1 Prologue

The world of Altera was a magical world where the sentient races lived in harmony and prospered. But the north of the continent was not so peaceful for that was where the Monster Realm was located. It was a place full of monsters and demons who regularly raided the rest of the continent killing everything they could and corrupting everything else. After the Great War when the Demon King was defeated and the monster horde scattered a massive fortress was built in the valley of Alzoth and a big army was garrisoned there in order to stop any future invasion.

After several hundred years the fear of the Demon King vanished from peoples minds and the fortress fell into disrepair while the army was reduced to a mere shadow of its former self.

Alec was a young knight with dreams of glory and honor and it was those ambitions that led him to assault a noble in order to protect a woman from being kidnapped, unfortunately this led to him being demoted and relocated to the Alzoth fortress, a place now considered a dead end job due to the fact that nothing ever happens there.

A few weeks after Alec arrived he was already respected by most of the people there including his direct superior Captain Benjar, a veteran war hero who ended here after being conspired against by the very people that he fought to protect.

It was on a usual night when Alec and Captain Benjar were drinking together that the alarms sounded throughout the fortress. When the duo got out they found out that a massive army was approaching from the north.

The Demon King was launching another war against civilization and they were unprepared and understaffed to stop it. Their only hope were reinforcements from the royal capital so Captain Benjar decided to send his most trusted man on this mission and that man was Alec.

Alec swore to return with reinforcements as soon as possible and then he ran towards the stables in order to procure a horse. By the time he left the fortress they were almost completely surrounded but he managed to rush in the forest though not without being hit by a stray arrow unfortunately he did not have time to stop and he could only grind his teeth and go forward.
