The Guild

<After requesting a small shuttle and paying a small fee I was finally on my way to the station.>

<The shuttle itself was pretty comfortable and it had big screens from which I could see outside.>

The station was very big and composed of a big and long central part as well as two smaller ones on its side and a big circular part going around it.They were all connected by metal tubes of various sizes.

<I guess that's how they travel between the big parts without having to fly.>

<I left Arfa in charge of refueling, repairing the ship and buying water because the station authorities offered those services, but I would have to find someone else to repair the Mech. I also have to go to the guild to finish the mission and maybe take another one. And of course... I also have to go sightseeing, I am on a REAL space station.>

While he was thinking about his goals, the shuttle docked and the doors opened.The first thing he saw was how crowded it was. There were people moving everywhere but most seemed to go in the same direction. They looked mostly normal but some of them had colored hair, eyes and he even saw someone with greenish skin. As for clothes, most of them wore similar suits like him.

<That's a relief, I was afraid I was gonna stand out.>

Moving in the direction most people were, he soon reached a big tram station. This was where he could board a tram to quickly travel around the station.

<The Guild is in the business sector... so which tram should I take?>

Looking around he couldn't see any maps so he decided to ask someone.

"Excuse me, I'm new around here. How can I check where each tram goes?"

"You haven't used a tram before?"

"I am afraid not."

"Hmm... If you have a PDA you can just connect to the station net and check there, if you don't there should be a terminal nearby with a map."

"Thank you."

"No problem kid."

Moving out of the way, Shutra took out his PDA and did as the man said.He could now see a complete map of the station as well as a list of all shops on it.

<Nice! Things should be easier to find with this.>

After he boarded the tram he spent the time by checking Mech repair shops on the net. It seemed that there were only 3 on the entire station. One was very popular and had reasonable prices but it would take them a long time to repair his Mech. Another shop could repair it fairly fast but the prices were astronomical. The third shop was cheap and fast but it looked shady.

<With my budget I guess the only option is the last shop.>

"Lenny's Mech Repair and parts shop,huh."

Soon the tram reached the station and he got off. After a bit of wandering around he found The Guild building.It was more like a pillar than a building since it touched and merged with the roof of the station continuing on the other levels of the business sector. Above the entrance was a big logo, a star above a pair of hands shaking probably symbolizing cooperation.

Inside he could see countless people moving about, some going to the receptionists, others going up to other levels.

Apparently the first level was for the E and D ranks, second level for C and B while the third was for A and S. Fourth level was a conference room for very important requests and you could only get in with an invitation, while the other levels were for staff members only.

<The mining mission was D rank so I should stay on the first level.>

As soon as he approached a free receptionist she started speaking.

"Hello. Do you wish to accept or complete a mission?"

"I would like to complete a mission."

"Please approach your PDA to the scanner. Thank you."

"Uh, sure."

"A mining mission has been accepted by Captain Adamaris of the Fenrir.I am afraid that I need the Captain's confirmation or the Vice Captain's in order to complete the mission."

"Uh..."

I probably shouldn't say that they are dead.They might take away the ship and Mech.

"Unfortunately we were attacked on the mission and everyone was injured so they sent me."

"Can you provide proof and the coordinates?"

"One moment please."

Shutra stepped away from the desk and quickly contacted Arfa.

"Arfa. Can you edit the ship logs so that everyone was injured instead of dead?"

"Of course captain."

"Then do it and send me the logs. Oh and also make it that the former Captain promoted me to Vice Captain in the logs."

"Affirmative."

Almost immediately he received new files.

"I hope this works." He whispered while going back to the desk.

"Have you resolved the issue sir?"

"Yes, everything should be in the ship logs, here you go."

"Everything seems in order. After the cargo is being unloaded and verified the mission will be considered successful and the reward automatically sent to the Fenrir account.We will also send an investigation and if any of the destroyed ships have a bounty on them you will be entitled to a part of the reward. Is there a anything else?"

"I would like to take a new mission."

"Have you chosen a mission?"

"Ah,not yet."

"Please choose an appropriate mission and come back for registration."

Stepping away from the desk again he went to a nearby terminal and interfaced with his PDA. He could now see all available mission on his PDA. Most of the E rank ones were chores and not worth doing while D rank missions were mostly mining, hauling cargo/passengers or even escort mission.

Due to the status of the ship and Mech, only hauling cargo was an option.

5,000 and 3,000 credits for 2 hauling missions to the same place: Pensha III Mining Colony. Mostly supplies like food,water and medicine while the second one is mostly mining equipment.

It seems that in system hauling is not very profitable, but until I repair the ship a bit more I cant go to another system.

"Have you decided?"

"Yes, these 2 please."

"Understood, the cargo will be loaded onto your ship shortly. Is that all?"

"Yes, goodbye."

As soon as he stepped outside he sighed of relief.

<That was stressful, but at least for now I can act freely until I find a way to transfer the ship to my name. Now then... I still have a few hours until the ship will be ready to depart. I should explore while I still can.>
