1 Ceasefire

For the last two years, my life had not been my own. Every minute, every second, every holiday has been anxious for me, Ever since i turned 18, I knew i had to graduate with the highest marks, I had to prove everyone that Im Aria Edgar, the daughter of the famous professor in town, I always wanted to be a Lawyer , but ever since my mom died my dad got depressed and retired from his job because of his drinking habits, i had to go through many hardships in life.

But Liam Rhodes my competitor and my classmate is a step ahead of me, everybody's praising him his dad was the richest man in town ,since he was the Popular one everyone likes him and im certainly jealous.

Liam is Tall, handsome, rich, smart and an hardworking student and a bit annoying because he thinks he is better than me , i knew i had to prove him wrong that i'm better than him. It was finally the day i have been waiting so long for, it was my finals

Liam approached,

Liam : Hey Aria, I hope you do better in exams and i know we both will graduate with the highest marks, He winked!

I was kinda confused because he is always so annoying and cold hearted , after completing the exams I was really tired but i realized Liam was no where to be found, i thought to myself why do i even care? he must be mingling with some girls.. JUST ANOTHER PLAYBOY!!

*Later at home*

Dad :

Aria, How was the exam , I hope you did well, and what about Liam?

I instantly replied, the exam was good and about liam I DONT KNOW! AND I DONT CARE!!!

Dad: You shouldn't be taking like that and liam is your best friend ,is this how to talk to your dad?

I STORMED INTO MY ROOM!!!

I laid in my bed and was so angry at my Dad because he always took Liam's side because his dad and my dad are best friends somehow, but i dont know what to do, i only have my dad left with me and i knew i had to listen to him,

*FEW HOURS LATER*

Dad came into my room and apologized for what he did and told me that he loved me so much

and i replied, I love you too dad and apologized for my behaviour,

Dad: Remember Sebastien ?

I replied: Duh Liam's Dad

Dad: Sebastien and I are best friends and are really close, but i dont get why your so angry with liam. is it because he is intelligent than you? is it because he scores more marks than you?is it because he is living an better life than you?

I mean obviously i replied, Yes!, but he gave me a disappointing look and he was really upset

i bursted in tears, dad hugged me and courteously told me that i should appreciate and be grateful for who i am and he is always happy for who i am and he told me that Liam's dad has been helping him with all the financial problem so we must be grateful for them too, just then

he told me:

WHY DONT YOU HAVE A FACE TO FACE CONVERSATION AND HAVE A NICE TALK WITH LIAM? Like a date?

My expressions completely changed and I knew my dad always wanted me and Liam to be together, i always knew that he wanted liam to be his son- in -law,but he doesn't know how annoying liam is and his character,i got up and l stormed out of the house immediately and i never wanted to forgive dad again

It was 3 am , the door was unlocked i rushed to my room and slept because i had completely forgotten that i had an interview for an magazine photoshoot, i woke up next morning got ready

Dad: Hey honey, why are you up so early?

Seriously, i have an interview in like 30 MINSS!!

Dad: should i drive you there?

its fine, im not a child anymore, i realized he was upset and had to give him a hug and left immediately, I completed the interview got back home and was watching my favourite Tv show and i received a call from the manager,

I was definitely pissed and did not care at all because duh i'm Aria Edgar, just then dad came from his office, he had something in his hands

I mean he is a bit rich now but he hasn't surprised me with anything since 2 years, hummm i thought to my self what could it be?

Dad: Here, these are for you!

But it isn't my birthday? why are you giving me this

Dad: Silly, Tomorrow is your big day!

Dad: Graduation!!

Right!! yep i totally forgot about it, but what is this?

Dad: stop asking me and unwrap it!

okay, i unwrapped it and it was an beautiful rose gold gown with 90's design on it! i was in love with it because marilyn monroe was my biggest role model

dad: i will be there for your ceremony tomorrow i promise!

but y-you have work tomorrow dont you?

Dad: yeah but i could spare some time for my daughters big day can't i?

*NEXT DAY*

I woke up with an big smile put on the gown and headed down stairs ate breakfast and waited until dad returns but he didn't, he left a note saying he will be there on time

so i went to the event , i spotted Liam but i didn't even care talk to him, he came closer to me and does the same thing he usually does he teased me and said

YOU LOOK AWFULLY BEAUTIFUL!

was that a compliment i thought to my self?uhhh may-b

MY NAME WAS ANNOUNCED!!

I went on the stage i was about to cry lets just say i got emotional but when i walked over i tripped down the stairs but surprisingly Liam caught me in right time, i am thankful for that or else i would have ended up breaking my back or leg, phew nothing happened and umm it was awkward between us we had eye contact with each other for the first time he winked at me again i don't know but i felt something in my stomach, what was i thinking I am being ridiculous

Everyone was invited for a dance, but I didn't have a partner duh i was a loner, i stood aside of the hall i felt a tap in my shoulder i turned back and saw Laura my childhood bestfriend she was drunk and she hugged me and gave me a cup of drink but i refused because i dont drink she had a dancing partner, I sighed but suddenly Liam pulled me close to him and whispered

"SHALL WE DANCE", He asked me

I was shocked and i replied, Uh-uhhh yea sure, we continued to dance, but for the first time he mentioned your eyes are really beautiful, i was really shy i replied, Thankyou!! we continued to slow dance and then he was upset, i asked him why he looked sad he apologized for being rude to me and told me that he will be leaving California forever and he wont get to tease me again, it was because he had to handle his dads business as an CEO.

I was really sad, i didn't know what to do even though we weren't that close i felt bad for him i felt something inside me i didn't know how to express, we finally said goodbye to each other and he left by giving me a last hug.

Then i looked for my dad everywhere but he was nowhere to be found i thought he wouldn't come i tried calling him, texting him but something isn't right!!!i couldn't find him i asked many of my friends to find him but no response i started getting scared.

*AN UNEXPECTED CALL TOOK PLACE*
