264 Hatchling

"How…" Mason started but he did not get to finish the sentence. He was going to ask how much longer they thought it would take. Not that they planned to leave until she hatched. He was just curious, the energy felt very strong and they had been down here now for a good amount of time. However as the word left his mouth there was this crack like the sound of shattering glass or pottery. It was intense and they both jumped. Adina gasped and let go of the egg. 

It was the egg that cracked, and again that sound like shattering glass happened. The egg was large but as it cracked and fell to pieces the little being there was tiny. Only a few pounds at most. However she was in Adina's lap and the baby dragon was white in color with tiny silver spikes that were not yet hard, nor her scales hard. It uncurled and was surprisingly quick to get out of the bottom part of the shell and make contact with Adina.
