right now. Yán Yǎ, second division captain and Lè Yáng, sixth division captain."

The man and the woman shook Raven's hand.

"Nice to meet you, Raven, I'm Yán Yǎ. Second division captain."

"Yes, nice to meet you too."

Yán Ya had a smile on her face when she shook Raven's hand, but she was very professional. Raven was in a similar business as Yan Ya, she assumed so she recognized someone like her.

"And I am Lè Yáng, captain of the sixth division. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

Lè Yang was quite stoic. He might be captain of the sixth division, but he is still a trained Shinigami no less.

"So what am I doing here?", Raven asked. Píng'ān answered her.

"You see Raven, Ichibe told us about you and what you did and your circumstances and all that stuff. So we are here to tell you about the Gotei 13.

We will talk about where we operate, what we do normally, where our loyalties lie and what our procedures are.

If you want, and if the Head Captain comes later, we can also show you our bases of operations and some more members."

"And if you at one point decide that you don't want to join, you can tell us and we will get you back to your friend in no time.", Yán Ya added.

Píng'ān started to explain how their group operated and what it stood for.

"You see, when we started, we were just a small group. I was present when the Head Captain 'cleaned' our gang and walked into the headquarters with no weapons. He offered our late leader a choice. He either submitted and operated under his rules or he died.

As is custom with people that have power, they want to keep that power. So he got killed. All members got the same choice that day, but not many chose to submit under the Head Captain.

All those that didn't submit, got killed. Their heads just fell off.

The Head Captain promoted me, as the new leader, despite my protests and assurance that I had no idea on how to lead anything. His only explanation was, that I was the right person for the job.

Now I know that he saw something in me. In all of us captains. We don't know what it is to this day. (I'm sure the readers know)

That was in the year 1980. And since then we have gotten a lot bigger. Our influence has spread wide and we have accomplished a lot for an organisation this young.

You know the basics of how we operate, but in general, we strive for the betterment of human lives. And we do that by almost entirely removing crime from the lands we control. By creating jobs and giving out housing and good health care.

We make sure that poverty is as low as possible, by making everyone work something in the community. We also have an advanced education system for those that live in our region. It's free and the teachers are working for the state, or more like the organisation.

Thanks to my division, we use the dirt of politicians to make them play by our rules. Therefore we change corrupt politicians with our own and have them look out for us.

There are many more things that you will come to know over time.

Another thing that is important to note is that over 90% of the population of our area of influence, doesn't know about us. We keep it that way, to make everyone have free will and decide on what to do and not fear repercussions.

Everyone has the choice of moving away from our areas and if they want to continue their criminal careers, they may do so somewhere else.

Those that have special talents or have no talents, may decide to join the Gotei 13.

There is a special academy to teach those the things that they need to survive in this line of business.

This includes martial arts, physical training, knowledge about the history and the current enemies the Gotei 13 might face and more. There is a mandatory Zanjutsu class. It's necessary because should you climb in ranks, you will eventually have the possibility to become a Shinigami.

That however is the choice of the Head Captain and only he can make you one. For now, he has decided to only make those that die into Shinigami.

Those are the most important information that you must know to make a decision."

I wanted to give the Gotei 13 some depth and showcase to the readers what has been accomplished up to this point.

All the 'betterment of humanity'- thing might be cliché but I rather enjoy the thought of it.

Please tell me ideas for tasks the other divisions could have in the future.

- division 11: this will be similar to bleach, a full frontal fighting force

- division 1: This is technically Ichibe's division

- a defence division that is solely tasked with the protection of various facilities and areas
