Earthly Life

"Ugh."

A teen seemingly around his 16s grunted and slowly lifted his blanket, clearly not wanting to leave his comfy warm bed.

As he lifted the blanket, a light-brown body revealed itself from beneath.

His looks were slightly above average. Not the best nor the worst. His fluffy and wavy brown hair gave him a peaceful look when paired with his golden-like eyes, unusual in his world.

After he got up, he headed towards the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth.

After the cleansing session, he quickly went to his gardrobe and picked a pair of clean clothes, sprayed some deodorant, a sprinkle of perfume to his neck and wrists. He then crossed the corridor, entered the kitchen and made a quick breakfast.

After finishing the breakfast and cleaning, he left the apartment and walked to the bus stop, waiting for the bus to arrive.

He didn't have the spare money to pay for school bus since he lived by himself and was simply not financially able to. He was an orphan with absolutely no relatives, just a random kid who grew up in the orpahanages built by the government.

He was supposed to live by himself after he turned 18 but he instead escaped the orpahange because of the boring and gloomy environment, it was too much for his young brain and mentally wore him out greatly. So he began living by himself 2 years earlier than originally planned.

Much like every teenager, he was a simple kid. He didn't like school that much and sneaked out of classes time to time, playing outside, going to internet cafes, maybe committing some not-so-healthy activites too but he always keenly kept and eye on it so he wouldn't go overboard by giving into the peer pressure.

He also had a seperate hobby of reading comics and novels which he was really into.

Now hear me out, the guy is not exactly your usual protagonist. He is, but atleast he has a normal life going on for him. Although he would've liked a pair of parents and some siblings complemented with a decent social life, unfortunately a certain someone was too lazy to help with that so here we are.

[It would've been pretty neat if this world had some magical stuff going on.] he thought to himself.

Caused by his boring daily life, the teen had an obsession towards the unusual. 'Unusual' being 'supernatural' in this case. Earthly stuff never caught his interest. Expensive jewelery, money, partying or clubs... All of it seemed temporary joys to him.

On the other hand, spiritual stuff amazed him throughly. Be it magic, mythology, legends of the past. It was all absolutely fascinating to him.

Don't get it mistaken, our boy is not a chuunii brat. He just thinks that it wouldn't be so bad to just casually fly out of your house and destroy some of the neighboring galaxies. Just enjoying the view, nothing violent nor harmful.

The bus pulled over the to the bus-stop as the teen waved his hand. He was the first to board on the bus every morning. It was litteraly 6 in the morning and freezing outside, no teen should be put through this kind of torture.

After pressing his card onto the scanner he then swiftly took a step towards the other end of the bus as the seats in the backrow were more comfy and silent.

"Goodmorning to you aswell, Ata." the bus driver interrupted, his voice deep and brute from his decades of smoking.

Ata answered, "Right, Goodmorning old man."

They both knew each other as Ata always took this bus to start his day, he was the first one to board too. This led to him and the old man somewhat becoming acquainted with each other. Exchanging greetings and several conversations every morning.

"I told you to not call me that, anyway. You look like you've got quite alot in your mind."

"Nothing much, just a little bit of teen fantasy."

"You mean the fairy stuff?"

"Something like that."

"Heh." the old man chuckled. He then continued, "It would've been a nice world for sure. Atleast someone could have healed this decaying body of mine."

He didn't answer the old man's question and fell in thought, [It sure would have been nice.]

Ata really didn't have any serious issues going on for him to wish for some miracle to happen, the boredom of his current life was just too much and he somehow wished for all of it to dissappear.

This thought of his may be called selfish or even childish but come on, every single one of you would never say no if an opportunity to live in a world like that came in front of you.

For the rest of the bus ride, he just stared at the trees and the cars outside and munched on the leftovers from his breakfast.
